Xiandu is a mix of Thai and Indian cuisine, a rare setup you see in the city. They have high tops and bar seating on the first floor (street level) with tons of seating up the set of stairs. The quality of the food and speed it comes out is great, with the only recommendation of sticking to “typical” dishes of that cuisine you’re looking for. For example, the shrimp Thai green curry is FANTASTIC. The Dan Dan noodles… not a much (but still good don’t get me wrong). The dumplings were very well made with tons of filling which I feel isn’t always the case and a great dipping sauce. Great for big parties (there were a number of 8+ groups) that were easily accommodated.
Reasonably priced, good food, will be back.
People looking for Thai Indian fusion kind of food, this is a good option in Philly.
This place has some good options in non alcoholic drinks and thai food. In food I tried the drunken chicken noodles and those were good.
Curry puff with chicken filling was something new I tried and was not disappointed.
In non alcoholic drink, I tried first love and enjoyed it. It tasted good, with bits of fruits at the bottom.
The place was moderately busy.
The servers were good, the place had really good ambiance. Restrooms were clean and usable. I can recommend it to people looking for a dine in. Parking might be difficult to find based on time of the day, street parking was the option available.
This place near city hall has some
quiet comforting food to offer. We ordered Thai ice tea, Pad thai noodles & Red curry. The food was yummy if you are not looking for spicy food. To spice up the food we got their dried red chilly flakes , god that was real spice and made the food more enjoyable. The red curry had the best tofu I have ever had at any Thai place, it almost tasted like the Cottage cheese, thats how deliciously it was cooked. The pad thai noodles with chicken was so good served with some bamboo shoots on the side. I would have rated this place 5/5 for food if it was not for the thai tea. The thai tea was not the best. I would visit this place again and would like to try their other delicacies leaving the thai ice tea.
Nice thai restaurant with a wide choice also for vegetarians serving huge portions for quite good prices! Great staff working here made a our group lunch very enjoyable
I am sad to see the bad reviews through out the years here. I went in for the first time today for lunch and it was the cutest place. On TOP of the food being so amazing! I ordered Tom Yum soup, which I now favor beyond other places in different areas of Philly and other states. Then I got PENANG CURRY. Omg perfect portion enough to take home for dinner. I’m not done the sticky rice mango with coconut dessert was delicious.
Every dish came out hot (temp) both me and my friend. Usually someone’s plate is colder. Fresh fresh food. Taste like the Chef was from Thailand.
BUT if you’re not cultured. And never tried other ethnic foods do not come here. It’s not a Chinese restaurant. It’s a Thai restaurant with a hint of Vietnamese dishes. You have to be open to different taste. It’s sad to see a bad review because you don’t like the taste of Thai. It’s not the food it’s you.
Probably the friendliest restaurant in Midtown Center city. They host you like you are family. The cuisine is always well served & delicious. Their specialty ginger-tumeric infused drink menu🍷🍷 is eclectic! They also serve pick up as well if you're on the go. It's a very laid back environment where you find yourself coming back.
Jeff our waiter was absolutely amazing, he was super attentive.
I also really enjoyed the DanDan noodles. Get that, I can’t recommend enough. That will not be my go to dish. Also, their crushed red paper is the greatest. My boyfriend really enjoyed his drunken noodles. 10/10 recommend.
A must try in center city. A great menu of Thai, Malaysian, Indian, and Chinese. A lot of the dishes have spice (as a warning to some) but several non spicy and or vegetarian options, so something for everyone. I ordered the drunken noodles and asked for Thai spicy and they delivered the heat - most places won't really make it spicy but Xiandu listened. The mochi deserts were lovely. This is a great date spot with happy hour 4:30-6
Lovely food and service. This place has great ambience and nice music 🎵
Love this place. Been coming for many years and it's my go-to Thai restaurant in the neighborhood. The nicest owners and staff with great service, pretty strong drinks and just solid Thai cuisine. My fav is the red curry and fried rice. My friend got the drunken noodles and it's amazing too.
