I had a great experience here, I just went to Philadelphia to try the original PHILLY CHEESE STEAK.
In my first night I ask to a local waitress (in a bar) where I can get a great one and she recommended this place.
We even order two Philly Cheese steak to take to NY and give it to my brother in law that couldn't go to the road trip.
Steve’s is AWESOME! I’m from Atlanta and can’t never get a decent cheesteak. But I’m in philly every month for business and always stop at Steve’s. Whiz with is the way to go! WAYY BETTER then pats or Genos! Also try the cheeseburger with whiz
First time in Philly and we were told to go to Steve's. We were not disappointed at all!! Know how to order when you go in and don't waist their time. You will want to come back 2-3. Time during your trip. We sure did!!
Was referred by another place in the area and I can honestly say this sandwhich was amazing! It really didnt need anything else added to it but I wanted to try out a few options. They have a station in front for you to fix up your sandwhich to your liking and the service is super fast. I had to try the fries since a customer behind me mentioned they are some of the best in the area. I agree
This place is a must visit if you're in town. This one came highly recommended by locals. Get here early since the line gets long. Tons of options, and you can go traditional or as wild as you want. Worth every penny. Get fries and a drink. Spend about 10-15 bucks a person.
Found this place on the way out of Philly after a short weekend visit. Truthfully I came because it was the only cheesesteak place open at 10am, but I was pleasantly surprised after trying it.
The cashier was real nice even though we walked in at open and the food came out fairly quickly. I really didn't like their fries at all (like maybe the bottom 10% of fries I tried), but the steaks were spot on. I was a little skeptical because they don't chop the meat up, but rather lay thinly sliced cuts across the roll. To my surprise, it didn't make much of a difference at all and I'd have to rank this in my top 4 or 5 cheesesteaks around Philly.
My plan: to eat half and take half back to my AirBnB. My reality: I ate the whole thing and licked wrapper! The meat - perfect and plenty! The cheese - they recommended melted cheddar + whiz - I can no longer imagine a world without the two on a Philly cheesesteak! And the bread - had a really good taste and texture, which surprised me, because I thought it'd be all about the meat!
Great steaks, good fries and a broad variety of extras and drinks.
Staff is friendly and rather fast as the place was packed when I went there but got served quickly nevertheless.
-1 star for the cleanliness since all tables were covered in ketchup and sauces and nobody really seemed to care
Great steak sandwich! Very expensive compared to the other cheese steak joints but very good. If you've eaten at Pat's or Gino's this place is decorated like a cross between e two... Metal diner walls meets neon lights!
Arguably the best Cheesesteak in Philly. Big plus is how they have a local Baker make a unique role for them. Excellent job!

Walked in with a group of 20 drunks on a Wednesday night. They fed us faster then you would believe and we're cool about it. Food was great and we were brought there by a local who says it's the best.
Typical Philly Cheesesteak... but love the variety of toppings. My favorite was the chocolate soda and hot fries (not very spicy, but flavorful).
Meat comes in thicker slices than most places. Good sandwich overall. The "hot and spicy" fries are just old bay seasoning added on, nothing special.

Visiting from D.C. and we are otw back for the 2nd time. Not sure why everybody rants and raves about Genos/Pat's. Steve's is the hands down one of the best Cheesesteaks I've ever had
