The best. The best. The best. The best. The best. The best.
I'll never go to another bakery again. Truly the best.

The best bread in the world!
The only time I don't mind waiting in line.
Man, I miss living on 9th Street! <3
I love the bread. and pizza....All though I no longer live in South Philly ..I have no problem coming back for the taste of south philly.....Its cool to visit other restaurants and deli's and see them using your bread....
Best bread EVER !!! Perfect crust, must be difficult 'cause nobody else can do it !!!
Simply the best. Bread made the way it is supposed to be.
The tomato pie is definitely a must try. Rich tomato flavor with a nice soft bread underneath. The cheese one is just as good especially with the nice thick layer.
Overall a good small eats location.

I always pre-order the entire tray of tomato pie by calling ahead; it's $30 in cash. Since I don't live nearby, I freeze the rest and heat it up as needed.
Best bread in Philadelphia!!
Scones, when they have them, are excellent.
Highly recommended.
Yes it is worth it to come here & try the room temperature Tomato Pie! They only had ONE slice left when we arrived. It is SIMPLE but the flavor will blow your mind! YUM!!! Visit the Italian market and make sure to come here for an after coffee snack. Within walking distance to iconic Ralph's Italian Restaurant and Also famous Angelo's Pizza.
I CAN-NOLI IMAGINE 🤤@sarcones_bakery 🇮🇹🥐 📍 South Philly, PA
Don't be fooled by this little shop entrance. This bakery is filled with history , character, and women power 💪 in the front + multiple Louis Sarcones baking behind the scenes 😂 it is a 5th generation Italian bakery started in 1918 with pizzas, Italian cookies, Italian baked bread/goods . More than 90 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Too tempted to grab this before lunch that day 😂 . And of course, we needed to try their Cannoli! Packed with cream in a crispy shell (they fill it fresh to order).
As you can see it's very simple, with a few chocolate chips. Nothing too fancy unlike the modern Italian bakeries. Shell was very crispy , good bubbles/aeration. Cream was not too sweet, with nice dairy flavor . I could eat 5 of these at once
Service was slightly rude but expected with an authentic Italian business haha
Can't wait to try their famous tomato 🍅 pie though!

2/12/22...fresh pizza from a great bakery!
I have been going to this bakery for many years. I used to live two doors away and would get fresh rolls everyday. I still think their bread is delicious! I still get their bread and still think it's one of the best bakeries around. The ladies are nice, the owners are nice and the place is clean. There's a variety of rolls from Kaiser's to steaks to dinner rolls to long bread, seeded bread and they all freeze beautifully so you can take them home if your visiting. They also have pizza and tomato pie and cookies, all highly recommended.
My husband and I tried tomato pie at 5 different bakeries before stepping into Sarcones. Theirs was by far the best one!
Good old school Italian bakery. They have all kind of breads and cookies but I wish they carried some nice pastries like apple turnovers and danishes. I tried the tomato pie for the first time and it's not bad. It reminds me of a slightly crunchier and garlicky Sicilian but without cheese. All in all, it's worth your time and money.
Old school Italian bakery located in South Philly near Society Hill. The garlic bread was delicious and at only $2.50 for a giant loaf, a bona fide bargain! We arrived at about 3:15 and they were completely sold out of bread which is what we had come in for, but lesson learned. So now we know, if we want to try the bread, get there early. But at least we got to try the garlic bread which we would definitely buy again.
Stopped in for some Italian cookies. Got an assorted pound to share with the family. Helpful staff to help you decide. Definitely recommend.
Another bakery I visited solely for the purpose of trying their homemade, square tomato pie. These slices were served at room temperature. They were absolutely loaded with sauce, with a bit of (parmesan) cheese. The one drawback that I personally did not like was the amount of garlic. I'm not a huge garlic fan, and I thought Sarcone's recipe had a bit too much. But that is just me. Give the tomato pie at Sarcone's a try for yourself!

Really good I mean REALLY GOOD pies... great price $3!! All
great tomato pie and nice people who work there. i’ll be trying some sweets next time too. cash only!
Awesome bakery. The employees were very polite and kind.
I love their bread. It's always tough to find parking nearby. (The only reason I didn't go in the other day). I wish they sold rolls from the sidewalk where you could drive up and go.
Tried the Philly tomato pie and was somewhat disappointed. Maybe better if it was hot but not room temperature.
