Took my Girlfriend to dinner for her Birthday. When we arrived we were only the 2nd, 2-top. No one else. It was quiet and cozy but Our server was amazing and we were able to get some close up attention. I ordered the Caesar and she ordered an appetizer with Tomato, Mozzarella, grilled Zucchini, and roasted peppers. We both enjoyed those. I asked our server: "Branzino or Swordfish"? He recommended both but told me to try the Swordfish. It was AMAZING!! She got the Enochi in pesto sauce.. My GF is Sicilian (SP Sicilian) and rarely leaves any evidence of food on a plate. She couldn't finish the Enochi because the portion was so large. I had em for breakfast.. they were also delicious. We finished with the chocolate moose, which reminded me of a chocolate frosting my G-Pop used to make. It was very good!! 2 apps, 2 entrees, & dessert, plus the cost of the bottle of red - less than $100. Definitely going back . Awesome spot I've driven by thousands of times over many years .. So glad I finally made it in!

I’m becoming a regular to Bistro La Baia because the atmosphere is so cozy and the food is spectacular. The appetizers and entrees have not disappointed in my three visits there. Dessert isn’t at the same level of the meals in my opinion, but still enjoyable. Here are some pictures from my time there recently.

We went on a Saturday for lunch during Restaurant Week. A very cozy and family style place. The food was good and portions were definitely on the bigger side. The service was decent. The Tiramisu and the Panna Cotta were one of the best we have tried. The downside was that the inside feels very cramped and the tables are too close to each other. Overall a good experience but really wish they would expand the space and make more room. The seating arrangement was not enjoyable.

BISTRO La Baia 1700 Lombard Street, Philadelphia, PA This restaurant has the old world charm of an Italian Bistro. It is small and intimate. The food however comes packed with HUGE flavors. I had the Pollo Parmigiana which is what I order at every new Italian Restaurant. This was a delightful and tasty version. The sauce was sweet, the pasta al dente and the chicken was seasoned well. There were three other entrees ordered which were all fabulous. Pappardelle con Salsiccia Homemade wide ribbons of pasta, Italian sausage, vodka sauce Ravioli di Aragosta Homemade ravioli stuffed with lobster in a light cognac sauce Pollo Genovese Chicken breast sauteed with mushrooms and peas in a light tomato sauce I would highly recommend this restaurant for an amazing meal with fabulous service, terrific atmosphere at prices that are very reasonable. Remember that this is a BYOB restaurant so if want wine with dinner bring your favorite.

Small inside, cozy atmosphere. Excellent place for a weeknight pasta meal with friends. Our favorites were the ragu and spicy sausage pasta. The tiramisu for dessert was delicious!

My husband and I had the weekend special. 3 course meal and it was incredible! The service was amazing as well as the food. Tiramisu was so fresh, tasted home made and everything was the perfect temperature. Honestly everything tasted as tho I was in someone home having home cooked meals. I’m sad I don’t live close enough to frequent this little gem.

I had not been to La Baia for years, so I was a little nervous taking a friend there, even though it's considered a good "neighborhood" place. It was wonderful! We both had seafood based entrees and they were delicious. Good Caesar salad too, and the desserts were very good. Will definitely be back.

Came here for restaurant week, plenty of outdoor and indoor seating for a great Italian meal. Menu was fantastic with entrees from lobster ravioli, gnocchi, chicken parm, and more. Plenty of app and dessert options as well. Service was a bit slow because restaurant week but very friendly and atmosphere was perfect for a weekday date night.

Very intimate and cozy little restaurant, serving up delicious, authentic dishes. Very good meatballs, delicious pasta choices, excellent grilled calamari, an amazing seabass, and more. The funghi appetizer of mushrooms, shrimp, and cheese is a must try. And don’t forget about the homemade tiramisu! Note: Cash only.

This place was great. The prices were fair for the high quality food. Also, you save money by not having to pay for bar with the BYOB. The service was very good, everyone was friendly. The food was really really good. We had the lobster ravioli and the seafood pasta. All seafood looked and tasted fresh and delicious. I had the ricotta and spinach appetizer special, and it was good but next time I would probably get the caprese salad instead. Mostly because I didn't really need to eat 2 pasta dishes. The meatball appetizer was also delicious. We will definitely go back.

Went to Bistro La Baia for the first time for a friend gathering and it was excellent. We had the best customer service. It wasn't crowded. Beautiful establishment. Wonderful dishes, plentiful plate amount and presentation, good dessert. We met the owner a very pleasant man. This is an excellent establishment and offers outside seating as well as inside. 2 hour meter parking in the area. Good for intimate conversation. Seating arrangement was exceptional in space. Been to some bigger restaurants and seated very closely. Thanks for the consideration. Pictures of dinner: Veal Medallions, Gnocchi with Vodka Sauce, Chicken Parm, Meatball and dessert Homemade Tiramisu, Tartuffo and appetizer Caprese salad was my favorite (didn't take pic but everything looks exactly as shown on line). Bread is very warm. Also, heard great things from a friend about the Lamb Chops. Don't miss out on this wonderful place. Thanks to Bistro La Baia for a wonderful experience. Keep up the great service!!!

My husband and I have been going to this restaurant for a couple years now. It is ALWAYS consistently wonderful!! I can not understand why people aren’t beating the doors down to get in. Lol Altho, I think part of the charm might be that, it’s cozy and quiet. Our waiter, straight from Italy himself also is the host. He is charming, handsome and quite attentive. But we go for the delicious food!!! By now we have tried just about everything on the menu. We have NEVER been disappointed, we leave happy and content , with plenty to take home.. they are quite generous with their portions , It’s always a fun dining experience! A GREAT GEM IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD FOR SURE!!!! PS… 10% off if you pay with cash.

Cute, little BYOB Italian spot. Felt like you could be in Rome. Hostess was gracious in that truly European way and the chef definitely knows what he is doing. Was mostly empty when we walked in but the tables filled up quickly for a late lunch service. Brought our own wine to accompany the delicious pasta. Properly al dente. Would visit again. Went for restaurant week.

Ordered; Chocolate Mousse Cake (AMAZING FLAVOR AND TEXTURE) 5 Star Mussels -red and spicy sauce (Worth the wait- order bread on the side to get all the sauce) Linguine Clams -tomato sauce (pasta felt under cooked, sauce was ok, clams ok) Service needs some help, they take very long to serve. The actual waitress doesn’t help much and only came to give water. After that, tried to take my utensils when I only ate appetizer. She was confused as if she doesn’t know what she’s supposed to do. Took an hour just to get the appetizer. Another long wait for them to clear the table. I had about 3 total persons come since I had to keep asking for some service. The table beside me came 30 min after and they’re leaving before me. The two other workers are nice, I just feel like they were not prepared to serve today. It isn’t packed either. Maybe the cheff or training or unorganized. They are very limited on supplies either. They don’t have napkins, nor tissue, or other drinks besides tap water and bottled water. It is BYOB but that seems like at least a soda or juice should be an option. I would like to see them upgrade to a better system to improve their flow rate. Location aesthetically is very nice and calm. Lighting is cute, star light type design Soothing area with friendly other customers. Outside seating may need an upgrade since the roof is just tarp that is very small compared to the actual space needed to cover. Came here 6:23 pm Leaving 8:53 pm

As always service and food at good quality. I enjoy every time I dine in this place. Everyone is friendly and respectful. Definitely recommend it . I can not recommend a certain food because they are all very very good. No matter what you order , you won’t feel sorry , because everything is fresh and really tasty.

What a splendid neighborhood Italian restaurant. Took my wife and two children (18 and 22) here on a busy Saturday night. While it was rather loud because it’s a cozy spot and every table was taken, including two large parties, the service was sweet and first rate. It’s a delightful menu, and I can highly recommend the veal porcini and chicken genovese. Outstanding. They also bake their own bread and make all of their desserts. The tiramisu was one of the best we’ve had. (And we’ve had plenty :) ) It’s BYO so don’t be like us and forget the wine! Enjoy …
