Quick service. Really good food. Drinks are alright. Can’t go wrong if you’re in the mood for Mexican. Been here a couple of times and I’ve never been disappointed. Not expensive and they have huge portion sizes leaving enough left over for a second meal later :).
Chicken fajita and tacos are very delicious; and the service is also very good.
First thing just to make this perfectly clear, El Azteca Uno is not Plaza Azteca. El Azteca Uno is not a chain restaurant. What El Azteca Uno is, it is a restaurant located in Center City Philly that serves Mexican cuisine using VERY FRESH ingredients. I had the shrimp quesadilla and it was delicious. The first thought that entered my mind after I took my first bite was, "wow, it tastes like the ingredients were picked out of the ground this morning." My wife had the chicken quesadilla and she also felt that her meal was delicious and very fresh as well. She felt that the serving size was the perfect portion. Large enough to leave you full, (and sleepy afterwards) but not too much to make you feel bloated. We both liked the interior decoration of the restaurant. I liked how the artwork was incorporated into the seating. The service was fast and done with a smile. The chips and salsa were orginal but overall it is a great place to get some reasonable priced Mexican food.
The food was flavorful yet simple. The staff was really nice and the food came out quickly.
Good food, fast and friendly service. The restaurant is really clean and the decorations are very cute. I recommend the carne asada burrito. It was delicious!
I love El Azteca. This is a great lunch or dinner spot. Homemade food. Great drinks and intimate setting.
Awesome food, service and drinks. I get the steak fajitas usually.
Undeniably the best authentic Mexican food I have ever had. Every single dish I have tried there has been phenomenal, and I've been there plenty of times. Always exceptional service and consistently delicious food! You can tell they take pride in what they do across the board. If you are in Philly, you need to try El Azteca Uno!! Love the atmosphere too
We stumbled onto this wonderful restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was our if this world delicious. Even the picky eaters thoroughly enjoyed their lunches. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. Definitely will stop in again when I am in the area
This was the very FIRST restaurant my family and I went to when moved to Old City Philly. We fell in love immediately and got close to the owner and staff. 5 years later, we are still going an a regular basis. Al Azteca Uno has the BEST authentic Mexican food and a great staff of waiters. It’s also very reasonable and the meals are huge! Try it out and I guarantee you will enjoy it. 🌮🌮❤️🤗🙂
Great Mexican food in downtown Philly. Stopped in for lunch Saturday, we were meet by warm crunchy chips right away. A couple minutes after we ordered, we had fantastic food in front of us. It'll be difficult for one person to finish the lunch fajitas, it was huge. Delicious chicken with lots of fresh peppers and onions. The rice and beans were also spot on. Very friendly staff here too! We'll go here again when in the area.
A new favorite. The food is authentic and fresh. Great lunch menu. Very long happy hour. The staff is very professional and polite. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Used to come here regularly 15 years ago when my wife and I were newly engaged and we lived in Philly. Just went back this past weekend... Food quality is as good as it was back then. So fresh and tasty. Would give it 10 stars if I could.
This is my favorite comfort food spot in Philadelphia. The food and margaritas are great and uncomplicated. Prices are great and the staff are wonderful! I left my credit card there and they held it more me. As far as I'm concerned, that's a mark of good service.
One of the best restaurants in Philly, and certainly the best Mexican. It’s the only place I’ve found in the city that has authentic Mexican food like I am used to from growing up in NC... it is hard to find in this area. They have white queso dip! Their smothered burritos are incredible, as are the margaritas; Strawberry is my go-to flavor. Truly a hidden gem.
Best fajitas I've had in a very long time.we had a combination of shrimp chicken beef and chorizo. The veggies were nicely charred, not swimming in oil,and everything was tasty. More than ample portions and very reasonably priced. Would definitely go back
Beautiful place. Love the booths, beautiful paintings on them. Great food & great drinks!
All the workers there were great and friendly. Our first time in Philadelphia and we've been here twice already 😁
