Went for the first time and loved every aspect of this place. They had two people working and they were doing an excellent job. I tried the roast beef sandwich with sharp provolone and got it wet. The sandwich melted in my mouth and was so flavorful. Got long hots on the side which I highly recommend. Also tried their Irish potato soup which was amazing. It was reasonably priced for the quality of food and service and the atmosphere of the place is very relaxed and the history of that place makes it even cooler!
Great bar - cool vibe and a longstanding historic spot. The food is good, simple dishes prepared on the side of the bar. Can’t go wrong with a stop here, it’s absolutely worth visiting. Also worth noting it has a non-alcoholic beer option for non-drinkers!
A watering hole. Dive-y, unpretentious local vibes. No one bothers you. Quality bartenders. V good sammies. Probably shouldn’t talk about how good, bc I don’t want the vibe to change. Too late. I said. Internet is forever.
It's a nice homey bar with a simple but good menu. The tap selection is pretty solid, and the bartenders here are always on point. The menu isn't massive and usually has 8 or 10 options, including soups. However, everything on the menu is good.
This place has a reputation for a reason...a good reason. Fresh made hot roast beef sandwiches w/ sharp provolone, long hots & horseradish = 😻 & the service is as friendly as it gets. Felt like a regular by the time I left. Classic!
The perfect neighborhood bar. The interior is welcoming and cozy. Both bartenders were incredibly kind. I saw a few of the roast beef sandwiches being prepared and they looked delicious. Had a really great time here and will surely be back.
Edit: Did come back here after celebrating my birthday at the Mütter Museum and my initial review was correct. This place is the best. The bartenders are so kind and it makes for an outstanding visit. A great place to have a chat with people you care about.
Nice little bar. Good environment. Not touristy, kinda a neighborhood/locals feel. Great place to watch a game and get a couple pitchers.

Been a fan for over ten years and always come back. Best bar service and a old school spot as Philly gets. Laid back attitude, best sandwiches and crispy chips! It’s all I want sometimes in a bar...certainly a place stuck in time and doing it just right.
A neighborhood bar. Go in for a drink and a tasty sandwich. The hot pork and beef are very good. Get them with sharp provolone and long hots. A nice place to go and relax after work with friends .
Got the roast beef,it was piled high n tasty but definitely a lunch meat type meat no way fresh roasted real roast beef like Nicks south Philly or De niks etc
Reading Terminal..roll wasn't any thing special at all ..n dayuum this place hasn't had any remodeling ever ...if I lived near here I would still visit but for me I want the real in store roasting
