My husband and I came in on a Friday night, got dinner and drinks. Everything was delicious and affordable, our server Tony was great too. What blew us away though was the Korean donuts! Oh my goodness!! Cinnamon sugar, pillowy soft donuts. š¤¤ Donāt skip on dessert!
This is the closest Bonchon Korean wings spot since we are from south Jersey. You havenāt taste any delicious double fried wings until you get your hands on these. The most challenging part for this restaurant is finding parking. We stop in on Labor Day and parking was free. We order soy and spicy wings. Order were ready within 10 mins. We didnāt dine in but seems like they have a full bar and 2nd floor seating. I would definitely recommend the spicy wings. See for yourself and it definitely gives Soho wings a run for their money.
Excellent Asian fusion restaurant with a great nightlife vibe! The staff is friendly and attentive. The chicken is excellent; my friends and I visited here all 3 days of our weekend trip! Lol
(**FYI- their kitchen is open with a regular menu until 11pm and a limited food menu is available until 1:30a, which includes their delicious chicken šš)
I tried a soju mojito for the first time. It was delicious!! š¤¤ The strawberry and peach were very tasty! Soju is sweet and the alcohol taste is hidden so the drinks flow smoothly! š
They have a great weekday happy hour from 4:30-6:30p that is worth checking out as well!
For food, I ordered the drumsticks, and chicken tenders with the soy garlic sauce. Both were incredible, the chicken was juicy and flavorful!
Spicy fried chicken wings were amazing. I would recommend this place to quench your spicy chicken cravings. The place doesnāt look much from outside but has two level seating. Tried the drink: Calpico mango and liked it. I can recommend this combo, and recommend that you opt for a beverage with spicy chicken. You can opt for other sauces on your fried chicken; spicy chicken was spicy here!
Place was around 50% full, light music in background and a large TV with baseball game being played makes it a good place to hang out.
One restroom located on level 1, was okay and usable. Service was okay. Only con I can think of was was for the server. The server has to make multiple trips on stairs from level 1 to 2. Street parking can be a issue, there is one paid parking lot next to the establishment though.
I ordered their signature chicken small combo, which has 6 pieces of wings and 3 drumsticks.
For the portion, those pieces are huge! Finishing all of them by myself is a little challenging, and I did not even order beer.
With the huge size of their chicken in mind, their wings and drumsticks definitely have a lot of meat. But what really impresses me is the layer of flavors. I tried half soy garlic and half spicy. Each single piece is full of flavor, not only on the crunch skin, but also in the succulent meat.
Soy garlic is absolutely the flavor I love more. It is a little sweet and mainly savory, quite delicious!
Spicy flavor has a strong kick. My tongue senses a red alert on the first bite, my throat feels jet fuel after finishing one piece, and my whole mouth becomes a nuclear waste after finishing all four spicy pieces (sorry about those metaphors, I mean, their spicy flavor is really spicy; not for a weak soul)
The background music is all Kpop, which I love. Seems that there are people dancing on the second floor, I wish I can join them next time.
Chicken was super crispy, tender, and moist. Soy garlic sauce was good. Chicken is just flat out badass at Bonchon. Pork buns were also very good, and by some black magic - The fries remained crispy even when cold.
After wandering around Philadelphia's China town for a while, I stumbled upon this spot. I saw that they served wings, which I can't resist. They were some of the best wings I have ever had. Super crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside. They were perfectly cooked, and the sauces were delectable. I got the half and half. A small order comes with five spicy wings and five soy garlic wings. I got a side of picked radishes and two soju cocktails. There were some nice-looking Korean menu items, which I will have to come back and try sometime.
Tried out Bonchon with some friends after work and had a good time.
Service was quick and responsive, and we were able to get seated very quickly.
We ordered two sets of wings and everything was crunchy and delicious (get the spicy sauce!). The popcorn shrimp and fries were only okay, but definitely recommend the chicken.
I loved the double fried chicken (4 wing and two drumsticks) and kimchi I ordered with the lunch special. This location has an upstairs seating and large TV's playing K-pop.
Update (3/5/2020)- Not sure if they changed staff in the kitchen - but I ordered boneless chicken that came out half an hour after it was ordered. I actually had to ask the bartender to go to the kitchen and check on my order. It also seemed like I got the crispy dressing instead of the soy garlic and the chicken was overcooked to the point that it was really hard. A patron that came in 10 min after me got their order of chicken with in 10 min. Not sure is cooking boneless chicken takes longer. š¤·
Update (Feb 23) - the new boneless chicken strips are definitely a major improvement.
It's not my first time, we often order takeout ļ¼The fried chicken is delicious, fresh ļ¼Lots of flavor options,we like spicy. In the shop, I do not like the music was loud. The toilets were dirty and needed to be changed. Recommended the food but not in storeļ¼
Meaty wings with great flavor. I really enjoy how crispy Korean BBQ wings are and these delivered. We didnāt make reservations so we had to sit downstairs in the very front - so not the best seating. But the vibe in the restaurant was pretty good - just tight up front with the hostess booth and waiting area. Thereās a bar too but my drink wasnāt really worth the price. Our waitress was average. I left wondering what was upstairsā¦
I love the wings, tasty. I also ordered salmon avocado balls, not bad. The last I ordered is shrimp shumai, normal. From my point of view, I prefer wings, the space is not big enough but not too bad, the music quite loudly. To conclude, will come back for the wings.
Gotta get both flavors, and enjoy it with sake! The peach sake flavor and the strawberry flavors were great!
First experience was good even though i got takeout. Had to wait almost an hour but was well worth it. Will be back for true dine-in experience!
*Edit: Came back for dine-in at the bar, the food was great hot and fresh. Service could of been a little better but overall good experience. Will be returning!
This location is probably the only one that have outdoor sitting in Chinatown during the pandemic.
Needless to say they are famous of making Korean style fried chicken wings since they are actually a chain restaurant.
I always go there to get spicy wings and this time I ordered the āsalmon avocado ballā as well, little bit different than what I expected...it sounds like a deep fried meatball type of thing but it ended up being a room temperature salad with avocado bit and a piece of salmon on it, it tasted okay but I prefer my salad cold.
