I love the coffee here and the biscuits/scones are so good. I love the Rosemary cheddar one. Great place to work from and to people watch. :)
JOE is a great spot for coffee around Rittenhouse. I love their cold brew--and even though it can get a bit crowded, I've always managed to grab a table or a seat at the window.
Wow did I love this coffee house, I was living right across the street and it fast became my weekend treat and even my 'I deserve more than my Dunkin donut coffee this morning'- my friend recommended the almond milk latte and it was my go to order- absolute heaven after my barre class on the weekends! At 4.50 for a small cup it was a treat but worth it. The baristas are quite laid back so it's not the best idea on route to work when you're already running a little late! My dad visited me and he adored this place, I haven't had a brew of that quality since leaving philly!
The coffee is always made exceptionally well and if you drink or enjoy coffee black you’re in for a real treat. Personally I enjoy the Ethopian Adado but that changes with the season, but their cold brew is from their house blend. And you can always get that. I’ve also had the Brioche Doughnut and love the sugary ball of dough. The cinnamon along with the sugar is a nice touch. The only problem is the vendor they used for the brioche dougnut is not working with them anymore. I’ve had the Chocolate Chip muffin and always been pleasaed.
Great location, atmosphere, and friendly people! Not the top pick in Philly but definitely worth a visit if you simply want to experience a happening local favorite!! Always make my drink right!! The inside is always very clean and feels comfortable!! There are plenty of tables and outlets for laptops and other devices!!
Super nice staff and VEGAN donuts! I've been searching for these for a year! I can't believe Joe was the place to finally find them.
Coffee is excellent of course. Just like I remember from NYC. Perfect location next to the park with seating facing it. There's also extra seating in the building lobby that's attached.
Some of the best coffee in centre city. Inside seeting is limited, but overall highly recommendable. They really care for coffee here. With that it is also quite pricey, including food options.
you can't miss their coffee while u r in philly , u can try whatever , ice or hot coffees, booth are amazing + so nice people.
Joe along with Ultimo have fueled my new hobby and passion: the pursuit of a great cup of coffee. I'm more a fan of their cold drinks than I am their hot coffee but that's not to say it's bad. Their cold brew is excellent and a very fair price. The iced coffee is a bit more acidic and not as smooth but still excellent. The staff have been friendly when there's time to talk and I'm glad to pop in every few days for my fix!
Nice place for a latte by the park. Very cold A/C on those unbearably hot days.
There were four of us and everyone liked the coffee & bakery.
Service here is quick and friendly. Joe's is usually pretty busy so it may be difficult to find seating in store, but Rittenhouse Park and a Starbucks in Barnes and Noble with ample seating are nearby. Drinks are a little on the pricier side but are of good quality.
Nice coffee shop by Rittenhouse square.
Joe coffee is a quaint little spot in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city. It has good service and fair price. I love the option of outdoor seating and it looks right into Rittenhouse square, which is beautiful in the spring/summer.
Too bad Joe couldn’t pay the rent and thus shut down. The baristas were friendly and I enjoyed the outdoor seating during warmer days. The WiFi usually worked well. But during the wintertime or during poor weather, the place could get uncomfortably crowded.
Great cup of Peruvian coffee. Loved the music selection (classic rock) and extremely fast wifi - it was Sunday morning but check out the "5G" network. Pastries seemed a bit overpriced but looked delicious at least. All in all, if you're coming for a simple cup of coffee & a view of the park, can't be beat.
Great place to sit down and work. There's always a lot of people working there, and the ambience is great. You can sit outside or inside at the window bar and look at Rittenhouse park while you work. The only thing I would say is that the WiFi can be spotty at times, and there are not an excessive amount of outlets, other than that it's a wonderful coffee shop.
They have good hours compared to most coffee shops in the area, the coffee is great and the outdoor seating facing rittenhouse square park on a warm day is even better.
They also have a loyalty program so 10 to 1 free.
Great coffee, great service. LOVE their Oat Milk latte. Delicious pastries and cookies too, sometimes even have vegan pastries (if you are lucky to get there before they are all gobbled up!).
Best cold brew (much better than iced coffee, and the same price) that I've found in Philly. La Colombe around the corner may be the local shop, but Joe is better. I've had pretty consistent success going here to read or work as well.
