My first taste of Indonesian food, and it blew almost every other Asian food experience I've ever had out if the water! So delicious! My friend [1411598139:Evan Rowley] took me here on our little trip to Philly from the DC Metro Area, introducing me to food he grew up with being 1/4 Indonesian himself, and we were both thoroughly impressed! The food was delicious, the menu was illustrated to show pictures of each dish, but what was esp wonderful was how helpful our server was! Bianca took time to explain everything on the menu thoroughly, and go over the flavors of each item we were interested in, what was vegetarian and what could be made vegetarian, and ingredients as well...her friendliness, helpfulness and knowledge really made the whole experience exceptional! What a great little hidden gem Sky Cafe is! (Oh! And other bonus for me is, there are hardly any onions in Indonesian food! I have an onion intolerance, so this was a wonderful surprise!)

Best Indonesian food (till this comment's posted) with reasonable price and proper portion that I've ever tried outside of Indonesia. Bring back memories of Jakarta Kota (Mangga Dua or Glodok). Have tried Indonesian food in Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Warsaw, Istanbul, Hamburg, München. Those are nothing compare with the food from Sky Café.

It’s feels very homey.. because of its small size, people squeeze to each other’s table, feels like u r home having a party.. only one waiter, busboy & everything & he works like 3 people-in-one! I think if they will expand the place, it’s gonna look so commercial just like the regular restaurants- although it will be in the benefit of the customers to not wait for 15-30 minutes to get seated- I dnt think it will feel the same as now.. my sons friends took him there, then he took my daughter, who then took me.. last Sunday, I took my husband there too, and we all love the food, very delicious, good portion serving & very cheap. 💖😘

Nicest most hardworking owners you will meet in philly, they are so friendly and compassionate. I have brought dozens of friends and family to Sky Cafe over the last year and have got more positive comments about it than anywhere else I've eaten. The satay, beef rendang, and mie goreng are my favorites, but you can't go wrong here! Their es teler is also great in summer days

Might be the first time I've gotten bad service here. The server seemed to be more interested in his friends being there than the restaurant. Pasted over our table for other tables sat after us 2x. Didn't even look our way which is strange since we come often and have seen him before.

Authentic Indonesian foods. It’s a quick bite type of restaurant, fast service, casual atmosphere, affordable, and full of flavors. I’m a huge fan of their assortment of little bites with rice. R2 and R16 are my absolute favorites. Pro tips: ask for the spicy sambal on the side. You won’t regret it.

I have visited Sky Cafe twice. This hidden gem is well worth a visit. Very good Indonesian food with amazing flavor and a lovely use of peanut. For starters, we tried the Batagor and Gado, Gado. Both very delicious. For the main, I had the Kari Bihun, both times. If you love a warm, spicy soup with great flavor and tons of fish, I would highly recommend.

The service is friendly & attentive, the food is masterfully prepared, and the prices are shockingly affordable. In a city that offers a seemingly endless variety of delicious food, Sky Cafe stands out as one of the very best my husband and I had the pleasure to try so far. Our recent meal here was the first introduction we've had to Indonesian food. Having read the reviews in advance, I was expecting it to be good — but I wasn't expecting to fall so deeply and immediately in love with this cozy neighborhood gem. The fried chicken was crisp & juicy, the coconut rice was buttery with a satisfying texture, the sauce & marinade on each of the eggs was unique & satisfying, the pickles were crisp & refreshing, and the vegetable curry was a stand-out knocked-out-of-the-park home run. The fact that I didn't know exactly what I was eating most of the time didn't lessen my enjoyment of it in the least, and I really just could go on endlessly about how much I loved this meal. 100% would recommend Sky to anyone. I am so looking forward to returning for another amazing meal, and for the opportunity to introduce friends and family to a new (to us) cuisine! Update: I returned and tried takeout this time. The food travels well — it was just as delicious as on my last visit. Points for consistency! Plus, the portions seem to be the same as they serve to those dining in. Very very happy I found this place. Update update: Been back 2 more times, and haven't had a bad (or even mediocre) dish yet! I'll continue working my way through the menu and posting more pictures.

Nice restaurant in the Philly area. The space is small and can fit about 6-7 tables at the best. The food was great and tasted very nice. The curry in a banana leaf was very nice and fragrant however, there was literally just one piece of jackfruit in it, I would have expected at least 2-3 pieces given I ordered a veggie version. The rest was just tofu, tempeh and potato.

Delicious Indonesian food in Philadelphia! Stopped by here for dinner (dined in) and ordered the Sky’s Pork Rice Platter (Nasi Campur Medan). The bbq pork was tender and it came with sweet egg and sambal goreng ati which was great. We also had Pempek goreng and it was also delicious and tasty. Overall delicious food and great experience.

Came here multiple times, service was satisfactory, food is average, the portion sizes have noticeably decreased compared to previous experiences, and to top it off, the prices have gone up. Finding parking here during the weekends has become a real treasure hunt since it's nestled inside a busy plaza.

A hidden gem! Service was fast and friendly. I enjoyed the variety of their menu and so did my friends. First time trying Indonesian food; I learned that it is customary for the food to be served room temperature — asides from soup and other dishes. Nevertheless, still delicious! Pricing is great for the amount of food that is served. Will definitely be back!

There was a wait for seating but it's worth it. The food, the price, and the atmosphere. The chicken satay was bit salty and the curry noodle soup (N12) was not as spicy as the it could have been. Service could have been a bit more attentive but overall the food is delicious. Would definitely go back again to try other dishes.

I've been here twice and the food and service never fails. It's clean and they actually caught me and my friends by suprise with one of their drinks ! My bf and friend wanted to order an avocado smoothie and the kind waiter asked if they wanted it with chocolate or coffee LOL all of our faces turned upside down and was so confused but he explained how it actually tastes really good with either so my bf got chocolate and my friend got coffee. TO OUR SUPRISE it was sooooo good. Idk if it's a common drink but all 4 of us never heard or tried it before and both tasted great!!! And of course food as usual always is great. The spice level for their sauce is bomb. I'm a spicy person so their spice was nice! I do recommend trying to find parking OUTSIDE of the parking lot on the weekends since it's always a nightmare. We usually park in the nearby neighborhoods and walk. Idk how it is on the weekdays so I can't really give any advice on that subject.

This is one of my favorite Indonesian restaurant. It is also one of the cleanest and nicest ones in Philly. The food is tasty, menu is decent. If this is your first time trying Indonesian or just trying the spot, order the Nasi Padang. It’s varieties of dishes in small servings but good enough for 2 people. (I usually eat it alone.. cuz I can eat!). If that’s too much food, beef rendang is always a good choice. For starter, the satay Padang (ox tongue on skewers) is ideal. The char grilled flavor is delicious! Chicken satay is good. Lamb satay needs to be improved. I wish they served Martabak... Only thing lacking here is a solid dessert menu!

Love love love this restaurant. My favorite place to eat in Philly. I always get the spicy fish rice platter but they have great options across the board. The takeaway in banana leaves is also great! Highly recommend for a great sit down meal that's affordable.

One of authentic Indonesian restaurant in Philadelphia. We came on a Saturday afternoon, they were busy. We got sat down right away despite Outdoor dining table was full, as well as inside. They made a table available for us. Food came out a bit slow because they’re busy but the taste was sooo good. Very authentic, just like what you find in Indonesia. We ordered mie bbq, soto betawi and pangsit goreng (fried wonton), they all exceeded our expectations. For drinks we ordered avocado juice, at first you’ll notice they mix too much ice in, but once the ice melts, it mixes with the juice better and you can taste more of the avocado. Don’t be discouraged by the store front looks, it’s actually nice inside 👍🏼

Loved this hidden gem. We ordered lamb satay, Mie Komplit, and coconut rice. The homemade egg noodles are amazing and coconut fried rice was perfection (slightly salty with layers of other flavors - it doesn’t look or sound as good as it is). Will be back!

A little bit confused to find out because the entrance is not faced in front of parking and road. The entrance is inside WING PHAT MALL. You can have authentic Indonesian cusines. Especially you can eat various kind on one plate and I recommend deserts. Very delicious.
