Tacos were top tier. We had the chorizo & the steak; both were outstanding. Perfect spot to hit right before a show at the Transfer.

The only place I'll ever eat Mexican at in Philly.

This is a fantastic place. The classic Margarita was excellent. We started with chips and queso. The queso is good but plain - next time will get the spicy version with chorizo. Our quesadilla, enchiladas verdes and tostadas were all super delicious and packed with flavors. The best verdes I’ve had in a very long time. Can’t wait to go back again.

After having this place on my personal "Restaurants to Try" list, finally tried them out a couple of months ago and have ordered takeout a few times now. It doesn't disappoint! The food is so flavorful, tasty, clearly made with fresh ingredients and filling. The drinks we had were mixed perfectly. Between eating there and what we've had for pickup orders, everything has been great! Fish tacos, birria tacos, sopes, fajitas, flautas... It's all good! We will definitely continue to go/order from here and I highly recommend anyone check them out!

El Purepecha has good tacos and drinks! I've dined in and carried out. Both experiences were great. And the food was delish both times! I would say it's a nice little hidden gem.

Food and cocktails were fantastic. It's not a stuffy or conplicated menu but everything is executed well. Portions are also very generous and I recommendthe sopes or tostadas. We enjoyed the mezcal mule and seasonal cider amaretto margaritas and they were both lovely especially considering I'm not a mezcal person. Bartender delivered.

Elotes Dip $12 was realllyyy good. Hugeee portion that could be shared with 3+ people Pulpo a la Parrilla Taco $13 octopus were surprisingly soft. Enjoyed this. Preferred the green sauce over the red sauce for the enchiladas. If you like smokey, you will prefer red. Dish came with rice, beans, and salsa. Big sharable portion.

They’ve gone from a small corner restaurant and moved into a perfect space in Spring Garden! The ambiance is amazing and the food is out of this world. And their drinks look yummy too! With a lot of Mexican food experience (they lived there 11 years)- my family rates this above any other food they’ve tried in Philadelphia. The food is so authentic and decadent! The Sopes are small corn masa medallions with the inners of a taco on top- highly recommend! They fill you up!

A new favorite of ours. It is a Tex-Mex American style Mexican restaurant, which is maybe why others coming here expecting authentic style Mexican cuisine would be let down. We stopped by for lunch and had a great experience and I'm confused why more people aren't enjoying this great restaurant. The vibes and atmosphere are fun and well designed. The drinks were plenty strong and very good. All of our food was tasty with good seasoning. We ordered the chips and salsa and they were great, the only downside here is we didn't get a refill on the chips and there was a ton of salsa left. I ordered chicken enchiladas and they are some of the best I've had in Philly, with a huge portion size including the sides. Everyone at our lunch was thrilled with the service, and our waiter was extremely nice and polite. He definitely made the experience even better.

First time visiting and ordered the carnitas quesadillas. Carnitas were very flavorful and tender! Portion size was great based on the price point. The only downside I'd say was that the plate was covered with oil, therefore made the tortillas less crispy. Had to use napkins to get rid of those sparkly oil. Otherwise, service and atmosphere were great!

Food was very tasty, server was very laid back, and I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant! Very well decorated. I wish I took pictures of the food, but we got chips with salsa, verde enchiladas and tinga tostada and all of the dishes were great! They season the chicken very well.

Parking wasn't terrible, just found street parking a couple of blocks away every time I've went. The chorizo queso is to die for. The birria tacos are amazing. They can get really busy on weekends so I try to go during the week and the food is always amazing. Drinks are great too.

MUST TRY. birrata is made beef shoulders braised over time and dipped in this beautiful thick savory sauce. It's not on menu and it's new. It is so darn good. The sopes, nachos, the tacos.. you have to try it all. We had great service and the food is just perfect!

Great selection and high quality dishes! You can mix and match the protein on orders of three, which always makes me happy. Sopes were amazing. Note, when we went, they closed the kitchen and the bar 30 minutes early. If you put your food in at last call, then you will inevitably be without a drink unless you order two at once.

After traveling all day to Philly, I was looking for some comfort food and this definitely hit the spot. I ordered the tacos Al Pastor and a Carnitas wet Burrito, with an horchata to drink. All were delicious and a good portion size. Being from soCal I usually temper my expectations when tasting Mexican food in other states and the tacos were the highlight of the meal. The sauce on the burrito tasted like Tres Palmas, but the filling was great.
