I’ve been visiting Denise’s forever, a little over 20 years. Some of my favorites here are the Oreo cookies, yellow cake & strawberry shortcake.
In my years of experience with Denise’s I had one issue. I ordered a yellow cake for my daughters 5th birthday party(12 years ago) & I received a pound cake. I spoke with the owner and she was very apologetic & provided me with the correct order.
I will continue to visit this bakery because the quality is always on point & the baked goods are always as I remembered, delicious!

This place is a Jewel 💎 of a bakery in the heart of North Philadelphia. The cakes are divinely delicious that makes you want more and more. I wish there was multiple lines to address the on the go customer, versus the special occasion customer like birthdays and baby showers etc. one customer has a high since of urgency, while the other would wait patiently to place and receive their special orders. Nevertheless long wait or no wait it’s always worth it. God bless you Denise, and give your employees some extra thanks for doing the best with smiles in the hearts and on their faces.
The very moment we picked up our cake, tears started flowing!! It was decorated so beautifully. We ordered their famous “Pound Cake” it was so tasty. I wish we would’ve ordered a three layer cake instead of two layers because those slices were gone!! LOL Our guest loved it. Thank you Denise’s 🤗🥰
All baked goods are the absolute best. I've been a customer for well over 20 yrs. The pound cakes are still the best ever. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Not a lot of fluff, just good old fashioned darn right scrumptious & beautifully decorated butter creme icing...just be prepared to wait on weekends or holidays, it is however very much worth the wait! 🎉🎉🎉 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 No matter the occasion, Denise's Delicacies will not let you or your guests down!
Absolutely love their cakes been coming here every year for all 5 of my Children’s bday!!! Cake was super moist Icing omg the friggin best!!! I highly recommend going there for all ur cup cakes cookies pies pretty much everything g omg and their donut’s!!!!
Pretty good service employees are friendly. Only thing is a run out very quickly. They have been there for years so it’s no surprise. They run out the same day. If you want a specific thing we should come early soon as they open up. If not, it will be gone by 10 o’clock.
6/3/22 UPDATE: I really hope they can find some new cashiers. The wait is so long. And God forbid someone in front of you has to place an order, you might as well pull up a chair and get comfortable. They needed to discount the sweet potato pies today because they were all burnt! I did buy some of my favorite glazed donuts today, which are always yummy!
UPDATE: everything is still delicious of course. the only issue is they need more cashiers. the wait is too long.

Celebrated my 40th Bday, and I just had to have a cake from Denise’s for the occasion. Haven’t been there in years, and the cake did not disappoint. Everyone raved about it! It was delicious! Just how I imagined it to still taste. A bit pricey, but it was worth every penny!
I had a wonderful birthday. Thank you for the beautiful pound female 1/4 sheet cake. I am enjoying my last chunk in a few minutes. Worth EVERY penny and more thanks to your wonderful baking. Everything went perfectly from the online ordering and payment system to the actual pickup of one of the most beautiful cakes I have ever enjoyed. Thank you. Keep up the great work.

I would leave out early from home to get a slice before going to school or get a slice afterwards. Even after that horrible fire, this recipe and all the other goodies STILL taste the same...... Nothing has changed, still Delicious 😋
This is a top shelf artisan baker. Cakes are so fresh creamy and moorish, I’m salivating just thinking of it. If you haven't tried them you’re definitely missing out. The selection and quality of Denise’s is off the scale. Do not walk, run and tell everyone you know about this bakery. Very friendly, family run business too!
Best bakery in the city use real butter I was told in the icing I will buy it again Been there several times already
My service was great, staff was very kind. I placed an order for a strawberry cake online and was able to pick it up 3 days later. The actual cake was moist and not too sweet.
