Cuban Treasure. What a gem! Everything was excellent. The service was attentive and friendly, and the food was outstanding. Everyone at our table had something different, and we couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised.. From the luscious crab soup, handmade empanadas and cuban sliders, to the cuban pulled pork and mahi mahi, there wasn't another thing that we could have asked for. The filet mignon was the best we have had EVER! Save room for desert, because the flan was out of this world. Chef Michael is a genius. We plan to visit again, and recommend it highly, you will not be disappointed.
Outstanding. The owner is hands on and the chef is incredible. Great food, many healthy options, attentive service and the setting in the midst of Chesnut Hill is fantastic. Had not tried Cuban food before and found tons of options to try even for less adventurous ones among our group.
We went with a group of six and two of us were watching our weight so I was pleased to see that several entres are sold at half price so you can have the same side dishes but 4 oz of salmon or whatever instead of 8 oz. Left room for the great deserts. The rooms are nicely decortated, happy atmoshere with a small deck out back with tall plants and a kind of Carribean vibe.
Really excellent food and good service, not overpriced. Also good wine and cocktails. Only complaint is live music so loud as to inhibit conversation.
Mr. Robert Welsh. I took my Wife and our friend to celebrat our 1st anniversary, and we enjoyed the atmosphere, the cuisine and the music. The service was outstanding and the food was wonderful. I highly recomend the Cuba Restaurant
Go south without the air fare. I want to say that Miguel (the owner) has knocked himself out to make this old building beautiful and welcoming; the art is for sale (he's rated as a gallery), the sparkling walls reflect the candlelight, and the black beans are a virtuoso performance. I always thought Cuban food was hot and spicy but was pleased to find out that I will not have a scorched palate!! On my personal request, Miguel forbade the carpenter to tear out the tree in the back yard, and now the elegant deck in the rear of the restaurant sports a double Japanese Yew as part of the decor...love those people who value the other life forms. Service has been a bit slow, but the guilty party has been fired; problems between the computer and the kitchen have been solved, and Miguel's son Michael is now running the kitchen. This place is mutating better and better, and deserves better treatment than some demented reviewer gave it last year.
Great place, just don't go if you don't like Cuban food. Bring some rum and they'll make you some pretty awesome mojitos.
A message from the owner.... First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all who have taken the time to post here about Cuba! Your thoughts, criticisms, praises and suggestions are the greatest gift all of us at Cuba! can receive. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Cuba! is now fully exploring the richness, diversity and flavorful explosion of the multicultural richness typified in Cuban cuisine. You need only ask the dishwashing crew to find out how well the food is received. "Every plate comes back as if it were wiped clean!"
For those of you you who have yet to visit us, I invite you to come experience the FULLNESS of the experience of Cuba; not only in it's delicious cuisine, it's beautiful art, and it's soul-touching music but especially in the warmth and heartfelt happiness of having you as our guest.

BRUNCH A MUST!. I am a CT resident who happend to end up in Chestnut hill on a weekend trip to Philly. Cuba is a nice little cuban restuarant with a nice feel. I sat on the outdoor patio for brunch with my girlfriend for a quick meal. I ordered the Cubano sandwich and she ordered the Hamburg. Each comes with yuca fries which were amazing. The Cubano sandwich was good, but i will tell you the hamburg was out of this world. Perfectly seasoned and filled with diced peppers onions and garlic. each at 9 bucks for brunch was nice, just enough food. waitstaff was prompt and on top of any request.
CUBA es Bueno. While I will admit, the prices are high, I had good experience. The wait staff was friendly, my food was served in a timely manner, and it was as authentic as I had expected. There were a couple of gliches that I thought could have be impropved upon. So, instead of publicly renouncing the restaurant. I spoke to the owner in private. He took the critique very well, and guaranteed improvements. I hear he's cutting his prices by 25% in response to the economy and customers' feedback. I doubt if Alma will do that. So, I say give them a chance to grow. They are still in a learning curve. I'll go back
GREAT!. I was taken to cuba! by my family to celebrate fathers day, what an excellent surprise! the mood is set from the moment that you step foot through the door. the pleasant authentic cuban music that plays throughout the restaurant sets a bit of a festive atmosphere while the lighting (dim lights / candles on each table) set a romantic undertone which i thought would be perfect for someone celebrating an anaversary or on a first date. our waiter, carlos, was friendly and knowledgeable and recommended me the perfect dish. the service was excellent and our water glasses were always full, and the food came out in a timly fashion. the tostones i ordered were acceptable but i was blown away by my ropa vija, which tasted just like my mom used to make (not a compliment that i use lightly!). i finished with some homemade icecream that was a great end to the night. i recived similar glowing reveiws from the rest of my family. i hear that they will be opening some outdoor seating soon and it should make for a perfect place to enjoy a nice rum mohito on a hot summer night. i will certainly be coming back for more!
We went early on a Thursday. Food was generally very good, esp the vegaterian squash dish. Service was great.
