The first time I went to Guppy’s, it was to see my friend John Gilbride perform on a First Friday. While the performing artist is given a small space in the bar area to play their music, there is much more to this place than initially meets the eye. There are additional seating areas aside from the bar and a cozy downstairs section where events such as game nights are often held. Guppy’s is an awesome place to hang out and enjoy great food and drinks. I enjoyed a delicious order of cheese curds with a side of marinara sauce for dipping and a black cherry cider. Prices aren’t so bad either. After so many businesses coming and going from this location, I hope Guppy’s will call it their permanent home and I look forward to returning for more great food, drinks, and music!

Great place to eat. The best food. Everything is purchased fresh from the Italian Market. The chef is very friendly and makes sure to come to the table ensure you like your food. Bring your appetite, the portions are large.

AMAZING PROVATE EVENT! My Husband and I held our rehearsal dinner at Guppy’s South Philly on Thursday evening....all I can say is WOW. First - the food was unbelievable. We really wanted a casual setting where people could pick on food and mingle. We had a round of appotzters and then a dinner course (all buffet style) and the food was DELICIOUS. Our friends and family loved it. Not only was it delicious but the food kept coming out. Anytime there was a plate empty - a new platter was brought out (without us having to ask!) Second - John (the manager) was phenomenal. I never had better experience with service than with him. Although he wasn’t the original manger with whom I booked the party - he transitioned thenolannifn seamlessly. He went above and beyond to get all 40 of my guests what they needed all while being friendly and kind. He was the BEST! Finally - the setting was awesome. We had the entire restaurant and back bar area for our party. The cozy couch and fireplace set up was perfectly for our winter night event. If you are looking to host a private event - I highly recommend! Ask for John !!!

This place is absolutely amazing! There is always a new special and it never disappoints me. Today I had italian stuffed chicken with pasta and words can not describe how good it was. Giuseppe is always so friendly and welcoming. He is always open to suggestions and makes sure you are a happy customer and leave satisfied. Danielle is a great host very friendly. If you need a place to unwind and watch the game with beer or a glass of wine Guppys is the place to be.

I had a Guppy's burger for the first time and I have to say they have one of the best in the city. It's a sizable 8 oz, if not more, patty on a brioche bun with lettuce tomatoe and house made pickle relish and a special sauce. Hot, juicy and delicious...this burger doesn't disappoint. Then next time you're in the area, get a Guppy burger for sure.

Only had beers but the food next to me looked and smelled good. A true Philly bar I guess. I felt like I was in the middle of an It's Always Sunny episode where the staff casually talking involves a whole lot of yelling back and forth. I hate that show.

Denise was awesome, she was so friendly and gave us excellent suggestions for other places to venture too during our visit! Happy Hour is great as well!

Fun pub and restaurant where I could take the kids for a meal. Many of the other restaurants in the area didn't seem as kid friendly. Good food with lots of variety.
