I had the beef brisket sandwich with steak fries, corn and their mac n cheese. It was all delicious. At first I tasted the sauce on the brisket by itself and didn't like it, but it paired perfectly with the beef brisket. The mac n cheese was scrumptious! I usually don't like restaurant mac n cheese but this was cheesy and made perfectly. They also had awesome service and the atmosphere were amazing and completely comfortable. I definitely would love to come here again. And the leftovers I brought home tasted amazing for lunch! All in all it was a great place to dine.

TexAz is hands-down one of the best restaurants in the Phoenix area. It truly says a great deal about owner, Steve Friedken when much of his staff have worked there for more than 20 years. As a regular customer for more than 25 years, I have never once had a bad meal or bad service. If you’re looking for a trendy scene, this restaurant may not be for you. But if you’re looking for great value, service, and food, you will love it!

Without a doubt the best Chicken Fried Steak anywhere in the USA I've been to. And I'm a snob when it comes to this food. And as far as the Smoked Prime Rib goes, it's better than what i smoke for Christmas and people always rave about mine, this too I've never had any better anywhere, no way, no how.

The food was off the hook! My kids loved there dishes as well. The bald gentleman in the black shirt was super friendly and the other staff helping other patrons. But our server was not as out going as the rest of the staff. Never asked how our food was nor said your welcome after we all said thank you and never filled our drinks up. But all the rest was awesome!

Always love the food, HUGE chicken fried steak, always great service. We had the most amazing server tonight. She was on the ball from start to finish, left NOTHING more to be asked for. I was truly impressed. I can't remember the name but we were just there an hour ago, four college guys, three of us had the CFS, one catfish, one fried okra, and two of the salads were requested without green olives. She was absolutely stellar from start to finish!

Hands down the BEST and most authentic REAL chicken fried steak in the metro Phoenix area I’ve had since growing up in Texas. With real old fashioned pan gravy, real old fashioned mashed potatoes with skin on. And the deep fried okra with the special dip was delicious. Charlene was an awesome server too!

This is where I go when I'm in the mood for a chicken fried steak. But this time around, I had one of there Sunday Brunch platters. I forgot what it was...but it was fried potato cubes topped with scrambled eggs and cream gravy. Oh, and for $1.50 more, I had it with bacon. It was definitely delectable.

All I can say about the Smoked Prime Rib and the Chicken Fried Steak oh and the Pecan Pie, is simply AMAZING. I drive 3.5 hours from California to visit my son and this is the first place we come to every time. Over 5 trips and I have not been disappointed yet. Don’t even get me started about the gravy. LOL enjoy.

Arrived at 10am for the Sunday brunch. It got busy pretty quick. We all got breakfast, but there were lunch options as well. The biscuits and gravy were amazing. Everything was hot and fresh, and the service was fast and friendly. The French toast is probably my favorite of any breakfast restaurant. There wasn't a lot of parking but we found a spot pretty quickly. Highly recommended.

It's been a few years since I had been here. I would go from time to time. One of my customers was visiting from Canada and I had him meet me here. He got the fish and really liked it. I ordered the southern pork chop. It had a nice amount of gravy on top and I ordered the mashed potatoes for the side as well as coleslaw. That pork chop had a nice little bit of crunch to it and was very tender. The coleslaw was great as well. I was just able to finish my pork chops and mashed potatoes. I was too full to finish the coleslaw. My customer wanted to treat me to dinner and he was shocked at what a great price that was for both of our dinners. I need to go try the prime rib on my next visit which will be soon.

I came here for the chicken fried steak and I was not disappointed! Big portions (I took half of my meal home for the next day), great price, really fast service, great food! I also got the bread pudding which I also recommend. In three words - everything was yummy! I’ll be coming back!

Another gem that I let sit in the sand for the last 15 years or so. Almost everyday I pass Texaz Grill and think nothing of it,every few years I think I should try it. Today is that day! When you walk in those doors you could be in the 1990s,1980s or even the 1890s. Dimmed lights, fixtures that are vintage. I like when I walk into a place and that environment changes the way you feel. It feels like an older tyme saloon or a home out on the frontier. The greeter was super nice and attentive, walking us through the daily specials. Our server was also attentive and speedy, drinks arrived within a minute or two. Not knowing the portion sizes we went in heavy on the menu. First up some french fries and Texaz fries with a Frito pie. Amazing thick cut fries cooked to perfection, loved them. The Texaz fries although good we're not our style, thick cut triangles and cubes with skin on. The Frito pie was delicious,I'm not big on chili but I think Ive found my favorite chili EVER!. On to the main event, first up the WORLD FAMOUS chicken fried steak, this monster could feed a family of 5. You get 2 pieces that resemble to small pizzas, smothered in country gravy. Partnered with a bowl of corn and some buttermilk biscuits 🤤. It really is a must have item. Next the chicken fried chicken, this special is a half of chicken,I repeat a HALF OF A CHICKEN. Everytime I watched an episode of Bonanza or Little House on the Prairie and they made fried chicken,THIS WAS THAT FRIED CHICKEN. Golden, piping hot and the best way I could describe the crispiness, would be double or triple crispy. It was amazing, the best fried chicken EVER! Mashed potatoes with the skin on was good but I prefer mine with some gravy. Lastly the chicken fried goodness....you get a fried beef steak,a chicken fried pork chop and a fried chicken breast. Another humongous plate of food. Finished the meal with a peach cobbler. A perfectly ripe peach cobbler with a nice big scoop of ice cream,a real treat. This is comfort food, you feel relaxed, you feel like family and when the food comes out you feel overwhelmed yet excited...We all felt like the food was lightly salted just needed a little more but then again it felt like this is how the food would have been prepared way back when. Texaz Grill don't ever change, we need places like this. They only downside was parking, the lot is extremely small and tight (and we went in a Prius). So please take a small car and be careful.

Father's day dinner right after a Dbacks game. Super busy, of course, but they couldn't have been any better. Chicken fried steak was perfect and always pairs great with a small glass Shiner. Bread pudding was giant, and their service was perfection.

Had an absolutely wonderful experience tonight at Texaz. Our server Joey was incredibly friendly, warm and welcoming. Service was exceptional and we never wanted for anything. The smoked prime rib was out of this world good and very solid value. Highly recommended for a great neighborhood spot with awesome food at incredibly reasonable prices.

Very unique spot. Menu is very simple and prices are a bit high in my opinion. Service was great. Food portions for the entrees are pretty big and so is the kids plates. Food was super flavorful and drinks were spot on.

Just what I would expect in East Texas, but not here in Phoenix. A perfect roadhouse style restaurant. The decor is cool, the ambiance lively and the staff are really personable. The food we had was perfect Texas! Smoked Prime rib, tender, great smoke flavor and cooked perfectly, Mashed potatoes and an extremely delicious, a perfect gravy. Fried Okra cooked just past done made it really crispy. We also had the catfish which was crispy on the outside and very juicy inside. I will be making many trips back.

The food was a breath of fresh, especially having come from a similar themed place with lesser quality product. I will definitely be coming back here and telling more friends about this place!! #godsavedthequeen

Bring your appetite or someone to share cause you get a lot of food per order. Bad thing is that it's so good you continue to eat when you're full and then peach cobbler with ice cream. There is a plate that has their country fried chicken, pork, and steak all on one plate that should come with a warning. So good that you will over eat. Better then mom's. You will forget to leave room for desert. It's ok to take some leftover home. Definitely recommend, the atmosphere and the way you are treated makes this one of my favorites. No picture cause I couldn't wait started to eat, burnt my mouth but would still do it again.

Our food was great. One of the wait staff brought my son a toy chest for him to pick 2 from. It's included along with a small ice cream with kids meals. He loved it. A family atmosphere for sure.
