Love the corned beef and the deli counter with all the baked goods and desserts! What a treat to visit Chompies!
This place is an institution. I've been eating here for close to 30 years, since their 32st and Shea location. You won't find better.

Authentic Deli Delights at Chompie's in Phoenix
Chompie's in Phoenix is a veritable treasure trove for anyone craving the comforting embrace of a traditional Jewish deli. From the moment I walked in, the wafting aroma of freshly baked bagels and the bustling atmosphere promised a fulfilling dining experience.
The bagels here are an absolute must-try, boasting the perfect balance of chewy and soft, they are a testament to Chompie's authenticity. The sliders, especially the pastrami sandwich, are crafted with care, featuring tender meat that's rich in flavor, sandwiched between slices of fresh bread.
Their pastrami sandwich is a standout — succulent, perfectly seasoned, and generous in portion, making it a hearty and satisfying choice. For those who prefer the classics, the matzo ball soup is a bowl of comfort, with fluffy matzo balls in a savory broth that warms you to the core. And for seafood lovers, the clam chowder soup, as well as the fish and chips, offer a delightful twist to the deli experience.
The lox is a delicate and flavorful option, paired beautifully with the bagels, while the corned beef sandwich competes fiercely for the best sandwich spot, with its savory layers of corned beef. The chopped liver is another traditional dish that's made to perfection, rich and full of flavor.
Breakfast at Chompie's is an event in itself, with a range of options that cater to all morning cravings. But it's not just the food that makes Chompie's special; it's also the staff. Every server contributes to the warm and welcoming atmosphere, offering attentive service that makes you feel like part of the family.
In conclusion, Chompie's delivers on all fronts — authentic Jewish deli fare, a wide variety of options, and staff who go out of their way to ensure a great dining experience. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or a snack, Chompie's in Phoenix is a spot that shouldn't be missed.
Chompies is a Charming piece of New York found in Arizona. Family came here way back and have been bringing homemade bakery and food items for a long time. This location has a store and deli on one side with sit down area on the other. They offer a wide variety of kosher items for the Jewish community. The burger and Reuben were yummy. The cheesecake is amazing, not pictured sorry. Service was friendly and on time. Very family friendly. Would come here again for when I am looking for a decent burger, bakery items, and a decent cheesecake.
As a first timer i was impressed. The vibe and atmosphere as soon as you walk in is nice clean friendly open.
Anthony, our server was charismatically pleasant and helpful.
The food portion was huge and deliciously made with love.
What a wonderful meal! Would 10/10 recommend! They have a huge variety for items to choose from! I got the Buffalo chicken sandwich and being from buffalo ny, it was amazing! They gave up complementary treats for being a first timer, and gave us water for our pup! We were able to sit outside and they had the nice water trickling down so it felt cool!
Came here mid-morning for breakfast/brunch. There wasn't a long wait to eat but there were quite a bit of people. The place is really cute. When you walk in, it's like a little shop/coffee kiosk/ bakery, then to the right there is the restaurant that has plenty of seating and a nice bar. I ordered the strawberry shortcake pancakes but unfortunately they were out of strawberries but they easily substituted blueberries for me! It was so delicious and a huge meal. I can't wait to go back, just bring your appetite.
Looking at the decore was so fun, all New York, East Coast vibes! The seating was comfortable, and the food was plenty! We been there for breakfast and lunch, and both were delicious. I highly recommend the deli sandwiches and pickup some desserts to take home from the bakery. I love their home roasted coffee, a must try!☕️ 💕
Chompie's has a great culture both from a standpoint of how well everything is run and the commitment to the customer. The menu is rich with many tasty options to choose from...always fresh. And the deil counter is just amazing (especially the baked goods 😍).
Food here was amazing and the prices where even more amazing. I got 2 LARGE pancakes the size of a cooking pan. For 9 dollars!
I have only ever purchased Chompie's products in stores. So when I saw that I could visit a physical storefront I was all for it. The bagels were absolutely delicious. The right amount of chewy. I got the blueberry, everything and onion. The blueberry tastes like blueberry pancakes. The schmear is so creamy and decadent. I also got a sandwich, a package of cookies, a giant chocolate chip cookie and the mimosa package. The package of cookies were pretty basic, nothing to write home about, but good. The giant cookie was very good and had the right amount of chewy and crunch. Also they didn't skimp out chocolate chips. The sandwich was also delicious, with plenty of meat. The high protein low carb bread tasted like regular bread. The mimosas were good, but a little expensive for the orange juice. Overall definitely recommend.
Overall good experience we had servers checking on us constantly which was nice. Also we didn’t like one of the dishes and we were accommodated with a with a new dish which made us feel heard with no hesitation will definitely be coming again.service was fast as well even though they were busy

Service is certainly better now. Prices seem a little higher than when I last visted in 2022, but I guess it’s to be expected.
I absolutely love their garlic bagels. I used to like the everything bagel the best, but no more.

It’s nice that they’re finally open. The open bakery counter is a pretty nice design, but service can be Heinz ketchup slow. They were out or low on many of the bagels we wanted. And they shorted us one bagel, even.
On Wednesday, they have an extra 6 bagels for free. However, that’s not quite right, as they give you a bakers dozen (13) normally. So they only give you 12+6=18, and not 13+6=19. Why not just advertise it honestly as 13+5?
Got an eclair that was nice tasting. Not cheap, certainly.
Out of the many staff members there, only one was masked. I guess I’m just too used to most food service people who interact with customers wearing masks.
Very cool vibe of the New York style theme. The decor was old Americana and pleasing to look at. The service was top notch. Our waiter was outstanding! It was pretty busy but he did his absolute best to take care of us. He had a very unique personality and we all enjoyed him immensely. Now to the food, well, it wasn't amazing! The Home Fries were kinda blah. Something you could do at home for sure. When I order breakfast from a restaurant or any meal for that matter, I want to be wowed, like it would be hard to replicate the flavor at home. The Home Fries were basically half mashed grilled cubed potatoes with very little flavor. They would be great the next day heated up in a frying pan with some butter and seasoning. My Country Fried steak was pretty good. The steak itself was a basic cube steak which is common for a country fried steak. The breading on the meat was the best part of the meal. It had Good flavor. The gravy was ok. All together, it was a little above average. My wife had the Baja Omelette. It was fresh but very bland. She was ok with it but she didn't think there was anything to write home about 😜 The other two meals were a breakfast enchilada and the Monte Cristo. Again, they were both just average in flavor. The overall experience was a 4 star for the service and the atmosphere. The prices are pretty good and you definitely get good portions. As a matter of fact we all took extra home with us. I would come back again just to try some other things on the menu.
Great food! From the fresh bagels and house roasted coffee to soul satisfying soups and one of the best Ruben sandwiches in Phoenix everything is top quality. This morning my daughter and I shared eggs Benedict and NY style French toast. I’ve been eating at Chompie’s since it was at the PV Mall and I’ve never had a bad meal or bad service
The Host was extremely friendly in sharing the history with us first-timers visiting. Recommend the corn beef sandwich! Delicious!! The only downside was my take out meal was incorrectly prepared, and we didn't feel like driving back for it to be corrected.
A bit expensive but good food that's hard to find at other places. Large menu. Has both a dining area & a counter to order like a deli. Good selection of breads & sweets & novelty items in their store area. Has both inside & outdoor dining.
Excellent food & service! We sat at the bar for lunch. The bartender was fun & efficient. Tons of menu options including several mimosa flavors and a bloody Mary bar. We had the Stevie Gs sando and the Philly. Both were fantastic! They even serve breakfast all day (except benedicts only until 3pm). We will definitely be back.
It's always a great experience.. fresh pickles, great staff, and great ambiance.. Love this place..
