Overall very good flavors and service. One problem, the menu posted online is out of date and prices are no higher. This made it a problem when I placed a Takeaway order.
I got a green chili burro Enchilada style with red sauce; very good. Chile relleno was huge, and good (nothing wrong) but not memorable. Hardshell machacha taco was surprisingly good.
Overall, I would recommend this to friends.
I went last night with coworkers and had a large mango margarita. It was truly one of the best drinks that I have had in my life, and I can promise you, I have had more than a couple drinks. The spicy lime on the rim just added to it, and the ice was blended totally smooth into the drink. I ordered the first combination which had a crispy beef taco, cheese enchilada, and I think it was a bean tostada (forgive me if I have that wrong). The cheese that was on top of everything was freshly shredded that day. I was only able to eat about 2/3 of my plate. In particular, I really liked the beef taco. I would go again if I am traveling through. Friendly service, too!
A strong 4.5. I have been looking for the best place in Phoenix and think I may have found it. The Chile Verde is to die for. I can't wait to try something different on my next trip to town. Legit! Check it out.
I love Rosita's Place, one of my favorite Mexican spots. Â Great menudo, chile verde, and mole, with my favorite order the machaca enchilada with chile verde sauce.
Best Food in Town. I have eaten here for a smooth minute now. Which equates to 20 plus years. The food is, bar none, some of the best in town. If you are looking for good down home mexican food, this is the place to go. The salsa's are not for the weak of heart. The chips are always fresh out of the frying pan and onto your table. Friendly staff, plenty of food for your dollar. The only thing that could be better is if they delivered..LOL. Thanks guys for your years and years of feeding me....
Long-time Fan of Rosita's. The best consistent down-to-earth local Tex-Mex in the Valley. Chains come and go, but Rosita's Place rules. Check the pickup trucks in the rear parking lot - these are locals who know a good spot. The two chili sauces, red and green with the chips make your head sizzle ~ a green corn tamale, machaca taco and a beer are my choices; there is a lot of food if you order plates so we order ala carte. Discovered Rosita's in the late 80s at their original location before they were forced to move because of I-10 construction. Worth a visit!
One of my favorite places. Try the red chile beef burro!
Words can not describe..... Easily my favorite Mexican restaurant on the PLANET.
Their salsa is incomparable.
LOVE ROSITA'S. FANTASTIC!!!!!! My son from Denver comes down to Pheonix area about two to three times a year, and wouldn't think of NOT going to Rosita's Place. He is a lover of Mexican food and says Rosita's is THE VERY BEST!!!!!!!
Truly authentic Mexican! Get the Muchacha enchilda style burrito and you won't be disappointed! Chips and salsa hot but worth it. Great atmosphere, service and prices. We will be back!
THE BEST FOOD FOR TRUE MEXICAN TRAINED TASTE BUDS. If your from snobbsdale or any other sunburnt populated area your best bet is to go to taco bell in which you know the menu best. I've been eating here since i was 9 years old and my true mexican mothers cooking i was spoiled with. Since finding this place the same waitress ive seen back then is STILL HERE!! This food is rank if not better than my mothers cooking back in the day... she knows. I'm 22 now and if its still in business in the heart of phoenix, they have to be doing something right.
Soooo Good!. For good, authentic mexican food you must try this spot. They have the most delicous beans I have ever had and such (I can't even think of a word powerful enough to describe it) guacamole. The Muchaca is wonderful too! My mouth waters thinking about it!
One of the Best Sonoran Mexican Home Cooking in Phoenix. In spite of the huge numbers of Mexicans and Mexican Americans living in Phoenix, the Phoenix Mexican food scene is far inferior to Tucson's. However, there are a couple of bright shining stars that are an exception, and Rosita's Place is one of them. Whereas most Mexican restaurants in the Valley of the Sun tend to dumb down--or numb down--their cooking to suit Anglo tastes, Rosita's Place doesn't. They cook their classic Sonoran-style Mexican food the way God meant it to be served and how your mother would cook it if she really loved you! If you want real Sonoran-Mexican food, this is one of the few places you can find it in Phoenix. If you want watered-down, flavorless Mexican food, save your money and go to Taco Bell.
First time i ate at rositas great food, hot chips, good salsa, but poor service. . . Everyone has an off i would return: )
Yummy. I love this place. My buddy introduced me to this place years ago and I have enjoyed it ever since. The food is very good. I would consider it some of the best authentic mexican food I have eaten. If they tell you something is hot believe them. My buddy didn't listen to the advice of one of the waitresses and he paid the price. He likes hot things and usually has no problems with them. He couldn't finish burrito and was sweating quite a bit before he finally gave up because of the heat.
Stellar food, average service. This (along with Los Dos Molinos) is arguably the best mexican restaurant in the city. I've been here 20 years and tried it for the first time 5 years ago after many friends recommended it. Dozens of visits later, this place gets a big thumbs-up. The food is spicy and full of flavor, and not quite as spicy hot as Los Dos. The chips and salsa include a green and a red salsa, and both are very hot. The owners can usually be seen on-site. The service is generally on the slow side. I've seen the place packed with only one waitress on duty, and she was almost pulling it off. But for the most part she'll take your order, deliver your order, MAYBE ask if you need a refill, and bring the check if you waive your arms at her. So be ready for that and allow an hour. The food is worth it. The rice might be the best in town, the beans ARE the best in town.
Note: you park in the back, and drive to the left side of the building both entering and leaving.
This place is not related to Rosita's Fine Mexican Food, with locations in Mesa and Tempe.
First time to this established place. Chips were Hot & Fresh...Very Hot! The food was wonderful. I will go back!
Great Place. I've been going here for 20 years. It's had it's ups and downs but still a great favorite of mine. Nice hot chips and hot salsa at the table. Authentic machaca , great refried beans. and the margaritas........
Love this place. Food is delicious - remmend eggs with chorizo or machaca. Chips are hot when they arrive at your table. Lots of business people and medical workers go here for lunch.
Family-run, hot chips, 2 types of salsas (red and green). Mexican plates served piping hot and often slathered in melted cheese to a bubbling perfection. The food never disappoints. The red and green chili dishes taste like the worlds best abuela chef simmered them up just for you. Mexican Comfort Food is what Rosita's is. The only downside is the service is typically pretty slow and be warned you will be charged $1 for the chips and mostly spicy (but yummy) salsas. But these are minor in comparison to the large and delicious portions and decent prices for such honored traditional Mexican comida. Also, if you've never been there, be careful on how you enter and exit the parking lot -it could be tricky for newcomers. Don't be intimidated - just go and try it.
Best Food Coma. Nothing makes a weekend morning better than plying yourself from a slumber and heading to Rosita's for the best damn Mexican food in Phoenix. The salsa knocks me out everytime, and the burros enchilada style make my heart sing, if not try their best to make it stop. This place is such a guilty pleasure that I rarely take anyone along, as I don't want to wait even longer for a table. Selfish, I know, but until I can figure out how to take something as simple as a cheese crisp with green chile strips and make it so delicious that I'd sell my kids for them, I don't want to share. So go and enjoy, just not when I'm going.
Best Green Corn Tamales. We don't get to go to Rosita's place often because it's so far from where we live, but it's always a treat when we do. It's worth the drive. If you like green corn tamales, I've never had one as good anywhere. They are the best. The refried beans are better here than anywhere else, too. If you like spicy salsa, you will like it here. They serve their chips with green and red salsas--both hot. I prefer the green one, but watch out. A little goes a long way!
One letter and One word... E YUM!. This place is truly a gem. Great food, great value, great service!!! I have a favorite server who has been there forever. Seriously I think she has worked there for 30 years or so. I would tell you her name but I don't want to share. Sorry! Anyway they have the best refried beans in all of Phoenix and I just can't stop eating the green salsa everytime I go. The worst thing about this place is I seem to get a tummy ache following most visits for eating way too much! Chiques is the best too! Oh crap I just gave away her name! Oh well she deserves the recognition!
It's always a great dining experience. The fresh hot out of the fryer chips are so delicious! The Salsa Verde & Red salsa are spicy and will make your head sweat 😓 in a good way... more chips and salsa, please. I ordered the Carne Asada Burrito 🌯 Enchilada style with green sauce, and it was amazing as always. The amount of guacamole 🥑 was perfect. This was a meal that I ended up taking home with me for tasty leftovers. If you've been craving some authentic Mexican 🇲🇽 food, Rosita's is the place. If you haven't been yet, what are you waiting for?
We had the Cheese Crisp, Cheese Enchilada, Tamale, Chimichanga.
Food was fresh, atmosphere on point. Our server was attentive. Would go back 💯 %
Very good food and great customer service. This place has generous portions and very authentic and delicious food.
Simply the best homestyle Mexican food in the Phoenix metroplex. The menudo is not to be missed. One of the few restaurants I've been to where people line up to get in prior to the doors opening.
We were recommended this place by someone in Mesa, AZ so we drove all the way from San Tan Valley to Phoenix to go! (it took us over an hour) I was so happy when I saw the menu! FINALLY FINALLY SOME MEXICAN FOOD I AM FAMILIAR WITH! (We are from Colorado). It is Amazing! We had the Chile Rellenos (I had the chicken one). Mine was Full Of chicken! So good! The menu has numerous options which makes it so hard to choose from which is a great problem to have! I loved that! So we were very pleased with our food/visit! We will definitely be back & so worth the drive!
Don’t mind the disaffected teen manning the cash register… Happens in generational family businesses. Been coming here for 30+ years, and the rest of place is as great as it’s always been!
The food is top-notch, take-couple-months-off-your-life-expectancy delicious, and the environment is charming and warm. The service is friendly and super-busy-diner-efficient.
I highly recommend a brunch of huevos rancheros w flour tortilla (the best ever!) and a chorizo taco on the side (that I like to disassemble and mix into with rest).
Cozy, humble place with wide menu and good service.
Ordered white menudo, albondigas, and a green tamale. They asked if we wanted chips, which they charge for, and we said no, but they brought them, anyway, and charged us for them. The food was amazing. It's hard to find white menudo in Phoenix, but they have it, and it reminds my boyfriend of the white menudo his grandad would painstakingly make. Both soups had flavor broths, the tripe and hominy in the menudo tasted clean and had a lovely texture, and the meatballs in the albondigas were huge and satisfying. The tamale's masa was melted in our mouths, and the meat was so juicy and tender. The table salsas were hot! We could not stop eating them. Service was fine, aside from the chips we didn't want, and the place is cute, with hand-painted tiles all over the walls. Recommend going Tuesday or Saturday if you like cocido--that short rib stew is beautiful.
Nice hot chips to start. Excellant salsa. Ordered Chili o Verde. Food came out hot and fast. Very filling. Parking.... lots in the back, but VERY narrow passage past side of building in and out.
Rosita’s consistently serves great food, from portion size to quick serving. Our go to Mexican restaurant. If busy, if worth the wait.
Waitresses use to wear the matching skirts & no longer do. I thought the outfits in the past made the place more authentic.
Family owned and operated since 1964 we are a family style establishment serving Authentic style Sonoran mexican food. Their chips ate fresh and hot when brought to table. Me personally love their breakfast menu items. Chorizo, menudo red and white, and burritos..
Really good food at Rosita's Restaurant. Everything was well done. The menu was loaded with all kinds of options. This is rated in the top restaurants in Phoenix, like 160 out of 2,000. Service was good, and also the atmosphere. It has there nearly 60 years, opening in 1964.
We been coming rositas a over 10 years, we've always enjoyed the great food, chips and salsa along with the service. We were in yesterday and everything was great except our server Carmen. Took her sometime to place our order and we had to call her for more drinks and salsa, which she never checked on us. My wife asked for extra salsa and her response was (you have some there ) which she wanted for her food. I believe in the better the service, the better the tip.
Good place for lunch. Service was spot on. Loved their taco plate. The michelada came in a pretty big glass and really hit the spot with my delicious tasting taco plate. Chips were fresh and warm. The red and green salsa dip that came with the chips was hot. Glad I had that bud light as a chaser to put out that fire in my mouth. I'll be back again to Rosita's Place for sure and try something else on their menu that I know will be awesomely good. Yum!! Can't wait until next time.
Best refried beans I’ve EVER had (these are not vegetarian, made with meat drippings from the restaurant per the server). The salsa is very spicy, they serve red and green, both with quite a punch. Got to try red chile chimichanga, carne asada tacos, and carnitas, all excellent. All of the meats were tender and flavorful. It was hard to stop eating, which is rare for me. Leftovers reheated well in the oven, though. We tried to order the bread pudding, but it is only available during Lent. Will be coming back as soon as I can. Great pricing as well.
Past by it for the last 7 yrs and finally stopped in for dinner. The food is authentic and delicious. Nice size portions too. Will be back for sure. If it looks like there is no parking in the front, they have plenty of parking in the back.
