Great place to meet up and catch up with friends. The food was delicious and the Gluten free pizza was quite tasty. It looked bigger than 12 " and the leftovers tasted just as good next day.
The special Gelato- butter pecan- was delicious.
We had a very large group of 30, the manager was super nice over the phone taking our reservation. Our waitress was so nice and patient with everyone. Just a great staff and a great time
The house dressing is one of the best in the business! Pizza, salad, sandwiches it's everything you could need. They also have beer on tap! Outdoor patio when the weather is nice. Always a great atmosphere and service, which is why we go out of the way to eat here when we can.
The absolute go to spot for light dinner, excellent salad choices and fresh pasta. I like how they offer small/large food portions. If you like small portions, this works perfect. Great staff and service, all amazing! Very neat and clean. Perfect light and pretty cosy place. If you are ever in the area please stop by and enjoy the place! ⭐️❤️
Nello
Trevor, Steve, Garret and Miss, thank you all for working. We drove a distance just so we could eat amazing pizza, and it did not disappoint us. I have the deluxe, so tasty. I’ve been here in the past and had this pizza before pepperoni pizza, margarita pizza and salads, it’s all very good. They have a great outdoor deck, a lot of seating inside, very clean.
I WOULD RECOMMEND.
They and our family have been here for ~30 years and we have been steady customers all along. We all love the pizzas and salads; I recommend the Italian beef sub and pasta dishes. Va Bene!! (it's all good) :)
Nellos is my ALL TIME FAVORITE pizza place. They have other stuff too but I LOVE a good pizza. I also always order their salad with ribbon carrots and ham & turkey on it with their SPECIAL house vinaigrette. It is DELICIOUS!! We live over 2 hours away so whenever I'm in the Phoenix area, this is my restaurant. This time I saw that they made one of their chairs a tribute to a long-time customer who passed. This shows the heart this place has. Their customer mattered.
We are from the Midwest and we are spoiled when it comes to pizza. My husband and I thought we would try Nello's. The pizza was really good and the salad was adequate. The house dressing was delicious. The servers were attentive and friendly. Will go again when I get the craving for decent pizza.
We stopped in yesterday (6/30) for dinner. We have never ate here before. My wife loves pizza - me - not so much. We had the deep dish deluxe combo. It was amazing! We took a couple of slices home and was as good reheated in the frying pan! It is likely the only place in Phoenix that I have had pizza that I want to eat again.
A few suggestions - the service was pretty slow. They were busy but it was still too slow. It took over 2o minutes to get our food once seated. The staff was super nice but just seemed overwhelmed.
I would recommend some place for folks to wait that is not out in the heat during the summer. Overall - great place to eat and we will be going back.
Was pleasantly surprised last night by nello's when we stopped to get Italian style pizza at a place we've never been before. Was definitely not disappointed in our choice. I've never stopped in because I had the impression it was more of a sports bar, but we sat down at a table and I was wrong. There was a bar where you can still sit down, order drinks, and watch TV, but the dining service tables were very clean and the servers didn't feel rushed.
The menu was very straightforward but did include vegetarian and gluten-free options. The kids menu only had 3 $7 items: pizza, Mac and cheese, or chicken fingers, but that's basically all kids eat anyway.
My boyfriend and I both got pizza and even though I'm a New Jersey native and tend to side with all New York style pizzas, I was by far not disappointed. We ordered a side of french fries for our 2-year-old which came with parmesan and parsley on top but our server was very kind and quick to replace it with a fresh basket when we informed her of her dairy allergy.
We'll definitely be coming back to this location. Highly recommend.
My wife and I discovered this place about 2 weeks ago. We have eaten here four times since. I hate to share this with you with all this because it's a hidden treasure. The food is great, the prices are low, and the staff is great. I prefer the thick crust pizza over the thin, but it's not truly thick in the Chicago sense.
The prices on the happy hour appetizers are insane. We got the caprese salad board for $7 and it was worth twice that. The portions are large. See my picture of the chicken sandwich. It's huge. My only comment is sometimes the flavors are a bit intense. The garlic aioli on the chicken sandwich was a bit much. And the smoke flavor in The Bolognese sauce is a little extra too.
Nello’s is a staple in our household & has been for years. The food is always delicious - dine in or to go. Their wood fire pizza always hits the spot. Eat here - you won’t be disappointed.
I enjoy their lunch special 8" two topping pizza, house salad, and a drink. I like the pizza and I tell myself that the salad is healthy even though I know the toppings and dressing make it otherwise. The price has creeped up in the last couple of years just like everywhere else but this place stays on my rotation.
Pizza was very delicious and the sandwich i order was good i haven't had this sandwich since I was a little girl. My mom use to take me to this one sandwich shop in Chandler and the sandwich was called Italian beef.. thank you my family enjoyed it.
Such good pizza, salad and amazing happy hour deals! The staff is so nice too (we love Katie). We went to a beer dinner as well hosted by The Shop Beer Co. beer, Chef Memo and Nellos. Roque fit us in last minute and is such a nice/knowledge guy. Can’t wait for future events. Our new favorite spot down the street. What a gem!!!
Nello's has been in Ahwatukee for over 20 years. It has changed owners a few times and is no longer owned by the original Nello family. It is wood fired pizza, with a larger variety of food choices. Pizza are Chicago style crust and hand tossed. They used to have a thin crust, but it was replaced with hand tossed. The salads are good and they have a house dressing that has not changed, very good.
Extremely good food, especially the deserts. Ate on the patio. With the misters and sun shades it was fairly pleasant. The only real complaint was with the big group I came with they kept missing people to take their orders, and the server just had to ask every table out there if it was their food. Even that said it was at the dinner rush, and everything came out fast with no incorrect items.
