This is a great place to go in groups. the restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing; there’s such fun paintings, the lighting, the outdoor seating area.. it’s great. Not too many waiters that I saw, perhaps because it was slow. Their customer service was nice; very understanding and attentive. The pricing is amazing! Very very affordable; I paid less than 30 for two; including extra side and drink. The food was good. I wasn’t a fan of the potato salad or the excessive fat on the pork belly, but the wings were great; crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. not too spicy though; the Nashville hot was nowhere near as hot as I expected it to be, but it’s not necessarily a bad thing; they were still flavorful. As for the pork belly I had ordered, I’ve ordered it at other places before and really not a picky eater, but I could not stomach the extra fat; at times, it grossed me out to the point that I couldn’t finish it. Aside from the fat, the rest of the pork belly was delicious. The meat was flaky on the outside but juicy on the inside and the sauce was perfect. The mac & cheese is great not sure if it was oven baked or not, but definitely creamy.
The atmosphere has something for everyone! Chill with the hookah, DJ for the dancers, and basketball on TV for the spectators. The food was absolutely 😍 amazing! Staff was friendly. I recommend the pulled chicken and ALL of the sides. We each ordered different ones and the portions are big enough to share.
What an authentic experience. A unique take on bbq. From the beans using a sausage base vs. brisket. To the strawberry like jelly inspired sauce. I enjoyed it all! The service was amazing and entertaining! Low key place that should not be overlooked! Highly recommend!
Oh good God, this was phenomenal! Everything, was amazing and flavourful. Try the pink drink too! Brisket and Mac 'n cheese egg rolls!!! 🔥
The food is amazing ! Ordered the family platter comes with 4 meats 4 large sides ...greens have that southern kick ! Smoked Mac and cheese, black eye peas and baked beans ! Ordered the fish and a hotlink ..most definitely going back and the prices are extremely reasonable ..not pictured is "The Lou" highly recommended from the staff it is a beef brisket dawg topped with crunchy fried onions and their potatoe salad topped with their sauce ! Absolutely loved the atmosphere very urban and family oriented !
I really only utilize this app to bring awareness to excellent establishments that focus on customer service. Hands down, one of the most welcoming, accommodating and enjoyable atmospheres I have been in Phoenix for a long time. Ashley S helped my party navigate through the menu and made incredible cocktails. Thank you so much babe.
What really took the cake for me was the tenderness of the bbq. Compliments to the chef(s). I am actually FLOORED on the entire experience.
Kudos to the owner- Phil- I wish you all the prosperity. You really have embodied the dining experience and have elevated the expectation for the food dining experience
I loved it and can't wait to go back . Every dish was flavorful and made with love. Tender meat, juicy chicken, mouth savory sides...oh, and the cornbread...delicious! Also had very good service. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I absolutely loved the music playlist.
awesome place, good vibe, good people on the crew I was given the pleasure to encounter. it was Superbowl Sunday myself and a friend got 25 sliders of pulled chicken and pulled pork with the best bbq sauce I have had this side of the Mississippi 😎 and the sliders, which were slammed full of said good af BBQ....it was 25 dollars!!! such a killer deal for such good food! keep on keepin on Trapp Haus!!!
First time visiting AZ and I was on a hunt to find some good bbq. The hunt ended early when I stopped in this black owned restaurant in the heart of Downtown phoenix. The food was delicious from the meat to the sauce and they had so many options to choose from. I ordered the loaded bbq chicken fries and also the soul rolls both were a hit! Great vibes in this restaurant, great customer service and good music !
10/10 #blackownedbusiness
Ordered several family platters (food not depicted in pictures) - it definitely did not disappoint. They definitely have a talent with the smoker. One recommendation is to not have fountain machine maintenance scheduled for peak lunch hour 12:00 - but that’s me being nit picky.
Great place to eat and enjoy the company of friend and family. The relaxed atmosphere in this Southern BBQ joint leaves you wanting more. The staff are friendly and very accommodating and provide prompt and friendly customer service. Food is absolutely fantastic and the restaurant is spotless. I highly recommend this place! Don't forget to ask for the military/veterans/law enforcement discount. Only reason for not getting 5 stars is the place is a little small so it is a little challenging to dine with more than just a couple of friends.
Stumbled upon this place and we weren't disappointed! The sweet tea was perfectly thirst quenching. Ordered the Trapp platter w/ 2 meats Brisket & pulled pork w/ mac & cheese side, baked beans & potato salad. Everything was delicious!!! I also ordered the wings because they were a dry rub. Those were also very tastey and cooked to perfection! Only thing I needed was salt & pepper & some crisp bacon for my mac & cheese! Otherwise def recommend!
The food here is to die for - melt off the bone ribs and finger licking good wings. Oh boy, I’m waiting to come back for more. The flavours are really well balanced - not overpoweringly sweet like many bbq places I’ve tried. There is the Smoky aroma and the perfectly charred meat, succulent and juicy on the inside. Even the dipping sauces were very flavourful. You could tell that they use quality meat and ingredients and put love into their cooking. Definitely worth a visit when you’re in the Phoenix area!!
Great BBQ right in the heart of Phoenix. This first picture is of a half pound of pulled pork that we ordered. They don't have any beer on tap, but the canned bet they had was awesome and varied. With BBQ it usually comes down to the sauce since the pig doesn't change much and at Trapp House you won't be disappointed with one great BBQ sauce and one spicy one!
This was visit here and it was a good one. There was a little bit of a wait for a party of six. This is a smaller restaurant so have a big party here would be a little tough but they make it work.
The food was great. I read some of the other reviews and was concerned. But honestly the food was very good. All of the meat was cooked very well and was not dry like some places. I had the ribs pulled pork brisket and the chicken all were juicy and very flavorful. The sides I chose were fries, macaroni and cheese, baked beans and collard greens, and potatoe salad. All of the sides had a Unique flavor and was very tasty.
The staff was very friendly. It seemed like they Needed a little more help on the floor with busing and seating people but the ladies who were working did a great job taking care of everyone in a timely manner.
This establishment was very busy. And because they were so busy. I was afraid that it would take a long time to receive my order. But as soon as my order was placed my food came out fairly quickly, which I was happy about.
All around good night.
