Great new place to get some amazing sushi and food. A new and friendly place with a very authentic/modern fusion vibe! The owner is very nice and excited to bring his food to uptown! Get the Baja roll, Gyozas, Godzilla roll. Next I got to try the Ninja Roll and the pretty hot girl!
We stopped by for happy hour/early dinner. Our first visit. Such a lovely surprise. My husband, who doesn’t eat rice or seaweed, loved the seared tuna sashimi and the lollipop roll (no rice-wrapped in cucumber). Our amazing server David even arranged for a second version of the roll to give him some variety. I had tuna poke salad ( very fresh and satisfying) and the best salmon skin roll I have had to date! Staff were all friendly and very attentive. We will be back!
This place is amazing! The food is delicious and the staff is very attentive. Every time we go we have a wonderful experience, and they definitely value their regulars. This has definitely become our favorite sushi restaurant in Phoenix.

We came for Mother’s Day. We were promptly greeted and wished a “Happy Mothers day” All if the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious, and some great prices at Happy hour which is daily from 2-6 pm. I will definitely be back!
The food was great in those were some of the best Vegas rolls I’ve ever tasted in my entire life
Came here because it looked like a cool place and was really wanting sushi. The food was delicious and our waitress Iris was incredibly friendly and helpful!
I had the Bento Box excellent, reasonably priced. Atmosphere comfortable staff very friendly. Great place, if you haven't tried it ...you must.

This was so great! The staff was wonderful and the food was amazing. We had a party of 13 to celebrate a birthday and a musical performance. Both girls really wanted Japanese, but the performance was near downtown and trying to find a restaurant that was close, affordable and could accommodate our large group was not an easy task. We called in the morning as they were opening to see if they could handle our size party. Thank you so much to Yama Sushi House, Tony the chef and Jason our waiter who went out of their way to make our dinner celebration a memorable experience for all, including my 95 year old grandfather! We will definitely be back!
Best sushi spot in Phoenix. The staff is so friendly and the food is amazing...from sushi to ramen, you will love it!!
Love this place, so do my 5 and 8 year old boys. Great food, great staff
One of the best places in Phoenix we have been to, the chef cuts excellent pieces of Sashimi and the rolls were not gigantic so the pieces are easier to eat and dip on soy. The Miso soup was very good with nice pieces of veg and tofu.
Loved this place! I’m here on a business trip and decided to go here after reading the reviews! Decently priced and absolutely delicious!
The sushi was something different and service was top notch. They consistently checked on us to make sure we were doing alright. Cute little spot too!
Amazing food and staff!!! The wife and went two nights in a row!
Nice little sushi restaurant. The appetizers were fantastic. The sushi was good. The service was great. They offer both inside and patio dining.
My new favorite sushi place! Stepped in for happy hour and only 2 other tables were seated. Got a high top table to myself and ordered some gyoza to start. Got three different sushi rolls and my bill was around $30. Which I count as an absolute win! My server was so incredibly nice and didn’t mind at all that I was by myself.
This is the place for an incredible happy hour (2-6pm every day)! I have been here a few times and have loved the food, service, and ambiance every time.
Their spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and spicy crab are so great, especially when they are $4/roll during HH. Some of their specialty rolls are $7/roll during HH. You can’t beat the quality and price during this time.
I highly recommend their happy hour for a late lunch or early dinner! I’ll definitely be back!
Great sushi. Some places make my stomach feel a little off, but not this one. I love that they’re open on Sunday!!! Every other sushi place around us is closed on Sunday.
I highly suggest this place.
Would given 5 stars…. I do wish they had more parking and more spicy tuna roll options, but they always accommodate us with customizing how we want the rolls. The windows, soy sauce bottles, handles, bathrooms, and menus especially, are always incredibly dirty.
Everything I had was so very good! Honestly can't wait to go back and try more.
I did mostly sushi but the green mussels are a MUST.
The Green River Roll is fantastic and probably my favorite from this visit.
I got the seafood noodles and I was much too much curry for me but if you enjoy the curry flavors than you'll truly enjoy it.
The sake sangria is such a treat definitely get it.
**Parking is a little tricky. If they are full then you have to park on a side street or parking lot down the road
My friends and I tried a variety of items from the menu. Everything was delicious, I especially liked my selections; squid salad, dynamite roll and upside down cake for dessert! I will definitely be back to try the other menu items!
Writing this review because of how amazing the salmon skin roll was! I’m always on the hunt for a good crispy salmon roll and Yama definitely surpassed my expectations. There’s a lunch special from 11-2pm which involves a roll and 5 pieces of nigiri for $12, and then every day from 2-6 there’s a happy hour menu. I came at 1:45 and got the best of both worlds.
Probably worth 5 stars by most people’s standards, and they are definitely there. However I’ve had a really mean server the first time I came (today my server was lovely) and the parking is extremely difficult due to limited spaces — hence my 4 stars.
Will probably be back to rate 5 stars and also try more of their specialty rolls because they all look super aesthetically pleasing.
Seems like a great date spot, love the open patio.
I was completely satisfied with my experience. Yama Sushi House has a pretty typical "nice" sushi restaurant atmosphere with a quality wait staff and excellent food. The price is on the upper end of normal, but overall, it is a good value for what you get.
The food is absolutely amazing. It is high quality, fresh, and full of gentle flavor. The location is nice with tasteful decorations but there is almost no parking. This location is understaffed so service takes a long time (10 mins for a requested water refill). Note that seating is limited so you may want to call ahead about a reservation. If you have time to sit and talk, you may have to be a little louder than usual, but this would be the perfect place. It is refined, suitable for a little more than casual to light formal.

This place is really good. They have a great selection of sushi rolls and Sashimi. I ordered a bunch of stuff. I don’t remember all. I have done Dine in and delivery.
