On my way from work last night my husband asked me if I wanted to go out to eat. I wasn't feeling well / didn't eat much all day so I was more than happy to eat something (I was actually craving a LARGE pot of soup). Came to find out he picked out Shabu Fondue for our dinner spot! The word fondue means anything that is submerged in a common pot of hot stuff, not just cheese! In this case it's a large pot of broth (you can pick on or two) and then you pick your sides to be cooked in the broth. They are vegetarian friendly, and their jasmine tea is delicious! Our bill was $50 and we were both sooooo full. The only downside were the anoki mushrooms, which were good but just really hard to separate. Definitely coming back!
Went here on a recommendation, and was not disappointed!! Amzaing, amazing food, environment was mad chill! To the point of this restaurant could be picked up and dropped in any downtown environment and thrive. The entire vibe was on point. Come here for a date, and you have knocked it out of the park !! Waitstaff is helpful and friendly, and attentive without hovering. A great experience, and I cannot wait to return
I dont come here often enough. I definitely enjoy the food each time I'm here. Things I wish they would improve on though is extending the happy hour to both sides of the restaurant. Also improving professionalism of waitress that can be over heard complaining about other guests. Dont know who she was talking about but our guess is she wanted to make sure everyone heard. All in all, great place to try.
Took my wife here for a date. The shared pot of broth and plates or ingredients really brought us together. I had the spicy lemongrass broth, an assortment or meat, veggies, and other ingredients. Everything was delicious. The server helped us with our selections and cook times. We had a great time.
Let me start by saying the food was delicious! When you first enter you are in an entry way to what looks like 2 restaurants , well it's the same place. One room is for the shabu the other is for plate Thai food. The shabu, the room I was in, is a bit dark but well decorated. We started with dumplings that were mouth watering! We ordered the regular, split broth and chose the spicy broth and miso broth. The spicy broth was not super spicy, but I eat pepper with everything so I'm biased. The Thai tea was delicious, but there are no refills. The sodas are canned so obviously no refills either. Water is free, so drink up! There are 2 sauces provided at the table one is soy, the other is orange, I forgot to ask what it was, and it was my favorite. The Orange sauce in the spicy broth was life changing!!! I will definetely be back!
A fun place to have a good time and experience something different. I came here with a group of friends. The food was delicious. I particularly enjoyed different meets.
This was my first experience w/Shabu cuisine and it was most satisfying. It was exactly like the Chinese Hot Pot I so enjoyed at another Valley location.
The service is great! The food fresh and excellent quality! The menu full of delectables that will satisfy the hungriest of guests. The food cart the items are delivered on were fun and it almost seemed as if we were being served room service from a hotel. All the items were delivered to the table at the same time so there was no going back-and-forth with it.
I had ginger beer for the first time and I went to Total Wines and even Trader Joes looking for it because it was just that satisfying. And boy did it help w/food digestion because it's very easy to overstuff yourself here.
It's delectable. It's adventurous. It's great eating! Enjoy!
Depends on what time you get here its a long wait but well worth it food is amazing even waiting in the bar next to shabu the atmosphere is very laid back, great service either side..
This is a very enjoyable although can be expensive experience. Under no circumstances should you allow the waiter to convince you to order more food. There is absolutely no reason one person needs three to four dishes. With two people we ordered two steak dishes, a chicken dish, a broccoli dish, jasmine rice and rice noodles and that was way too much. Not complaining about the price but would have shaved $12 if we didn't over order.
However food is exceptionally good and service was okay.
We decided to get out of our box and give Shabu Fondue a try. We are so glad we did! We stopping in around 6:45pm on a Saturday night and we were seated quickly. We had the coconut curry broth and then had the steak, chicken, shiitake mushrooms, broccoli, rice noodles, rice, watercress for our items to put in the pot. They explained how long for cooking times for each item. The broth was very flavorful and the food was great. Some people complained about the pricing but we felt it was great value for how much you get. The portions of each item was quite large. Our bill came to $44 before tip and we felt that was great value for the quality, quantity and service. We will definitely be coming back to Shabu.
What a great hole in the wall! Hardly had to wait at all for dinner time on a Friday night. Excellent service, they're incredibly helpful and happy to answer any questions or make suggestions. Hot pot ingredients are portioned well for the price, you could definitely split 3 add ins between two people. Sated my craving for some mouth numbing Ma La and there were plenty of non-spicy options for my husband. Definitely would go here again.
Great place to eat with family. They have stoves in the middle of the table where they put the soup. You then place your raw vegetables and raw meat into the soup and let them cook. They tell you the cook times for everything. The veggies and meat add a lot of flavor.
Loved this place. Not only is it a new experience, but I find myself wanting to go back almost every day! Reasonably priced, with great food and great service. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for great food and an awesome experience.
Awesome first Shabu-Shabu experience! Everything was delicious and what a cool experience to share with friends/family. You will be shocked at how affordable this is to feed a table full of people, and so much fun! Be prepared to sweat a little...with all those tables of pots and foods boiling in aromatic broths, it definitely is humid and warm inside. Staff were awesome :-)I am definitely going back!
I already knew going in that fondue is something you don't rush through, so I expected the dinner to take time. Although the restaurant was busy, and I only saw two servers, they managed to keep our drinks full and provided excellent food. I brought some friends who hadn't ever tried fondue before. Despite the wait to be seated and the time it took the food to come out, we had a great time and they were won over by the flavor and quality of the experience. Nicely done!
The space is a weird shape and it is run as a "second restaurant" with the Thai place next door. But make no mistake, the food is really good. Go heavy on the meats when you order. You'll find the most enjoyment out of them.
Fun place to cook and eat amazing food.
I love this place, the food is outstanding. I've deducted a star for poor wait staff. You have beg for service here and sometimes it's because they don't have enough staff and sometimes it's just...I don't know they just don't come around. I shouldn't have to ask three time for a utensil.
With that said, the food is outstanding.
