Nice spot, make sure someone actually speaks Spanish, none of the employees spoke English. Best place to go early in the morning after a night out drinking. The menudo is popular at this place, it was on every table in the restaurant. I wish it had more flavor. I ordered the large bowl and wish I got the beef soup like my friends did. Drinks are awesome from Mexico in the glass bottles..
Wetos are welcome here!
If you can look past the run-down facade with its patchy roof tiles and sun wrecked signage, you’re in for a tasty Mexican meal at Menudoria Guanajuato.
As a kid, I part-timed it in various kitchens around town and found my Mexican workmates friendly, hard working, and always willing to poke fun of the Chico blanco flaca working alongside them.
So both times I’ve eaten here I was the lone white face in a sea of hispanic faces and felt right at home.
I chose traditional Menudo Rojo (they don’t serve pozole) with a side of toasted bread. Once I tossed in chopped onions, cilantro, and fresh lime, I got to “gettin’ busy” eating.
The customer service and meal were equally satisfying and I left Menudoria Guanajuato full bellied, and looking forward to my next visit.
This place has been on my list for about two years and my experience was great! The menudo was flavorful and an important thing to note was the temperature, it was perfect 👌. Not too hot to burn your mouth and not too cold. The chips were a little chewy which means they weren't left in the fryer for long enough or they were old chips but the salsa served with them was so delicious. The server's were very polite and made sure to make our meal one to remember. I look forward to visiting again.
If you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, you should definitely check out this hidden gem. The restaurant is unassuming from the outside, but inside you'll find a warm and welcoming space that's perfect for a casual meal with friends or family.
The menu features a variety of traditional Mexican dishes, but the standout item is definitely the menudo. The menudo is rich and flavorful, with tender beef tripe and a spicy red broth that's sure to warm you up on a chilly day.
But what really sets this place apart is the friendly and attentive service. The staff are always happy to make recommendations, answer questions, and make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your meal.
Overall, if you're a fan of Mexican cuisine and you're in the area, you owe it to yourself to check out this hidden gem. With great food, a cozy atmosphere, and friendly service, it's definitely worth a visit.
I liked the menudo, I should have asked for tortillas instead of bread. If Paco is not the owner, he hustles the place like he is. I liked the service as well. The hotel behind the place is abandoned, but the food made up.
The food is really good I give a 10 & service is okay depends who served you. The only complaint is that they over charge you, you need to watch out. My total was 30.50 and the girl was charging me $42, we were 3 people in the table and it’s not the 1st time they over charge.. then when you tell them the girl tells you “it’s the taxes” ?? 12 dlls of taxes 🤔🤔 there’s no way. They add their tip on your check even if you leave them tip on the table..
Had to wait a bit and, unfortunately, they took our number down wrong so we had to go check up on when we’d be seated. Upon letting them know, they sat us immediately and our server arrived to take our drink order right away. I really liked the service. Very attentive, we had different staff members check up on us multiple times. The food made it to our table in a very timely manner, as well.
I got some chicken sopes. They were so good, the sope tasted fresh, it was crispy outside, soft inside and held up well even with all the toppings. The only thing I’d do different is add diced tomatoes. The salsa is so good!! It’s runny but chunky and spicy!
My honey got the menudo with hominy. It satisfied his menudo craving but it wasn’t the masterpiece we were expecting from reading the reviews. Everything is fairly priced. The menudo comes in 2 sizes, I do recommend getting the smaller one unless you eat a LOT. My honey couldn’t even finish the large and he’s a man with a healthy appetite. It’s a lot of bang for your buck.
Also tried the agua fresca de piña, it tastes so good, not too sweet, tastes like something my grandma made.
I went later in the day on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving so there was none of the crowds and the wait that people seem to get bent out of shape about.
For Covid precautions they ask that you wash your hands at a sink right at the entrance. I miss the menudo that my mother used to make, so I ordered the medium bowl of menudo rojo. It comes with all the fixings; chopped cilantro and onion, salsa, and limes. Also included is a generous amount of corn tortillas. They ask if you want hominy included, and I said, "bring it on", con maiz. I also ordered the Gordita with chicharrón and beans.
Without the crowds, I got great service, with large portion sizes, at a good price. Can't ask for more.
The waiter had the best recommendations and knowledge of the menu. Some of the best spicy food I’ve ever had. Parking lot was full, there was a wait, so we knew it would be good. Will not disappoint
Excellent Authentic Mexican good restaurant. Tables and booth like tables. They serve you chips and salsa first then they take your order. They have music in the background not to high or to low. The food was great!!
Everything is good about this place. The food is amazing. It’s like eating at grandmas house you’re not gonna go away hungry. They are open for breakfast and lunch. If you like menudo this is probably the best in Phoenix. Menudo Rojo Con o Sin Maiz with or without corn.
Nice verities of food brought up from Irapuato Mexico 🇲🇽
Irapuato is a Mexican town (and municipality) located at the foot of the Arandas Hill (in Spanish: Cerro de Arandas), in the south central region of the state of Guanajuato. It lies between the Silao River and the Guanajuato River, a tributary of the Lerma River, at 1,724 m (5,656 ft) above sea level

It was very good. A solid and well put together bowl of menudo. Was it the best ever? No, but close. I can't wait to go back and try the other things on the menu. The restaurant was very clean and the service was very good.
Authentic flavor of the Mexican cuisine , I recommend the menudo and costillas plate, enchiladas are great too.
