Loved the pierogi!! So smooth and delicious.. I tried 3 flavours of chicken and their sauces were amazing, it was juicy as well. Too bad the sauces were only on the outside and not too penetrated to the bone. Fruity beer (forgot the name).. a bit average for my liking. I enjoyed my visit here, truly one of a kind experience

We arrived on a Friday afternoon and we didn’t have a problem finding a place to park. We were seated rather quickly. There was a decent crowd in there, and it took a little bit for a waiter to come around but he was super friendly. It was awesome that I was able to get a flight of all of their beers on tap. I gave most of them a good score. I enjoyed the cauliflower dish. I ordered as well. I also snuck some of my sons french fries. The inside of the place is beautiful as you would expect of in a church. The pews have been position to be around individual tables. I didn’t get the story about the meteorite on display near the restrooms, but it’s very cool addition to the experience. I can’t wait to go back.

Had a very enjoyable dining experience. Unique and interesting atmosphere. Food was very tasty. Deep fried brussel sprouts and malted bread pudding are just two of the numerous items that we found delectable. Our server, Savannah, was personable, friendly, helpful and informative. She is the perfect example that all servers should aspire to be like.

This is a beautiful old church in all its glory, doing what the good Lord intended for us to do with churches: drink beer. While they sadly don't have an array of sours, the two Dunkels that I sampled had a bit of tartness to them. The food was fantastic. We got 4 different plates and two appetizers. The solidly good plates were eclipsed by ye exceptional plates. There was not a bad bite in the bunch. I will totally be back to try more.

This place was so unique! The church was beautiful and the food felt like it was good quality and fresh (the chicken sandwich was marinated so well!). Our server was sweet and personable and the beer was spot on! We will absolutely be back soon!

The service and atmosphere is amazing. I would not get the steak again, but the rest of the food was AMAZING! The flight was very good price, and ended up buying some glasses and a growler to take back home. Will be first stop if/when am back in Pittsburgh again.

Date of visit Sat June 24th We have visited the Church Brew works several years ago when we were last in Pittsburgh, so this trip, we needed to go back. The fact that this brewery and restaurant are located with in an old historic church – with all of the ostentatiousness that comes with that is absolutely amazing. The décor and the setting is a great place to enjoy a meal. We ordered several different items off the menu – and each meal is delightful. Pierogies are a dish that Pittsburgh is known for, so of course we ordered them here and they were amazing. The Shrimp & Grits were delicious. The Meat loaf was full of flavour. The beer is something that is to each his own – I am not a beer connoisseur so it is not fair for me to critique. It was good – but nothing I got excited for. The service was good. Prices are a bit high, but the food execution is exceptional. Parking is a bit of a challenge – as there is only street parking – but both times we were there – we got parking right out front.

I recently visited The Church Brew Works and found the experience exceptional on multiple levels. Nestled in a historic church, the ambiance is awe-inspiring with its intricate stained glass windows and detailed brickwork, perfectly preserving the grandeur of the original architecture. I started my meal with the Traditional Pierogies appetizer. Being a dish deeply rooted in Eastern European culture, the pierogies are tasty and perfectly textured. I paired this delightful appetizer with their ThunderHop IPA, which complemented the dish beautifully. For my main course, I opted for the Jubilee Hilltop Ranch Meatloaf accompanied by a glass of Cabernet. The meatloaf was exactly as comfort food should be—warm, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. I sat at the bar during my visit and must commend the staff, particularly the bartender, who was attentive and amiable, enhancing my dining experience. From the food quality to the ambiance and the service, The Church Brew Works scores high on all counts. It's not just a place to dine; it's an experience not to be missed.

I've been here 4x now; three times for dinner and once just for drinks. I don't drink beer, so I can't judge their brews, but everything I've ordered here for food and cocktails has been very good. Everyone I've been with here has also liked their food and drinks a lot. Very cool vibe inside being in a historic Catholic church. The chicken and dumplings on the menu here in the winter are my and my husband's favorite! The meatloaf and fingerling potatoes were good too, and my dad really liked the Jumbalaya. My mother-in-law ordered the shrimp and grits and was a little disappointed that the "grits" were baked into little grit cakes and weren't in normal grit form like the authentic southern dish. We're very bummed they took that off the menu for summer. This is definitely a must visit spot in Pittsburgh.

I saw this place on haunted America and had to come and see it in person. The food was fantastic. Great selection for anyone who loves great fare and delicious brew. Beautiful atmosphere and a great haunted story to go along with it. Service was on point and there is plenty of parking on the street.

While in Pittsburgh to visit our son, we went to Church Brew Works. I ordered the Steak Rothschild special. It was delicious! After a bite or two, I quickly snapped this picture. I also tried the Strawberry Shrub cocktail. I don't order a drink very often, but had to try this one. It did not disappoint as it was delicious! Our server was wonderful, making sure we were taken care of. We will definitely make sure to stop back the next time we are in Pittsburgh!!

Dined here last night. The food was delicious. The atmosphere is unique and hasn’t changed since the last time I was here, about 20 years ago. Waitress was unfriendly and not very engaged for how empty the place was.

Great experience here. Really appreciated the aesthetics as well. I tried the buffalo chicken pierogis as it was recommended and they didn't disappoint! Our server, Dylan, did a fantastic job as he had to serve about 20 people. All I can say is by the time he was done with us we gave him a round of applause!

Awesome setting. I tried the ipa and pilsner, both were good, I also had the cheesesteak sandwich, it was good but the bread to meat ratio was skewed towards the bread. Fries were standard. The setting is cool. Recommend highly.

A church that was converted to a brewery restaurant. I would say the food is ok, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the drinks are great. I ate the ribs and my friends got buffalo chicken pierogis and the shrimp and grits. We also got Brussel sprouts and French fries as appetizers. I really liked the blood orange dressing on the brussel sprouts. The ribs were good and it came with corn bread and coleslaw. I thought the coleslaw had slightly too much mayo and the cornbread was more like a flavorless moist cake.

OMG! It was out of this world! I’ve had the best onion soup in my life there! Pierogies, steak and pear salad were delicious! Also we got the beer sample rack and it was cool. Our favourites are Ambrosia and German Pilsner. The interiors are amazing too. Don’t skip! This place is worth to visit!
