Upstairs with cozy ambience and street view. We had Milanese veal with lump crab and special seafood linguine. I’m a big fan of crab meat, so I really enjoyed them! Also everything came with large portion.

For context, over half of their patrons the night we were there were 70+ year old Italian guys wearing sports coats. Any place that has that clientele is certified excellence. Gotta get to this place if you haven’t been yet.. Amazing atmosphere, great food, great portions, and a great value. BYOB and cash only.

Cucina Vitale is a quaint restaurant that is not only cash only but also BYOB. The service was very good but needed additional help. The restaurant is 2 story and not easily disability accessible even on the street level. After seated the server brings a basket of bread with a tray containing olive oil with fresh basil and garlic, red pepper spread, and a selection of pitted olives. Entrées include a choice of soup or house salad. Overall, Cucina Vitale was a good experience and the food was good and tasty.

I was out celebrating an accomplishment by myself and man was this a treat! The beans 'n greens was just like my Great Grandma used to make, a farmer from the Puglia region. Caesar salad was fresh and delicious, and I loved actually tasting anchovy, although subtlety. Had a craving for chicken marsala, and I wasn't disappointed! The almond torte was light and airy, with just the right amount of butter cream to balance out. My better half will enjoy the tiramisu. My only complaint is that the tiramisu was a little on the small size for $12. Paris was warm and welcoming, taking great care of me! I'll be back ...

I don’t even want to leave a review, because I love it here so much and it seems to be more and more popular so that it’s hard to get in! Sooo be sure to make a reservation ahead of time! I don’t usually eat Italian out because it’s usually not as good as you make at home… but this is the place to eat Italian. I eat here almost every time I visit Pittsburgh.

I actually went here a few months ago and it wasn't that great, but I deleted that review because they killed it this time. The caesar salad was great, bread was fresh and crispy. The chicken parm sandwich was the best I've ever had. The lemon berry cheesecake was a star and the tiramisu was great as well. All of the complaints I had from last time were fixed. The service is also top knotch and the atmosphere is great. I highly recommend it.

One of my husband's work acquaintances told him about this restaurant back in 2016 and we celebrated my birthday dinner here. Everything was beautiful and delicious & we met chef Frank. We found out they serve brunch/lunch and we've gone numerous times. The pancakes are huge and tasty! We recently went back on our anniversary for dinner and everything was so good! It's all prepared to order, fresh from the pan to your plate. This little gem has good food and it's not expensive. It's also BYOB. We ALWAYS get the cheesecake with fresh berry sauce... Amazing! We wanted to try the chocolate cake but they sold out so we'll get a slice next time. Definitely worth your visit and chef Frank is super cool!

I had the build your own fritada and it was excellent. My partner had the crab eggs Benedict and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection. The hollandaise was excellent and the crab was large chunks. This is on my list of favorite places as of today, and I will surely be back.

Absolutely a GEM!!!! Came to Pittsburgh from out-of-state to celebrate a special birthday weekend and Cucina Vitale exceeded our expectations! OMG, over the top fantastic from start to finish!!! This authentic, romantic hot spot fills up extremely quickly on the weekend so we made sure to have a reservation before heading to a concert at PPG arena. Although our arrival time into Pittsburgh was later than anticipated, resulting in the need to delay our reservation by an hour, the staff was beyond accommodating. We anticipated needing to cancel, but the girls were so sweet to save our time slot. Lucky us because absolutely everything was DELICIOUS!!! Kudos to the chef and fabulous recipes! THANK YOU OWNERS. I couldn’t imagine celebrating this special night anywhere else. Lynn and Amanda were incredibly kind and attentive! Seriously, those girls rock! Enjoyed the banter as well as the history. Although we were in somewhat of a hurry because of needing to get to the concert, they still wrapped up an amazing birthday dessert to-go as a sweet surprise. Absolutely can’t wait to come back and experience Cucina Vitale again. I will definitely ask to be seated upstairs with Lynn and Amanda! Tips: BYOB, cash only, reservations suggested (after 6:30 on the weekend this place is bustling).

This spot was so delicious. Ingredients were top quality and cooked to perfection. Often the veggies at restaurants are such an afterthought but everything I tried was thoughtfully prepared and really fresh. Staff was also so welcoming and service was great. I tried the lump crab cakes entree, the beans and greens, Caesar salad, and a special with ravioli and filet in white sauce. Will def return!

First I like BYOBs. And I love Italian. There were 4 of us. We started with sharing the fried zucchini with marinara and the bean and greens. I enjoyed them both, especially the zucchini which was very light and tender. The beans and greens were good but not as good as mine. I felt a little more cooking to soften the greens would have helped. The bolognese was fabulous. We all got some combination of this sauce. I had excellent ravioli. My husband had pappardelle. The topper was the cake. So white and delicious. Almost like wedding cake. Apparently made by the owners’ mother. I can’t stop thinking about it!! So all in all one of the better restaurants with a casual atmosphere that I have been to in a while. The cost was reasonable for this time in our lives.

We were pleasantly surprised. The food was very delicious. A little more than what we eat, which left us some to take home and enjoy the next day.

That was easily the best meal I've had in years. I just left the restaurant after a lovely evening with my coworkers. We had meatballs and fried zucchini for the table. I had wedding soup and the ravioli special topped off with the tiramisu. Every single part of the meal was exceptional. From the bread... God was that good bread to the tiramisu. I mean come on, look at that thing! (A little secret: it tastes better than it looks.) Thank you Frank for the amazing meal. The food was the reason we came there and while our conversation took a number of hilarious and wacky turns, we always circled back to how each course was better than the last. I'm not quite sure how that's possible but alas, thank you. Thank you to Paris as well for being the perfect hostess. You had great intuition when we needed water or a dish taken away.

Family owned home-style Italian food. The owner is the chef, he makes many of the items including the desert. The food is delicious and the server, Chris, is super friendly. Highly recommended. Don't miss out on this establishment.
