My husband and I loved this place & we are so grateful to see another awesome dinner option pop up on Penn Ave! Most of their plates are "small eats" but their burger is big, yummy, delicious, and satisfying! They make it sous-vide, so it's nice and tender inside, and that massive beef patty is heaped on a hearty bun with thick cut bacon, tomato, and pickles (and pickled onions if you like that kind of thing, but we asked that they not be included). We also had the Tagliatelle with veal ragout & it was delicious and big enough to share! The Ravioli with butternut & pancetta dish had only three wee raviolis which made sharing difficult, but they were tasty. Would order again if the portion was more generous, because it was yummy! Cocktails are amazing, thanks to a very talented bartender who makes his own bitters and tinctures! Like gin? Get the Fizz or the Muddle! They were both fresh and fantastic!
Everything always tastes better when served in crystal! Great atmosphere, great menu, great service, great location!
You're sure to run into us at Spork!
Spork is my new favorite restaurant! The food is delicious. We had the bread and spreads -- we had to stop ourselves from eating it all in 5 minutes. The eggplant croquettes were perfectly fried, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The show stopper was the casarecce with smoked salmon and ramp pistachio pesto cream. The sauce was phenomenal! They smoke the salmon in house. The service was awesome, too. Our waitress was genuinely friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. What 20-something can accurately describe the differences between two medeiras? The ambience is trendy and comfortable.
The food is amazing, thank you Rocco for one of the best dinners I’ve ever eaten. The service is equally exceptional, thanks Richard for taking such good care of us! Cheers!
A truly scrumptious dining experience, as first timers to Spork and Pittsburgh! At the end of a very long day of vintage car racing @ Schenely, we retired to our Air Bn'B in search of food. To our delight and surprise we discovered Spork, a stone's throw away and in the same building as our accommodations. The staff welcomed us with very short notice, no reservation and on a very busy night. What we liked. The kitchen is open to the dining area so it was quite the experience to see the chefs and sous chefs in action. The place was electric yet surprisingly intimate. The amuse-bouche were an added bonus and kept arriving between courses. The starters were beautifully plated and the size of mains, in other establishments. The entrees were perfectly prepared. I loved the fact that it was a truly garden to chef to table experience as we witnessed the staff prep fresh produce from the adjacent garden. We were not rushed out the door instead given the time, between courses, to savour and cleanse the palette. Despite being too full for dessert, the staff gifted us two exquisite hand made chocolates. All staff were highly trained in the art of food and service and the entire dining experience was exceptional and rare. I recommend Spork wholeheartedly.
Great place for dinner that has a variety of unique things to choose from in the menu. The service was great and they gave us little samples of things to try (maybe because I went on a slower day). I also appreciate how they offer a decent mocktail menu.
Had dinner here recently and it was truly a treat. From the appetizer to dessert, each course was like opening a delightful new present for the palate.
Ever tried their Orange Orchard drink? It's quite the charm, enough that I happily asked for a second round!
The staff here are as pleasant as a spring breeze, really making the experience even better. Paired with some seriously good food, it made for quite the memorable evening.
Do I recommend it? Certainly! But don't take my word for it. Give it a whirl yourself. After all, the proof is in the pudding... or, in this case, every delightful course they serve!
One of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh! We had Vick and he seriously deserves a bonus or something cause his service was definitely above and beyond!
All the food tastes farm-to-table and had amazing execution. The complementary amuse-bouches were also additions to the experience that I could rave about for a while x
I came in the day before Thanksgiving last year. They had a little complimentary tasting menu with delicious bites. The quail was very plump and flavorful. Most Pittsburgh restaurants I’ve been to are fairly good but this one really stands out! Cocktails were delicious and the staff was friendly. They even wrote a cute message on my to go box.
My husband and I's absolute favorite place to have dinner. We have been to Spork many times but, by far, my favorite time was recently for my birthday. Vick was our awesome server and in addition to offering us complimentary champagne, he gave a birthday card that was hand-signed by the rest of the staff. It was such a lovely gesture and one that made my birthday dinner truly memorable. This is such a special place and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a unique, delicious and personal dining experience.
Every dish and drink was amazing. Full of layers of flavor. The complimentary “muse” tastings were creative and delicious. The Port Melon and masque of Death cocktails were spot on. Pork was perfection and the mushroom ravioli was melt in your mouth. We split one order of THE DESSERT among three people and it was the perfect end. Definite recommend.
The quality of food is really good. We ordered bison and duck. The bison was cooked really well, not raw, not overcooked, and tasted amazing.
They offer free small cute samples of other dishes before your meal if you are interested, and the samples tasted amazing.
The atmosphere and service are excellent, too.
We had an amazing experience at Spork. The inventive cocktails and innovative food was the best meal I had hands down for fine dinning in Pittsburgh. We will be back. John was an amazing server. Great sense of humor.
Had a really nice dinner here! Excellent staff. A little pricey. $25 for a non-dinner salad seems a little steep, but they served several nice inter-mezzo small bites and palette cleansers that have to be factored in to the cost. Cocktails were creative on paper, but were just average on my palette. Overall, recommended!
The food and service was excellent and this may be my new favorite restaurant. The vibe is good with low lighting, which makes an open restaurant feel intimate, however gave atmosphere 4 stars instead if 5 because it was really loud. Definitely a wonderful restaurant and will definitely go again. It’s also nice that they have a parking lot across from the restaurant because it’s difficult to find street parking.
After getting past the snippy and unfriendly hostess we had a five star meal. Attentive service, creative cocktails/mocktails, and amazing food. Highlights included the Linquinie, creative chef plates, and the Spinalis.
Stopped in for a wine and food pairing event.
Excellent food and extremely friendly/accommodating staff! Love the atmosphere of this low key gem!
Accommodating, kind, and helpful staff. Astonishing food and cocktail flavor profiles.
Excellent way to spend a long evening enjoying superb creative food & cocktails. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff too! Appears pricey until you know the meal comes with a couple small appetizers of the chefs creations. Very relaxing.
Spork is an experience. Tasteful and thoughtful decor. Cool open kitchen concept. And expansive liquor offerings. The coursing is slower paced so that you can enjoy each dish and small plate they offer you between courses. Our server Sara was extremely knowledgeable and attentive.
Visited Spork for an anniversary recently and it was a great experience. Lovely atmosphere and great service. The amuse-bouches were fun surprises and we were even given a glass of champagne to celebrate our occasion. Unfortunately, the So Long Frankie Louise cocktail tasted like liquid fire - and we are no strangers to spicy food! It was painful to get down - we figured it must have been made incorrectly. The bolognese and mushroom ravioli were pretty tasty, but maybe too complicated. The deep fried mushrooms on the ravioli tasted like crispy oil and made the dish feel heavy; the bolognese could have done without the crunchy prosciutto bits. Overall, we had a nice time and were glad to check it out!
Three Words: Lobster Corn dog.
That combined with Wagyu Beef made for a special meal.
Service was impeccable.
During the meal they bring 2 one bite dishes that were delicious.
I highly recommend.
