Spectacular!!!
Our favorite breakfast spot in the ‘Burgh. Great food, better people.
Once you try it, you’ll be hooked!

Cafe on Main is our weekend breakfast spot! We love coming here on Saturday or Sunday mornings! Their food is superb and the staff is very friendly! A hidden gem!!
Sunday was our first experience and it was yummy! Malibu omelet; redskin new potatoes n onions; a side of 2 pancakes (very large); super coffee; and free mimosa on Sundays! How can you beat that? Can’t wait to go back!
Wonderful staff and atmosphere. Breakfast menu is creative and consistent. I highly recommend giving this cozy cafe a try.
I had an unusually bad experience after many many good visits to cafe on main, and wrote a review talking about it. The ownership was very responsive and willing to talk to me about it, so I'm updating my review to suit.
This place has great food, 95% of the time excellent service, and obviously cares about what the customer thinks. So will be returning for sure many more times!
Had great experience here. I love the food and waiting staff is nice here. We be coming back again.
Hidden treasure...Great service and the best breakfast around. Not to be missed!!
Good, delicious food and super friendly staff. Nothing fancy, but I'll take that any day over fancy and pretentious! Can't wait to go back!
By far the best breakfast in the Burgh!!! This little gem on Main in Sharpesburg is not to be missed.
We have been going here for years as our family grows. We just love it!
First time here for lunch and it was delicious. Will definitely be back.

Love the food. Great staff. Love Gina
Pittsburgh's best kept culinary paradise, Cafe on Main is everything you want in a top flight restaurant experience, without the expense. I've been friends with Laura forever, and am a firm fan of her business and its message of excellence, even in small things. Just look at the menu board for a hint of how absolutely cool the place is, and I am a fond witness to the quality of service, and of the food. My name is Wild Bill Cox, and I stand on my reviews, because written words are often a new fan's first contact with my work. I better get the reputation for honesty and veracity as soon as possible and here is a way you can check it! Come to Cafe on Main and see for yourself!
Second visit today- even better than last time! Omelettes are enormous and packed with goodies! Can't wait to visit again!!
Breakfast at its best!. We found this place using Urbanspoon! We are always liking for options other than your typical chain restaurants around. Sometimes they are hard to find even In Your own backyard.
Look no further than on Main Street in Sharpsburg! Located right off the bridge headed to route 28. We were looking for a place on our way to Pittsburgh Mills shopping center. Also it's an Easy entry back on to 28 after your done.
Charming old building on Main Street provides for a comfortable setting inside. Specials listed on blackboard as you enter. They have some amazing offerings for breakfast. (See photos)
With so many different options, you are certain to find one for everyone in your party. we choose the pancakes with bacon, dippy eggs with yummy spicy, but not too spicy sausage, and the amazing omelette filled with roasted red peppers, provolone cheese, asparagus and ham. everything was delicious! The omelette was amazing! The potatoes were seasoned perfectly! We now can't wait to now try lunch if we are nearby.
Service was fast and efficient. They were not warm and fuzzy, but food was properly prepared and we never waited for refills. The only recommendation I could make would be to tell the servers to smile more! :) hence, the 4 instead of 5 rating.
Summary: Do yourself a favor and break away from the chains and go here! Who wants to really wait for 1/2 hour or more to eat at Eat-n-park anyway???? We didn't even wait here, just sayin.
Crazy little place with great breakfast!. Have only been here for breakfast and it is very good.
Just moved here, its the best!. Just moved into the area, decided to do some walking around. Found this place, got Steak N Eggs with Potatoes and Chibatta toast, food was good! Wait staff was awesome! Highly recommend!
Awesome Spanish omelet and the bacon is unbelievable! Chef greeted us at the door when they opened and the wait staff is really friendly and efficient.
Nothing but praise for this place. Great food. Great service. Just has the best Hot Brown sandwich I've had. The Reuben is also fantastic.
An unexpected surprise!. This place is just what you want to see in a small community like Sharpsburg. It's really cozy inside, and the food is amazing. I was happy to see that I could get lunch for 8.00, but when the food came I was really blown away by how far the quality of the food surpasses the price. It's such a good deal and it's nice to have a local restaurant that has great food without costing an arm and a leg. Best reuben in Pittsburgh! This place gives me hope that more small business and other restaurants will find their way to Main Street and really take advantage of what SHarpsburg has to offer. Loved it!
This place is a must visit.... This place is great for brunch/breakfast. Definitely try one of the special omellets on the board outside of the dining room - they're all amazing. It's a shame there are only four reviews on here because everyone should know about this place!
Delicious breakfast. My Mom, sister and I had a wonderful breakfast at Cafe on Main. It's a quaint little restaurant in the heart of Sharpsburg. Great atmosphere, clean, nice menu with plenty of choices and a lot of specials. The pancakes and omeletes are the best I've had anywhere. The people there are very nice and friendly. All of our food was delicious. We are going back next week to try lunch!!
Family atmosphere, excellent food, friendly staff... What's not to like?
Always something to look forward to.... The Cafe has their standard menu consisting of salads and wraps but what makes going there a surprise is the list of daily specials. There's always something interesting or common but satisfying to expect. One can expect a fresh club with real chicken breast and avocado or a giant sloppy joe. One of the best soups I've ever eaten was a special here - Mushroom Provence. I really look forward to trying their breakfast.
Greek Omelet. Love this!!Fresh spinach leaves, mushrooms, feta cheese.Served w/the best chiabatta toast and I have fresh fruit with it!!
Great breakfast or brunch.
After a bit of a rough week we really needed the food comfort that only a proper local diner can provide. We were immediately met with the smells of butter, maple, and sweet baked goods. Portions were good without being huge and the quality of food was excellent. The toasted ciabatta with butter was crispy and reminded me of an excellent English muffin. My "wild about mushrooms" omelette was also delicious and fluffy. The home fries were a touch odd, and would be better described as "quartered seasoned potatoes" but their flavor didn't disappoint. This is a rock solid diner.
Food is outstanding every single time...this is the only place my entire family and I go for Sunday breakfast now...we are making this place our Sunday tradition. Service is top-notch and friendly. Atmosphere is cozy and warm! Prices are incredible for the quality of food you receive. You have to check out the Sunday Special Board in the entrance—you won’t believe it! Mouth watering amazing choices. After experiencing the food and everything else I mentioned you won’t want to go anywhere else. Be ready to wait for a table though because the secret is out. Ha. Ha.—it’s worth the wait. Listen to music with your earphones, or catch up on some conversation before you are seated. Oh, lastly... go hungry...you will leave satisfied!:-)
We've been seated right away when we arrived on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Special breakfast menu is showed on the board in the waited area. Lovely and cozy restaurant. Friendly staff. We feel very welcome and the food are excellent. Their homemade cinnamon coffee is delicious!
This is the best breakfast spot in Pittsburgh, hands down. They always have a board of fresh and unique breakfast specials with an option for just about everybody. (I adored the lemon poppy seed Belgian waffles with blackberries.)
It gets crowded sometimes and there is a small seating area, however the service is fast and it is well worth the wait.
The experience was pleasant. The staff are gracious hosts who are exceptably attentive. My party of 3 all had pancakes which are light and delicious. As a nice touch they serve free mimosas on Sundays. I would eat here again.
A hidden gem! The food is amazing. The menu is expansive, with many options, its hard to make a choice. Ownership and staff are all in. I'm telling you, if you go here for breakfast or brunch, you'll be telling everyone about your experience. Enjoy!
Food is awesome and the service is great
The main waitress, Gina, remembers everyone's name. My wife and I have never had a bad meal. Cafe has the traditional breakfast foods, like sausage, bacon, eggs, as well as their own takes on dishes, like eggs Benedict. Their pancakes are fabulous and they offer several options of additives, chocolate chips, cinnamon, blueberries and others.
