Great selection of South Indian cuisine. Been there several times and this place never disappoints.
good flavors and nicely made dosa - garlic naan is up to par for all indians and chols bhatura are great
Fantastic dishes and appetizers. Simple interior but an extravaganza of spices and aromas. Lots of bread/sauce choices with lentils and potatoes my favorite.
Delicious food in a super cute old house! The decor is beautiful and the house is full of character. The wait staff were very attentive, friendly, and polite. And the spicy food is actually spicy!! I got mild lamb curry and the lamb was super tender and flavorful.
Had the chicken biryani which tasted great, and they have promotions on certain night which I happened to be there for. Service was a little lacking as it took a bit to get their attention whenever we needed something, and the tables feel a little dirty as others have said. The food I had was pretty good though with generous portions!
If you are looking for a good south Indian restaurant, you might want to try out this place. The food is authentic and delicious, with a variety of dishes to choose from. The service is fast and friendly, and the staff are always ready to help you with your order. The restaurant is located in an old building that has a lot of character and charm. However, it may also need some maintenance and cleaning, as some parts of the interior look worn out and dusty. But don't let that deter you from enjoying the food, which will make you feel like you are at home.
I recommend Lamb Korma if you like spicy food and looking for something truly spicy (you also can choose spicy levels).
Be prepared the rice pudding is hot if you want to try that.
Lamb curry is also tasty, but I hope they offer more rice with the plate instead of charging 4 dollars for an extra plate of rice.
Highly recommend their garlic naan! Very fresh, well made and delicious!
EXCELLENT AUTHENTIC INDIAN in a 2-storey house setting. Pleasant atmosphere. Amiable staff.
The menu is shortish and navigable, many of the listing are not common found in the very long menus of most Indian eateries in America.
My recommendations:
1. Any of Dosas—thin crepes served with chutneys, masalasand Sam bar
2. Special breads: the Poori or Baatura served with chickpeas curry, come hot off the griddle 👍👍👍
3. Pepper Fry with either lamb or goat: 🤩🤩🤩Sumptuous unique dry curry
4. Baingan Bharta: fantastic charred aroma, also a dry curry that one tastes the natural sweet-pungent (aubergine) taste of eggplant 👏👏👏
It’s worth a planned another visit
Great food
Edit: the service has gone downhill. Extremely poor treatment since two years. Food quality fallen as usual. Repeatedly delivers wrong order. Not worth it anymore. Disappointed
Edit: (2021) Tried this again after a long time. Service has improved a lot. There were three servers (all new). Extremely fast, attentive and also very polite. Totally opposite of my previous three experiences. Also, the food is now a lot better and tastes exactly as advertised. No more items drizzled in tomato ketchup.
This place was a pleasant surprise. We were welcomed in by very friendly hosts. It is relatively small but the array of foods were amazing. Very fresh and unique choice of dishes, different from the typical American-Eastern Indian restaurant buffet selections. Love the tastes of everything. Great mutton curry. Breads were fresh and soft. We could not stop eating. Prices were fair. I think Indians are tough customers to please because most of us are used to our mother's cooking. So restaurants have hard time competing with our high standards but I think this place really stood out in terms of freshness and flavors. And unforgettably friendly hosts made the visit memorable...
