What a lovely place to stay. Went to Pittsburgh for the first time in many years for a concert and to sample the city. Mansions on Fifth was a lovely place to stay - converted beautiful 100-year old mansions and well-located. Lovely people. The bar/restaurant was quiet, and the food and service was excellent. And when I pointed out an issue with the room, the staff was on-the-spot and handled it professionally.

This place is awesome and Bill who works there is the best ever! He goes far and beyond to make sure your stay is nice and pleasant; He’s fun to converse with and has excellent recommendations; Great location spacious rooms ; my only constructive criticism is the elevator only goes to 2 floors ; we stayed on the 3rd floor and had to carry our baggage up a flight of stairs; Other then that small caveat it’s a great mansion style hotel

My fiance and I stayed here on a trip for our anniversary and would definitely stay again if we're in the area. The staff was super kind and helpful (when we checked-in we were asked if we had eaten yet and when we mentioned going out to find a place to eat, we were provided with multiple recommendations within both walking distance and ones that were a short drive away). We had breakfast one morning and it was delicious, although we couldn't the second morning because we didn't make a reservation and they were so busy, so keep that in mind. The location was wonderful and we were able to walk to everything we wanted to do.

I just stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and I would definitely stay there again in the future! The building itself has a great history. It was built as a private home and was eventually turned into a luxury hotel. It was built in the early 1900’s by Willis F McCook, for himself, his wife, and 10 children. In 2004, the home sustained major damage to the upper floors from a fire. The home was purchased in 2005 and restoration began in 2010. It opened to the public in 2011. It was acquired by Priory Hospitality Group in late 2016. It is just gorgeous, outside and inside. The hotel staff are exceptional! ALL of them, right down to the housekeepers. They treat you like royalty. My favorite was Lisa who runs the hotel bar. She is a licensed mixologist and she knows her stuff. Even though I don’t consume alcohol, she made me the BEST virgin Bloody Mary I’ve ever had. Lisa is super intelligent and extremely friendly. You will not be disappointed when you leave that bar! Which, by the way, is open to the public. The rooms are beautiful. We stayed in one of the Deluxe King rooms in the Fifth Avenue house. It was very spacious and clean. The bed was super comfy. The bathroom was modern and also very spacious. We had 2 clothing closets, a large dresser, and 2 nightstands. In-room safe, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, mini fridge, light up mirror in the bathroom, and a small single serve coffer pot. I was not disappointed. They serve breakfast in the morning, but remember to make a reservation the day/night before. The building is 20,000 square feet with many nooks and crannies to explore, and a lot of art work on the walls. Book your reservations now!! You will not regret it.

Those is a lovely grand old house that had been converted to a boutique hotel and gathering venue. It is great to see how the rich once lived and visit one of the old "millionaires row" estates. They don't build them like they used to!

This historic luxury hotel is well located, a convenient walk from the Carnegie museums, CMU, Penn State U, and Phipps Conservatory garden. The room was quiet and clean. Only some rooms are accessible, so check if you can't do stairs. The bathroom was great. The room was spacious and had a fridge. The lobby was amazing, with the staircase and details such as the ceiling bring wonderfully restored. It is no wonder this place is a favorite for weddings or other occasions.

We did not stay in the main building but our room was still cozy and comfortable. Both buildings are beautiful and loved reading about the history of the site. Staff was friendly and quick to help with whatever we needed. The only negative was the amount of stairs we had to navigate to get to and from our room. Luckily my son and I are both able bodied so it wasn’t a huge inconvenience but anyone with disabilities would find it almost impossible to enjoy their stay. That being said we will definitely stay here again whenever we find ourselves in Pittsburgh in the future.
