I love this place! The food is fantastic! So many great flavors! Definitely give it a try!
Fantastic food. Loved everything
Had mono, chicken satay and chicken with vegetables. Delicious
This nepali restaurant is too good. The dishes are delicious in this restaurant.
so,the residence of pittsburgs have lots of enjoy in here. Evertime enjoy enjoy and enjoy….. and love it have fun.
When you enter a side door propped open with a stick, you know the place will be good! Good does not even come close. Our party of 11 had every appetizer and 10 meals for less than $150. Every thing was delicious! I look forward to introducing many of my friends to this wonderful spot!
Very friendly and great food. You get over the spice after a few bites.
Amazingly delicious food. If you haven’t stopped in here make an excuse to do so. The food is outstanding. The service was excellent and the atmosphere quaint and cozy. Our waiter was awesome. I can’t say enough about who exceptional the food was! Perfectly presented and prepared to order! Well worth the money. Many different types of specialty foods you probably haven’t tried before! Thank you!
Tried Subba for the first time last night, and never had Nepali food before. The momo were amazing and just the right amount of spicy! We also tried the Chicken Thali which was delicious and the Veggie Pakora. Aloo Paratha was just okay. They also offer Chinese, Indian, and Bhutanese options.
Just fantastic. Menu is expansive and very fairly priced for the portions size and quality. We left absolutely stuffed and enjoyed wonderful hospitality. Great neighborhood find!
Been a long-time patron of Subba. This is the best Asian restaurant on the Northside--one of the best in the city. I'm so happy about their new location. They finally have a space that lives up to their amazing food.
Everything we've had here is phenomenal, but the Momo and Lo mein are two of our favorites. The Nepali plates are also delicious with unique spices that are packed with flavor. You won't find anything like it elsewhere.
Food was ordered and picked up in store. I ordered the Chicken Thali dish. The food was tasty and spicy. The service was prompt, the restaurant clean, and conveniently located. The only complaint is the portion size which was pretty small.
So got lost from Strip District to here, went through a bridge to catch a bus back to downtown, and couldnt hold a pee and found this hidden gem in the North Side.
We want to order something quick and want to use the restroom real quick as well. So I read the review on gg real quick and got a Chicken Lo Mein & Chicken Momo (didnt know it was a momo, knew that fact after I brought it home for my roomate, I just called it dumpling)
Everything was very quick, another short-staffed place. I believe he is the owner/server/host/kitchen runner. He was very fast and I didnt have the time to ask about the recommendation and ask what kind of dumpling is that. What you want, I ask what is that he said dumpling, can i have that. He said yes sure, very swiftly and bring out the momo out for me like the next 5'.
Lo Mein was very salty for my friend's taste but other seasoning in that is good so I quite enjoy it. The momo I think the stuffing is Nepal style, so it was a new experience for me (but still salty) but if we dipped it into the sauce it quite balance the taste of the momo so a plus for that (new but not bad at all).
The atmosphere is very mordern. Perfect for a date night or group of friends want to experience new places and try new style of Asian food, they have different of Asian food actually (Chinese, Nepal, Indian, Mediterranean, etc...).
I don't know if we can travel to the northside after sunset but I felt it's quite unsafe (maybe just a feeling). Other than that, everything in the restaurant was very good (the price is very reasonable as well for good food and good atmosphere).
I had the Nepalese Thali with lamb, and it was absolutely wonderful. The food is great, the service is excellent, and I will be back soon.
Never tried Nepalese food before. Solid dishes, and easy access on the north shore. Seems more like a to-go type spot, but didn’t have an issue with a restaurant to ourselves.
Lovely little restaurant and delicious food. Would be willing to drive 1 hour to Pittsburgh just to go here again! I ordered the Nepali Goat Thali, Vegetable Momo, and Mango Lassi. One of my friends ordered the Bhutanese Chicken Datsi and I tasted it… it was delicious. If you like cheese you will like the Datsi dish!

We dropped in fifteen minutes before closing in order to get pickup. It was the only place open at 8:45pm on a Monday in the area.
We ordered the dumplings, two dishes with goat and shrimp lo-mein.
The gentleman who was at the desk also cooked and was very friendly.
We were in and out within ten minutes. None of us had high expectations of the food, we just wanted some sustenance. So imagine our shock when we started to sample everything (between three adults and one kid) and it was SOOOOO GOOD!!!! Seriously some of the best food we have ever eaten. The noodles and shrimp weren’t greasy and had lovely seasonings, the goat was so tender and in awesome sauces and lentils and a veggies on the sides that we fought over, the dumplings had a kick to them without being spicy. We devoured everything and wanted more. Definitely will be coming back. 1000% recommend.
