It's been about 25 years since I moved away from Pgh. I came to town this weekend for my birthday. I couldn't leave without having one of my favorite Friday night meals to go. And like 25 yrs ago, the flavor, portions, and friendliness remains the same. I'm pleased now as I was then.
This place is so good I will drive 30 minutes just to get the food! Everytime I go no matter what time of the day there are always people there because the food is that good! They cook everything fresh right when you order it so it is always delicious. I always order the catfish fillets and the last time I was there there they even through in some shrimp on the house just so I could try something new on the menu lol! Everyone who works there is very friendly and I'll keep coming back forever!
This is a tough place to review, because the food has been excellent every time I’ve had it. Unfortunately, that’s not where I run into issues here. Food pickups placed through apps are very inconsistent… sometimes it will be ready when you get there, sometimes they’ll just seemingly ignore the ticket until you show up, which is not ideal. It also seems expensive for what you get… I normally stick to the fish sandwich, which is reasonably priced for lunch. I recently updated my review to four stars, as the service has been much better lately, and the food has stayed consistently excellent.
Fantastic chicken and fries! Honestly some of the best chicken I've ever had. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge. A regular sized meal can easily feed two people. Cash only, though there is an ATM in the store. No seating, takeout only, which is fine since the place is in a pretty shady (they have robbery resistant glass between you and the cashier).
First time eating from here but will DEFINITELY be eating here again. We got a chicken tender and fried cod dinner with fries and slaw. Also got an order of hush puppies and OMG everything was amazing! They have a secret spice blend they sprinkle on everything and the only thing I would change is to not have it on the hush puppies. It was great on everything else. I will definitely be visiting again soon!
Literally the best fried chicken in Pittsburgh since Quik It went down hill. Sometimes you just want some good wings fried hard. Hook fish got it!
Great food amazing seasoning and best hot sauce hands down I will never stop ordering from here wings and fish are my favorite and the fries I recommend takeout so everything is fresh and won’t be soggy first time getting mozzarella sticks and they are amazing! Love the portions as well

I've lived next to here for a while and I don't know why it took this long to order from here. The food is amazing and the portions are huge! One 6 chicken tender dinner is enough for 2 in my house and the dessert portions are just as big. We definitely recommend Hook fish and Chicken. We'll be back 4 sure.
MSG & Lemon 🍋 Pepper Sprinkled on Your Fish, Fries and Chicken is the best tasting food I've ever tasted hands down, but don't eat it every day 😋.

This is the BEST Hook Fish & Chicken location! I ordered the jumbo shrimp & chicken wing combo 😋 My food was cooked and seasoned PERFECTLY! If you’re craving a tasty meal/great customer experience get in your car and head over there!
Great tasting fish and chicken. The seasoning the put on it is like no other I have ever tasted. And the servings are so large the Styrofoam tray is always held shut with a rubber band. The place is take out only with no seating available, but if you are looking for a good meal and you are on the go, this is a place you gotta try. Just like everywhere else, their prices are rapidly rising. $19 for a to go of fish and fries is getting a little hard.to accept.
