Food and service very good. Atmosphere rough, needs TLC
Great Service!. My husband and I went out for a night on the town last week, and decided to grab some drinks and dinner before our show. It wasnt very busy, which isnt always a great sign. Fortunately, the waitstaff was very friendly so we decided to sit at the bar for a few drinks before having dinner. The bartender was very knowledgable, and made up for the lack of a drink menu. After sitting at the bar awhile, we decided to move to a booth in the back for dinner. Our server, Julie, was also very accomodating and knowledgable. She informed us that they were out of a few items off the menu and apologized in advance to us ordering. Fortunately, they did have what we wanted to order and our food came out in a timely manner. The food was decent, so we decided to get a peice of pineapple cake for dessert. It didn't look great, but i strongly urge anyone to try it--excellent! Altogether we were happy with our experience at the Grille on Seventh and will be back!
Awesome Service Awesome Food. I have been to this Restaurant many times and not always been satisfied with the service. Food is good but service lacking. I went there with my husband last week after seeing the Nutcracker and just must say better waiters and staff. Our server Mike was wonderful and made us feel very welcome. He did a fantastic job and we will back and we will be requesting him. We couldnt have had a better dining experience if it was not for him.
Great atmosphere. Great food , excellent service, wonderful outdoor seating!!! i went there to get a cocktail before the show. at the last minute i decided to get something to eat. i ordered their chicken quesidia's , they were the best i ever had. not to mention what a great timely manner. i even made it to my show. what a remarkable experience. 5 thumbs up
I think the place is turning around I eat here often because its close to all the theaters, recently my food was good and the wait was about 15 min with new managment I guess I just had to give the place some time to adjust
Great service. We had a great time i think our waitress' name was caroline we had a party of eight and she was the only waitress downstairs and had other multiple tables. we were all a little bit rowdy but she had a lot of fun with us and all our food was perfect and on time. she kept our drinks filled and was very prompt when checking to see how she was. definately coming back and definately asking for her to be our waitress again.
The food was great, the service was fast and friendly! I don't know why anyone would say a bad word about the place. We made our reservations at 6 to make it to an 8pm show at the Benedum. The service was so efficient that we had extra time to enjoy the fountain in Katz Plaza before the show. I give the place 2 thumbs up!
The food was good. A little uppity.....a little overpriced....but the food was good. I wouldn't even mind over paying for ambiance or exceptional service but neither were present that afternoon. I doubt I'll be back for quite some time if at all.
I wanted to post a current and positive review here for Grille on Seventh. My son and I went there tonight for dinner before catching a show. It was a last minute decision so our first choice was already booked. I took a chance on Grille, even though the reviews here were so bad. I figured we had 2 1/2 hours so, if nothing else it would be nice "bonding" time. In short the dinner was WONDERFUL! We were cheerfully seated quickly, and politely reseated when I requested a different table because the size of the first table was a bit small even for just two of us. The service was very good. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the specials and the food. I had a pork special (Delicious!) and my son had a steak, both were very tasty and cooked well. The Chicken Nachos appetizer was flavorful and HUGE!
My reasons for the 4 stars instead of 5: The regular menu is short on choices. (Though the 4 or 5 specials they had did help in that area) It took a little longer than I'd prefer to get drink refills. Also seating can be tight. I'm not a small woman, so the first table DEFINITELY didn't work. The booth was more comfortable, but still on the smaller side. If you are like me, be warned. Also it's a bit on the pricy side. But given the area, that's really to be expected.
So I don't know if they are under new management since the last reviews, or have just taken reviews to heart and made changes. In any case, I would recommend it as a nice little place to eat.

Stumbled across this place today while visiting Pittsburgh with my girlfriend and it is fantastic! The food was great and the service was friendly and prompt. Apparently it is under new ownership and they deserve to be recognized for the great job they and their staff are doing!
One of the best Italian hoagies on the planet, wings are real good too. I believe other posts about this place prior 8/21/15, was for previous owners that let things slide on there way out. I'd give this place another chance.
I've never been so insulted and I loved it! Dinner and a show!
