Update: 20-Feb-17: On our latest visit I should add that the service was terrific. On a slow weekday night our waitress took very, very good care of us, chatted with us as we were waiting for food, and was overall excellent.
On this occasion we tried the Souvlaki/kebab and lamb shank. The kebabs (pork) very nicely charred and still juicy. I'll have to go back for more of these. My wife's lamb was excellent which made her very happy. Then we had dessert - some custard dish I had never heard of before. Again my wife loved the dessert.

This is another long-time Plano restaurant, one of the first non-chain restaurants. Its hidden on the North side of Russeau Village. It serves good, simple greek food and is maybe out second-favorite in Plano.
With the opening bread and salad they have a dish of olives, which my wife and I fight over. I mostly get either chicken or gyros, and always enjoy them.

Really good......I have had a lot of crappy Greek food, this was not one of those places! Besides the food, they have exceptional service. I'll be back.
Absolutely fantastic. Great.... Absolutely fantastic.
Great atmosphere and service.
The food was cooked and seasoned exquisitely, from appetizer to entree.
Best in Dallas. Greek Isles has the best food hands down with a type of service that will leave you feeling like you were part of the family. OPA!! You will understand if you go there.
Absolutely delightful!! This is a hidden jewel in the Dallas area. We walked in and were welcomed like family. The food is fresh, homemade, and authentic--you'll be in love at first bite! Great potions, I ordered the special and my husband who refuses to eat veggies cleared his chicken florentine plate! Enough said :) must try the baklava ice cream with fresh baklava!!
What a great place.... Good.... What a great place....
Good food
Good service

The food was excellent, and I'm fairly certain our server was a Greek God.
Food was great except the portions alowed me to leave hungry! service was poor considering there was at least 12-15 working and it took over an hour to have my water refilled twice. Its not like the place is big for crying out loud, but all in all id have to say that thier food is second in my book for great Greek food in Plano ;-)
Food was excellent. Server was very kind! We had never been before. We had the special. Lentil soup, stuffed grape leaves, veal and chicken florentine! The baklava ice cream was great too!
Horrible location, wonderful place!. This restaurant is on the back side of a run down strip mall, but don't let the location scare you away. The food is outstanding for the Dallas area, some of the best Greek I've had since leaving Chicago. The service is also very, very good. The staff are true professionals. We love this place!
This restaurant deserves 5 stars. Fabulous service, excellent food and very well priced. My husband has always raved how he doesn't like Greek food.... Guess who already wants to come back? Thanks Greek Isles!
Hidden Jewel. Dropped by on a business dinner not intending to stay, just show face, quick drink and small talk. I came in just as the party was enjoying some nice looking plump green and black olives with feta sprinkled tomatoes and the additional Greek fare - fresh looking but nothing to write home about...However, the food kept coming...calamary to die for, small crab claws all smothered in olive oil and garlic goodness. It was heaven, so I decided to stay and ordered a classic Moussakka. It was like eating a cloud. Very flavorful and the beshamel on top was soooo smoooth. Incredible! Thank you to my coworkers for introducing me to this hidden jewel - I had no idea what I had been missing.Oh and thank you to Gus, most gracious host - the surprise dessert just topped it all off!
Had dinner here last night. Food was outstanding. Service excellent. Best Greek food I have had ever!!
Just like ya ya's. Just had a Big Fat Greek meal and it did not disappoint. Started with the crab claws drenched in garlic butter. Next the extrely fresh house salad followed by the Shrimp Mykonos. Everything is so fresh and taste just like it came from ya ya's kitchen. I love this restaurant. Very home style and without a doubt a scratch kitchen. Feels like I just toched down in Athens. the best Greek restaurant in DFW.
Loved it! Fantastic service and excellent food. We are vegetarians and they made some great grilled veggie pitas for the kids and even substituted the soup which isn't veg for something that was. I would highly reccomend this place!
The food @ Greek Isles Taverna is great and the staff is wonderful! Their baklava ice cream is amazing!
Very good food! Weird location and was kind of hard to find but now that we know it's there..we'll be back. Flaming cheese was great!
A local favorite for a long time. I've been eating lunch with co-workers and dinner with friends and family at the Greek Isles for many years. During that time I can honestly say that I've never had a dissatisfying meal, the food has always been of a high quality.
Having tried all of the Greek food choices in Plano many times, I know I can count on this place for consistently good food that leaves me happy with what I ate and what I paid for it. If you have room for desert, try the baklava ice cream.
Nice suprise. Been living within a few miles of this place for 25 years, and never been here before. Wanted Greek for a change of pace, and found the reviews here, decided to give it a try. So glad we did!
My dining companions went with a safe bet- Moussaka- and both declared it the best hey had ever had! I went with chicken and shrimp Souvlaki- quite good, healthy, tasty, even if it is a simple dish. My dish was a special, and included stuffed grape leaves, green beans, and desert, however, the kind waitress threw this in for all diners present.
We tried three different deserts, baklava, baklava ice creme, and lemon custard. We decided the baklava ice creme was the standout.
The best surprise was the bill- far lower than we expected! A super value.
In summary, I highly recommend this place.
Amazing!. The best greek food I've had in Dallas so far. You have to get the Chef's Special Chicken Florentine. (even if its not on the menu that day)..if you like spinach stuffed chicken that is.
What's amazing is that you get several courses included in the price of the meal. The pita bread with the hummus is amazing as well as the baclawa ice cream afterwards. Go there, you won't be sorry.
If this were on Holstead ave. In Chicago you would not find better food or a family owned and operated Taverna. The rack of lamb and calemari is awesome! Gus and his sons do a great job with parties. We had our reherasal dinner here with 60 people. Benny is the best waiter. My wife loves the fish. I am Greek and this is the only Greek resteraunt we eat at in Dallas. OPS, everybody dance.
Julia. My family and I have been eating here for years. We Love the fish, soup, salads ,gyros, saganaki, and steak. The best Greek food around!
My favorite restaurant! Incredibly delicious food.
Greek Isles is a wonderful restaurant. The food is outstanding.
