The place was recommended by a friend of mine. Menu is simple and easy to decide what you want. There are a good variety of items to choose from. I chose the rib combo. This included St. Louis ribs (4) and the smoked fried chicken. I added sausage for $3 more. The ribs were tender and could be eaten with out any sauce. The chicken was a little dry, but I could taste the smoked flavor. Sausage was also tasteful. Only wish I had more of it on plate. Service was good. I will definitely give this place more of my business next time we are in mood for BBQ, or in plant city

would have given them 5 stars but the sides are just okay. However, the rolls are also yummy!
Great BBQ. I live in another city but have stopped here for BBQ multiple times when riding thru the area. Everything I have had here is very well done . The combo meat sandwich (forget name, it's pork and turkey) is delicious.
Great chicken BBQ!. This place is beyond awesome! Best BBQ in central Fla. The young Waitress who served us kind of seemed unsure of herself and this was the only negative!

Best brisket in Florida!. I lived in Texas for a few years before coming to Florida. When I first got here, I was having severe withdrawals for good barbecue. One day, we were driving through Plant City and noticed this place. I was kind of afraid to try it after the bad experiences I'd had with other barbecue places in Florida, but I sure was glad I decided to give it a shot! The brisket is as close to Texas brisket as you could possibly find in this state. When I inquired about how they got it so close to the real thing, I found out that the owner spent months in Texas studying how to do brisket correctly. The barbecue sauce isn't nearly as good as Texas, but we were tipped off to the fact that you can have them bring out the sauce they usually only use on their ribs and use it as a substitute barbecue sauce, and it really fit the bill. They have a huge variety of sides to choose from as well. Their baked potatoes are huge, and the apple coleslaw is a tasty alternative to your normal everyday coleslaw. The wait staff is also mostly friendly and attentive. Prices are great-$7.99 for a brisket plate with a full half-pound of meat. You will not leave this place hungry on your hungriest day!

Probably the best barbecue I've ever had!!! Food quality is superb, you can taste the smokiness of the barbecue. Service was fast and very friendly, the atmosphere was great, and the prices were amazing for the amount of food they give you! This restaurant excelled in every fashion!
Maybe i'm a chauvinistic pig. But has anyone noticed it's all women crew running the place? Just odd...not complaining because it's not like they're sea hags. Friendly, good ol' country girls servin the BBQ. So i'm not complaining, I just notice these things.
On to the food and the restaurant: much better since they've expanded, some of my BBQ haunts can be holes-in-the-walls that are counter-productive to sitting down and taking it easy. The prices are good, the food is good, the brisket is good enough to make one pass on the sauce. Which brings me to my complaint: the sauce, which is the same downfall as First Choice. I dunno, I just don't like it. I like how its served warm in glassware, it just isn't for me. Fortunately, the BBQ is good enough to go without it.

Love this BBQ!. All I can say is yummy! One of my favorite places to go for lunch. Their BBQ chicken and pulled prok is out of this world. Great slaw and those yeast rolls just melt in your mouth. 2 different choices of BBQ sauces and they are served warm. Banana pudding and peach cobbler with home made ice cream is to die for! Great food, reasonable prices and nice, clean atmosphere. Awesome all the way around!
OMG. My mouth waters just thinking of this place. Great friendly staff, amazing southern BBQ, and homey atmosphere. I only live five minutes away. If it were up to me and not my husband if be here everyday! Everything was so fresh, the waitress was among about keeping our sweet tea filled. If you love bubba qs, THIS PLACE IS 10X BETTER! Not one complaint from me. Couldn't talk because I kept stuffing my face lol. Highly recommend eating here!
I order food for my staff every Saturday from Johnson's BBQ, I've tried everything they have. Their ribs are always meaty and tender and they give good portions. Lot's of great family recipes passed down from their grandparents that owned Johnson's restaurant many years ago in Plant City. When we get tired of BBQ we go to Fred's restaurant next door and eat other family recipes from the Johnson's. Amazing food from both places.
I've had a lot of BBQ in places all over the country, but I'm telling you the truth that this is probably one of the best. We had a party of 10 adults and teenagers and all were happy and very-well taken care of. I didn't ask (should have) so it's pure speculation, but they are literally next door to the Plant City State Farmers Market, so I wouldn't be surprised if they sourced most of their foods from there. Everything from the fried pickles, to the meats, to the sweet potato souffle were fresh and absolutely delicious. I was so hungry that I ate everything before I could take photos...sorry (not sorry). The parking lot was a little small but the restaurant was very clean and welcoming. I will definitely go back again.
Best bbq in plant city hands down! I make sure to stop by every time I’m in town. There may be a wait at times so be prepared for that but then again that’s a good thing! I recommend pretty much anything on the menu but my favorite it the smoked wings and Mac n cheese! Sweet tea is also to die for!

The food is delicious. I had them cater my daughter's wedding and the price was reasonable for the amount of people that we had. Everybody enjoyed the food. I thought we would have leftover, but all the guests took to-go containers with them and by the time I got to it there was nothing but sweet potatoes left! So I guess that means everybody enjoyed it.
Great food, great service. Everything was cooked perfectly and so delicious! The portions were generous. Clean and open atmosphere.
