Have visited this restaurant a couple of times and the experience has been good. The reason why I love this place is primarily because of the Sichuan style food that they serve. It's fiery hot and flavorful - just how I like my Chinese food. The place has been done up well with separate sections for groups which makes it the perfect spot for birthday dinners and similar occasions.
Here are a couple of dishes that are my favorites:
VEGETABLE SPRING ROLLS - A cleansing mouthful of fresh vegetables that makes a delectable appetizer. These spring rolls are crisp and the vegetable filling is delicious.
MAPO TOFU - Braised tofu cooked in a super hot and spicy sauce, this dish is only meant for people who can handle some really spicy food.
KUNG PAO CHICKEN - This stir-fried chicken is highly addictive with a delicious sauce, flavorful chicken and traditional nuts & vegetables.
DELUXE VEGETABLES - This is a surprisingly delicious one. The vegetables are cooked to perfection and the sauce is flavorful. I'm definitely going to be ordering this one again.
Just the right place to get my Chinese food cravings satiated.
The BEST Sichuan food in Pleasant Hill/Concord area. Have been there several time and never disappointed with quality of food. Dining room is comfortable and staff very pleasant. Absolutely love the fish filet and cabbage in spicy broth :: Fish is cooked to perfection and broth is complex, spicy (hot but not burning).
The ambiance here is very nice and the food is better. It's easily the best Chinese food I have ever had. Large portions, reasonable prices, and great food.
As soon as we sat down a small plate of sweet peanuts and spicy cabbage arrived! Delicious! We ordered sizzling rice and prawns, XO beef and pea sprouts. All were wonderful, but the rice/prawns were my fav. Service was friendly and not overly attentive... just right. A very good dining experience. We'll be back.... often!
Good, spicy sezchuan food! The Dry Cooked Green Bean is excellent, garlicy and so good. The flavors warrant another trip from San Francisco to explore the menu more.
Best Chinese food in the Walnut creek area. If you like spicy food, it's a great place to go. I drive up from San ramon just to eat there. Try the chefs specials.
Great food. Excellent General's chicken. It's our new Chinese food choice for the area. Hands down the best in Pleasant Hill
Happy to find a restaurant serving great Sichuan food outside a Chinatown. Service can be hit or miss for certain people, but it's online with every good Sichuan place I've been to. Very few exceptions in that space. Portions can be small, but the flavor isn't any different.
The food is outstanding. If you are looking for the typical Americanized, one note, boring food, this is not the place. The flavors are rich and complex, and the selection is surprisingly diverse. My wife had people visiting from their office in near Shanghai and were hoping for a taste of home after a week of American food, they were absolutely thrilled with Sichuan Fortune house. The orders are family style, and the courses will come out a bit at a time. I actually like this as I can try a little of each course when it is most fresh. It's slightly more expensive per dish than the typical strip mall generic Chinese restaurant, but the food is worth it, and I usually take home enough for a few meals, so the price per serving is actually low. Try the Tea Smoked Duck and the Spicy Crispy Beef.
Delicious sichuan food for a fair price. I especially like the spicy boiled fish filet and the wok tossed lotus root. Been getting take out from this place a couple times a month for a while and finally dined in into us week and it was even better. Looking forward to visiting many more times!
anyone who is disappointed is not interested in authentic chinese offerings. the flavors here are very close to what you would get in chongqing or chengdu, or elsewhere in sichuan province. don't listen to those people pooping on their dumplings or wonton soup.
for example, each region of china has different regional variations of wonton soup. southerners put it with seafood broth and egg noodles, northerners put it with dried shrimp cilantro and seaweed in a soy sauce broth, and sichuanese put it with chili oil. just because it's different from what you have had at other places doesn't mean anything. believe it or not there's also regional takes even on classics like zhajiang noodles, peking duck, or even food that originated in sichuan itself like dandan noodles. what's most important is the flavor, don't get all caught up on slight differences in preparation. all you need to know to check authenticity, is they have my beloved thinly sliced spicy pig ears, and the boiling fish is full of chilis. i have never been disappointed here.
THIS IS THE BEST CHINESE FOOD OUTSIDE OF OAKLAND CHINATOWN. The only authentic Chinese restaurant east of the caldecott tunnel! Seriously, this place is good. On point flavors, solid portion sizes, and quality of ingredients are great - they always use fresh fish and veggies - they don't skimp on quality! Garlic garnishes are plentiful - its these little added touches that let you know the owners care about the quality of the food theyre serving. Service is great, the owners are friendly, the staff is always attentive, and the establishment is always kept pristine and clean. This truly is a hidden gem! It's located off the main-thoroughfare and not noticable from the street. Parking is super easy as they have their own private lot. If you're looking for authentic and delicious - go here. The fish in broth is next level. Ive been here many times and can definitively say this place is consistently fantastic!!!
The food was excellent the service was excellent and felt a little bit overpriced but with the way things cost these days I haven't been to a decent Chinese food that wasn't
