We had the pleasure of eating breakfast at this farmers market restaurant. . They had two eggs, sausage burrito with perfectly cooked side potatoes! The service is excellent and the restaurant is kept nice and clean. Don't be deterred by the parking lot construction. The state is upgrading the entire area. I highly recommend this establishment!
Dimitri’s Farmers Market Restaurant is tucked away inside of the Pompano Farmers Market and yes, the restaurant is open to the public. It’s a rather old looking building which congers up images of dive diners of the past and we mean that in a good way. Dimitri’s Farmers Market Restaurant is in a stand-alone building in the middle of the Pompano Farmers Market . It looks like an old white house and the lighted ‘OPEN’ sign in the window lets you know that you’ve found it. We parked and ran into the owner Dimitri at the entrance while he was watering his garden. It looks like he’s got fresh herbs like basil growing in pots which is really cool. He welcomed us and opened the door and he seated us on the ‘cool side’ of the dining room. They had just opened for the day so he explained the A/C is cooler over on this side. Our server came right over and dropped off menus and showed us the specials on the swipe board. The restaurant looks clean and the décor is more country tha
Loved having breakfast here! Great home cooking for breakfast. Very casual atmosphere reminded me of the small kitchenettes I'd find in the corner greasy spoons in the country. Warm and friendly wait staff mad our morning cup of Joe a pleasure. Everything was cooked to order exactly how we requested. The grits were tasty, and an excellent barometer of the quality of the breakfast. Ample parking was a welcome feature. We'll definitely be back to sample more of the menu.
During one on the rare weekday mornings I had off from school I decided to come here for breakfast. The Farmer's Market restaurant is in a building from the the 1930's in the Edward L. Myrick State Farmers Market. The market's 1.008 foot platforms were the the largest in the world when they were built in 1939. During the growing season local farmers brought their harvest here to sell to brokers who resold it to retail outlets in the eastern part of the U.S. Today the Farmers Market is one of the few remaining reminders of Pompano Beach's agricultural past. The market continues to be an important multi-million
dollar economic force in the community. The markets proximity to ports in Miami and Fort Lauderdale reduces transportation costs and carbon footprints, and increases shelf life of the produce.
The Farmer's Market Restaurant has been owned by Dimitris and his wife Popi since 2003. It is located in a charming white shingled building across from the platforms. The homestyle menu includes pancakes, French toast, and eggs for breakfast and sandwiches, soups, and salads for lunch. They also serve Greek dishes like Greek salad, pita platters, and sandwiches. I love the vintage look of the restaurant and the quaint farm signs hanging on the wall. Seats are at tables or in wooden booths. I started off with a cup of their delicious coffee. For my brunch I ordered the French toast with fresh berries with home fries and bacon. The food was fantastic and the service was friendly and attentive. Portions are large and prices were fair. I included a picture of the menu so you can check it out. I had enough food leftover to take home and they even sent me out the door with coffee to go. This restaurant is a true hidden gem in Pompano.
Open to the public country restaurant serving the classics. Really unique for the area, as there aren’t many places that have this kind of vibe left around anymore. Solid menu and good prices.
The best tzatziki sauce I’ve ever had. Sausage gravy superb. We will be back. Drive by all the time. Hubby works down the street.
This is an off the path little country hidden gem in South FL. Awesome breakfast with real home cooked style food. Can’t wait to go back and try some other dishes.
Came here when the Mrs looked for a good spot to have breakfast. I would recommend it, period. It's in a small industrial area but who cares when the food is perfect. I had the daily special that had sausage gravy & would recommend the sausage gravy to all. Mrs had the greek omelet & it was "outstanding", her words. Put this place on your list. Will be back for sure.
This is by far one of the best hidden gems the fort Lauderdale area has.
We came in for the 1st time and had a HEART ATTACK BREAKFAST (one of the specials). It was great from beginning to end the staff was super friendly honestly I couldn't say a single bad thing about the experience
We will be back
Best breakfast you will ever have!!!! If you are looking for a home cooked style meal, this is 100% the place to go.
