We visited the Secret Garden for my Birthday celebration and enjoyed the Full Afternoon Tea. The atmosphere was very charming, and the food, all cooked on site, was absolutely delicious! You eat with your eyes first, and each dish was not only beautiful to look at, but just as tasty. Will definitely return!

I went for the first time today and had a wonderful experience! The staff and owner were extremely friendly! They do not host children's parties so I am not sure to what another review was referring to. We did however, have children in our party of 10 and every person had a great experience! The food was delicious, the teas were wonderful and we all left talking about coming back again. As for prices, there were quite a few options to order from a menu or do as we did but choosing a level of Tea Service. I look forward to telling more friends about it and coming back again for a great experience!
Attention to detail is amazing. Menu and decor changes monthly so visit often!! You will not be disappointed. Call ahead for a reservation. Delicious tea, scones, desserts, sandwiches and soups.
Absolutely Amazing!!. I went here with my friend, her daughter, and her other friend and it was absolutely wonderful. The Cinnamon scones and peppermint tea were beyond delicious. It was like attending a real tea party. They even have hats!

Truly Victorian. After coming in off the ferry from Connecticut my wife and I were looking for a place to lunch. We have a favorite place to eat however when walking there we came across this new restaurant and decided to give it a whirl. Walking in we were greeted by softly playing music and the cutest little gift shop. The greeter was a kind girl who brought us to our seats where we were again greeted by our waiter who told us all the specials. My wife ordered the chilled strawberry soup while I order the chicken salad on what was a raisin and nut bread. Now I don't care much for strawberry soup, forgive me for being close minded, but my wife raved highly about it. I on the other hand enjoyed fully my sandwich. The bread was very tasty but didn't take away from the excellent chicken salad! The lettuce was fresh looking, as if I had went to the store and bought it myself, unlike anything I've ever seen in a restaurant. Along with our lunch my wife and I shared a dessert tea which was probably our best decision all day! The cafe has many teas to choose from (easily 25 or 30 tea flavors) so we asked the waiter which he recommended. He said the cinnamon spice tea was an excellent choice that many people enjoyed and so we followed his recommendation. The tea was delicious, and the desserts that came with it were equally as good. I look forward to visiting this restaurant again and highly recommend it to any one thinking about visiting!d
I am visiting from Texas and this was hands down the best experience I have at a tea room in a long time! Even after close you could hear the manager customer relating and calling clients to confirm appointments and taking new appointments! We called 15 mins before we got there and they got us in immediately and it was only 10 mins before close. We weren’t rushed and even the server was a great conversationalist and had amazing recommendations! My favorite food had to be the chai scone and chicken salad on cranberry bread.
While limited hours, this tea room is the best one in Suffolk County. Before you enjoy your tea, make sure to go back toward the bathroom and grab a hat - I didn’t see them until after my meal. The scones are soft and buttery and dare I say it, don’t necessarily need clotted cream and jam. Huge tea selection in smaller but curated floral space. For the kid’s menu, I’d ask them to swap out the kid’s scone for the adult ones - the sprinkles and icing while pretty honestly doesn’t add to it and we found the ones the adults in the party had, just tasted better! I brought home a few coconut scones I liked them that much. Service was slow, but staff was very friendly and attentive - it might be that they were down someone that day or we went during a very busy time, I don’t know. I’d not recommend sharing a an afternoon tea tower only because we didn’t find it enough for two people but that was on us! Just get your own. They accommodate allergies without issue and also offer more substantial fare as well and although we did have a little trouble making a reservation, we eventually were able to. Great location as well, right on main.
Eating here was an amazing experience! Such a cozy, beautifully decorated tearoom with such a warm ambience. The waitress was super attentive and friendly. And of course the food was amazing! Our party was vegetarian and they were able to accommodate us. The vegetarian sandwiches were super tasty, the tea selection was fantastic, and the scones were delicious (super flaky)! The best part was the gentleman in the front who was super friendly and welcoming. He even pulled out our chairs for us! Would highly recommend a visit!
Such an amazing tea shop with an extraordinary and quaint tasting / sit down area. The tea options and flavors are exquisite. We go there every year to refill our tins and try out new teas to ring in the new year. It can get quite busy, so get there early and enjoy - don’t forget to try the scones!!!
Nestled on Maine St of Port Jefferson awaits an oasis of tranquility known as The Secret Garden Tearoom & Gift Shop. It's here that many women, and accompanying men, gather with their friends or loved ones for a refreshing change from an ordinary lunch and/or tea break. Out from its hidden kitchen, floating through the soothing music, to the lace covered glass topped tables come the makings of an English style Afternoon Tea consisting of savory and sweet delights that are lazing upon tiered servers. For those desiring a less elaborate meal, there are lighter English style choices, salads, sandwiches, quiche, and homemade soup. However, the showcase of this unusual experience is the tea. The assortment makes the choice difficult, but once you choose, the entrancing aroma emanating from the beautiful teapot used to serve captivates the patron to not only try her own, but return to try their friend's tea. If a playful mood strikes, choose a tea hat from the back to wear during this endearing meal and recall your own childhood days of playing 'Ladies at Tea,' pinky pointing and all. Also, be sure to browse the gift shop already holding something you'll want to take home or give. The Secret Garden Tearoom & Gift Shop creates a magical experience with sweet simplicity that will keep you coming back and each time you do, you will enjoy. Reservations necessary.
The atmosphere is so much fun! I've always wanted to have a tea service experience and this felt a bit like a dream come true 🫣
I've been here on a romantic date and a fun get together with friends and family. Both times were a blast.
The food is delicious and the presentation is beautiful! I would definitely recommend the light tea service; each of the foods featured on the platter and the tea options are really tasty.
I LOVE going to the Secret Garden Tearoom. Definitely the best on Long Island. They have an adorable atmosphere, delicious tea and delicious food. I love the little cards with quotes that they place at each teacup when you arrive. Lots of unique tea flavors to try and you can buy tins of loose tea to enjoy at home.
What a beautiful place. So aesthetically done ❤️ A tea cafe and gift shop. Just so lovely. What a variety of teas (and most of it is imported from India)
Had the chance to meet the owner Mr. Frank who was very friendly and also informed us that they serve only tea and no coffee at all 😀
Mind you, don’t forget to pre book, as they’re usually always full. So don’t be disappointed if you don’t get a table. You can always take great pictures. It’s so beautifully done up.
The Secret Garden Tearoom is a lovely place and I highly recommend it! Beautiful atmosphere and settings. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious and the tea service was fantastic!
We brought my Mom here today to celebrate her 100th birthday. the atmosphere was just lovely. The staff was very attentive to my Mom, they all came out and sang happy birthday to her. It just made her day. The food was delicious, we had the light tea which included a scone and 5 finger sandwiches.
