I love this place. My family eats here every time we go to Port Jeff. The fish and chips is amazing. Both the fish and the fries have perfect flavor and texture. Every time I get fish and chips somewhere else I end up comparing it to this, and most other places don't measure up to the Steam Room. It also has cool atmosphere, especially when they have the doors open in the nice weather.

I found this place on Google before I left the UK, and I made it one of my must stops. I could have been amazing, but no finger bowls, using your fingers to eat, a must with Crab! They didn't have a clue. The mussels tasted frozen, and the snow crab was overcooked. I'm sure it was very special once, but time & complacency have taken over. With a Ramsey visit, it could be very, very special again.

YUM! We always make sure to grab a lobster roll while waiting for our ferry. Check this spot out, get to the ferry early and grab a bight or reward yourself after arriving in Port Jefferson. This spot always has great, fresh, delicious seafood at fair market prices. You will not want to miss out. *Also, a cute ice cream and sweet shop directly next door. PRO TIP!!!: 11-3 Monday thru Friday - buy one get one half off lobster rolls!!

A casual dining experience with a mostly seafood menu. Lots of fried dishes but everything was good. You order at a window and they bring the food out. The patio area is nice with a pleasant view of the water.

The food is always delicious, I had the Lobster roll which was very small for $20. I think I'll go with the Fisherman's platter next time. There is a parking lot right in front, which is free parking. Update: I had the Fisherman's platter, which was very good. I would have it again.

$$$ but always yummy, time to start sitting outdoors to dine again, watch the ferry board and empty. Love it Another visit, this time I had the lobster roll...warm bread cold lobster..no butter or mayo. We also had clams on 1/2 shell The sauce was made with a hot sauce not horseradish, not good. A bit disappointing this time.

We are usually here for lunch, but surprised to find the Steam Room had breakfast. Not a lot of people in the morning for breakfast. Food was good.

Went for early dinner. We could do indoor dining with hardly any people which was nice. Loved the calamari but seafood paella was kinda disappointing. Too salty. Fishermen’s platter was okay too. The server was very nice & friendly

Seafood fast food style. Beautiful view of the bay and marina. Customer orders and pays at the cashier, reasonable waiting time for food. Friendly staff.

My first time at the steam room. I can’t believe I have not eaten here before! The food was really amazing and the service was polite and efficient. We ate at the outdoor seating on a beautiful day with the view of the ferry and bustle of the people shopping and looking at the ferry as it loads and offloads. Seagulls above and the sounds of a marina. Prices are very affordable and worth the option. Afterwards you can walk off your meal is a quaint harbor town.

Lots of good choices. Make sure you look at the specials. I had a seafood ramen that was great. Nice views of the ferry boat across the street. Very tasty lobster roll, great fish and chips.

Good seafood. I think this is the only spot near the ferry to get good seafood. I go especially for the Steamers. On this trip I ordered a large beer, a bucket of Steamers and the Fried Fisherman's Platter. You order at the window and they bring your meal to you. For some reason my meal was delayed and everyone else had their food. When I asked about it, they took my receipt, but I'm pretty sure my total was close to $50. I don't recall the cost of the beer, which by the way was nice and cold. The Steamers we're delicious. The platter was ok. I was disappointed with the fish. It was very small and thin. I would have wanted Sea Scallops as an appetizer, but they only have fried Bay Scallops. They have Sea Scallops as a broiled dinner platter, but don't understand why they wouldn't have fried Sea Scallops as an option. I would rather get several apps and can do without the platter and fries and stuff.

Beautiful outdoor seating , with some indoor. The Broil seafood platter is absolutely fabulous a perfect meal on a hot humid day with the beautiful breeze of Long Island Sound blowing in. The selections are many and at the time that I went in the middle of the week at 1p, a lot of locals eating there.

My family and I have been going here for years every summer and we love it. Such delicious seafood! They even have options like pizza, chicken fingers, burgers and fries for people who don’t like seafood. Even that’s good! You can’t go wrong with this place. The atmosphere is pretty as well, we like eating in the outdoor section.
