Always a wonderful meal from a big menu of choices including seafood, steak and prime rib. Also choice of lighter portion or senior menu. I love the full meal with relish tray, bread, salad or soup, entree with potato and ice cream for dessert. Popular restaurant and typically a lengthy wait to be seated. No reservations.
Best steak in town I love this place!! Our waitress was on point so nice and we didn’t have to wait for anything. My favorite place to go
My husband and I decided to go to Sayler’s for our Valentine’s Day dinner 2/14/18 and go early at 4:00ish. To my amazement the parking lot was nearly full. We only waited about 15 minutes before we were seated in the back room. I loved our table in the back away from the hubbub if the main dining room. We shared a most delicious 16 ounce prime rib. Now we know from eating there for the past 30 plus years we like the prime rib the best. There’s not much waiting for the kitchen to prepare our steak or chicken or whatever else there is. We had incredible service (I wish I could remember her name), checking back several times and providing endless glasses of soda to my thirsty husband. Our meal and service was as perfect as can be!! Thank you Sayler’s!
Sayler’s is the best steak in town, well worth the drive from Hillsboro! I love the veggies and dip, and when they have maple nut ice cream it’s the perfect end to a fabulous meal!
Saylers never disappoints. Took our son there for his 13th birthday, his choice. They took care of our 12 top at 5pm with no problem. Drinks were great, service was on point and steaks were perfect. A plus rating from our family. Keep up the good work.
Always the best meal and best service. Our favorite restaurant.
Awesome service. Was very busy, but didn't have to wait long. Our waitress was awesome. She always checked on us. The steaks were very good. Melts in your mouth. Lol. Love the bread and veggie tray. Food was cooked perfectly. Have always loved going for a great dinner. Great job Saylers employees.
This is one of the best steak houses in Portland. Plenty of food great steak and great service.
Great food and the service ROCKS. Things haven't changed in the 50 yrs we've enjoyed this place ... even the relish trays & peppermint ice cream. Best place in Portland after all is said and done.
It’s always a great meal. I walk out of this place feeling full and needing to walk off all those calories that I indulged in! Always good!
I haven’t had this great of a service… almost ever. Greatest and promptly seated, waitress came at offered drinks within moments, came back for my wine order. We split a large top sirloin and they have an option to pay to get the sides for a small fee, which we did. Good veggies and ranch sauce with seasoning. Fresh warm bread with melted butter and garlic on the side. Wife’s tea came in a smaller glass but a small refill tumbler came as well, when that got low another was brought with fresh ice. Red blend wine was good. Steak came at the proper temp (that we like), baked potato with the requested toppings. Didn’t feel hovered over but always felt she was near and answered our questions. We finished with a scoop of coffee ice cream that was so good. Have to say for just visiting Portland Oregon I’m sad that I won’t be back any time soon, almost worth come back just for dinner. For the parking I turned in one lane too early and then a left and had to go around the block. No way to get into the two lane (one way) parking. And I dropped off our senior 91 at the side door… it’s an exit only. Despite my attitude coming in… it all melted away with the great service (and wine)… a must try place for sure if you’re near Portland Oregon!
Great waitress who gave great suggestions. Drinks made sure the night was full of laughter. The cost and quality was superb. Every entree comes with plenty of courses to please any belly. Chef's 😘💋
We love dining out at Sayler's. The service is always excellent, the prime filets are some of the best around at a reasonable price. Lately I have been ordering the crab louis which is loaded with crab. They also have a great pork roast, a nice selection of steaks and fried chicken. Every meal starts with a relish tray, bread and garlic butter and ends with a scoop of ice cream.
Really enjoyed my meal here, especially the great service. Really cool old school joint. Food was pretty good but the steak needed more salt on it and wasn't cooked the best, not awful but just not the best - one side was more cooked than the other and you can tell they are trying to produce a lot of orders, it's a pretty big place with lots of tables. Mashed potatoes weren't very hot, next time I'll get the baked potato which my friend got and looked awesome with bacon and cheese. Relish tray, bread were great. Ice cream was great. Fun experience overall.
The food in this price is fantastic! Recommend rib eye. There's a lot of things that come with the steak. I like all the appetizers, sizes and even the ice cream.
The waitress named Diana provided the best service. She is professional, passionate and lovely. She really made our dinner a super pleasant experience.
Our kids treated us to a most excellent dinner here to celebrate our 40th anniversary. It had been a few years since I'd been back to Sayler's. It was better than I remembered. From the onion rings to the dipping sauce to the relish tray, bread with dinner, meal and choice of ice creams or sherbet, everything was awesome. The service was top-notch. The only drawback was that it felt very hot where we were. Indeed, the thermostat was behind us on the wall, and it read 77°. It was uncomfortable in that regard. Otherwise, all was great.
Ole School Steakhouse. Service and food was very good. Took me back a little to steakhouses I visited with my parents on the East Coast. Lol. Good value, worth the visit. Onion rings were fantastic. They do steaks right.
I really enjoyed this place the food drinks staff and atmosphere were all on point. I will definitely be back it was my birthday and they served me the free ice cream with a candle it was very thoughtful.
Wow! What a hidden gem! Stopped here on our way back from Bend not knowing what an amazing meal we were about to have. We were greeted by a friendly host and even though the restaurant was packed, we were sat within two minutes. Our server who was also friendly and personable, greeted us promptly after being seated and offered to start us out with drinks and an appetizer. We had a prawn cocktail which was amazing. Big, plump, juicy tender shrimp with a perfectly chilled cocktail sauce. A generous portion. For dinner we ordered the Filet Mignon and Prime Rib with sides. They served a basket of warm,
delicious French bread with butter and an appetizer plate with chilled veggies with ranch that was free of charge and part of the meal.
Everything was cooked to perfection, and the portion sizes were extremely generous. Our server checked back with us regularly and was extremely personable. Best service we’ve had in a very long time. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough, looking forward to the next time we pass through so we can return. This is a must stop- don’t even think of going anywhere else.
Don't be fooled by the name. Sayler's Old Country Kitchen is not trying to be a Cracker Barrel competitor. This is a bonafide STEAKHOUSE with all the trimmings. They even have the option of trying to eat a 72 oz Sirloin in one hour to get it free!
The pricing is very fair for what you're getting when you order one of the steak dinners. DO NOT order anything else, as your steak dinner already includes a tasty appetizer (a relish of assorted pickled veggies), a salad, bread, choice of sides, and desert (ice cream or sherbet)!
My steak was cooked exactly to my medium rare order, and was delicious - a very good New York cut. The service was friendly and paced just right. The bread was just ok, but everything else was really good. This was just the meal I needed after finishing a couple of hikes in the Columbia River Gorge earlier that day. You really can't go wrong here, except maybe if you're vegan. (Just a black bean burger on the menu for you.)
Try it!
The food was absolutely delicious! Our food came out pretty quickly and we were able to get a 3 course meal for a decent price. I personally love mint, so I highly recommend their peppermint ice cream. I would love to know if they sell their ice cream because I need a bucket of it in my freezer at home
Sayler's is an absolutely amazing experience. The sirloin was perfectly prepared. Everything was amazing. Really took me back to when my dad would take me to the local steak house. Will definitely go again!
Still, the way I remember it, you get way more th for your money than any restaurant I know of so if you want an awesome steak at any size you can think of you need to come here it's still the G.O.A.T of steakhouses

Superb steakhouse!!! Bring the family or enjoy a nice date night. This place is fantastic quality. We loved the midroom cozy fire, which added to the ambiance. Our 72oz was cooked perfectly. The sides and accoutrements were ample and delicious. Our server was charming, quick witted and intuitive. We loved this dining experience and will be back, family in tow. Definitely on the regular.
Delicious food!
Service was fast and friendly. Prices for what you get not bad at all!
Great old fashioned steakhouse. Best burger I’ve ever eaten. All the steak I’ve had has been great avoid the country fried steak and fried chicken here. Everything else is fair game! Staff is also wonderful.
After driving for 8 hours, we stopped here for dinner. Our server was great and so we’re the steaks. We ordered the filets and they were cooked perfectly.our dinner included salad, potato and ice cream to finish the meal. I recommend the espresso ice cream it was lovely.
Nothing fancy but a great place to dine in after a long drive!
Great food and stellar service! Chanel was our waitress and she made me and my son feel extremely welcome. She accomodated any requests we had with patience and kindness. She made solid recommendations from the menu and served the courses in proper sucession without rushing us or making us wait for an unreasonable amount of time for our food/drinks. It really couldn't have gone any better on a busy weekend night. It had been many years since I dined at Sayler's, but after the experience we had tonight....we will be back soon and often!
Went there with my girlfriend and her son for a celebration dinner as they had just moved into the area. I'd never been before but had read many good reviews. We all agreed that it was a great experience and we'll be back.
We split a half order of the onion rings for an appetizer. Wow, next time we'll do the quarter order! Tons of tasty rings, many went home with us.
I ordered the prime rib. It was ok, nothing much to comment on. They each ordered steaks. I can't recall which variety but each was fabulous.
Our sides, the relish plate, and salads were all fine but unremarkable. Service was great and we were seated right away at about 5:30 on a Sunday. We were a little worried about parking and a wait but had no issues.
We definitely enjoyed our meals and we will return next time we want to celebrate something.
