Gerard and his team only do their very best to give their patrons the best time possible. From the casual pint with live music to the Smoker you can count on the experience being authentic and professional. Remember to ask about the money on the cieling - it’s for a good cause!
This place is perfect for a casual, fun time with good food and a great wait staff. My favorite place in Portland.
It was awesome! My first time here. Loved the food, and the atmosphere. I ordered the Ruben sandwich with a Kells Irish Stout..yum,yum,yum! Will certainly go back.
Great food and drinks. Reserved seating online, it was so easy. Couldn't ask for a better waiter, amazing staff.
Their private meeting room upstairs is one of the best in the city and the service is great at a reasonable price. I’ve done a client appreciation party there each of the last three years and every time he gets a great response.
The drinks are well made and the staff very friendly. Our only regret was being too full to try the food. What a fun place to be with live music every night at 9pm
Excellent Corned Beef & Cabbage! The service was fantastic and to top it off the best bread pudding I’ve ever eaten (sorry mom)

Top notch service for our table of 10. Even though we moved around the waitress got our orders straight, glasses were always filled and we never had to hunt her down for a refill.
The food was amazingly good and reasonably priced. Not too much, not too little. No one at our table had a complaint about anything they ate.
Conversation was easy to hear and participate in despite the fact that the place was packed. The bar back was amazing and the hospitality was right on the money.
Had the corn beef dinner first week of March. Best I've had there. Corn beef so tender and excellent cabbage and carrots. Topped it off with a nice pint of Guinness.
Awesome place. The food was amazing. The service was incredible. Great place to be.
I met my best guy here 4 1/2 years ago- random story. Best decision I ever made. Ps- their staff is killer.. as well as the music/food/ cigars/everything. So dear to my heart. Don't ever, not come here. ☘️😌🍀😊🙏🏼
First time at Kells yesterday. Walked in and felt at home. Good atmosphere with pleasant service and decent food. The bread with the meal was excellent.
The large pastel race horse portrait blew me away. I would really like to know the name of the artist. Cannot figure out the signature. Is It a portrait of The Kentucky Derby winner Swales from 1984?
Great place to visit.
I own The Irish Corner Pub in St Louis and was really impressed with the staff and food. Conversation was great and filled with Irish Craic. Thank you for the hospitality
Kells is a great authentic, genuine Irish restaurant and pub, with amazing traditional Irish music , and fun atmosphere!!! I felt like I was in Ireland, and met so many nice people!! The owner is very engaging and friendly, and the whole establishment has awesome vibes and character!! Makes you feel good!!
Great service with very delicious food. Shepherds pie was great and our server Jenn gave us awesome service!
Family visiting from Michigan enjoyed the fish&chips, friendly service, great vibe. And, when I discovered my phone was missing, our waitress found it in the sest cushion and put it in safekeeping, Thank you So much!!
Yesterday we celebrated our sons 40th birthday at Kells Irish Restaurant and Pub in Portland. 15 family members attended our lunch celebration. The fish & chips, shepherds pie and lamb stew was outstanding. A piper was hired thru Kells Pipe and Drum Band. Our birthday event was perfect. Thank you Kells!
Great staff, yummy food and run very efficiently...we had a great time watching the boxing matches!
Super awesome wait staff and delicious food - definitely will be back!
Was my local for a summer, and I cannot wait until I return.
The non stop craic and laughs that Kells provided by means of great food, great drinks, and super staff, combined with good friends and friendly atmosphere amongst locals and non locals made it a summer I will never forget!

We were so pleased to visit after almost 12 years. We had attended 3 Irish Festivals in 2000, 2001 and 2002. My friends Mark Moebeck and Tom May performed there back in the day. We came for lunch in 2005. Returned again today. Lovely atmosphere, great food and excellent service. Our bartender was very warm and welcoming. Had a wonderful time. She was such a pleasure. Hope to visit again very soon and not wait so long. Jared still does it up right.
Saints be praised, we loved it. Food was great and the Jameson was plenty. Super friendly staff, I will definitely visit again!
I come for Paint Nite and I always enjoy the atmosphere! The waiter was helpful and friendly
Literally the best Reuben sandwich I have ever had in my life.
Wasn't the fastest service, but it was pretty busy and the food made up for it! Best burger and nachos!
We've made many great memories at Kells. Every time we come here it's an event. We're not going for the food particularly, but for the fun, upbeat ambiance. We love the live music! The service is what you should expect at a good quality bar, but they do much better than that! Wish they'd never left Corvallis...
Great food and a fabulous selection of scotch. Hard to go wrong here.
Good food, drinks, and vibe. It didn't hurt that our waitress was easy on the eyes... until I saw the ring on her finger. 🤪
Skip the Irish Nachos and def get the sausage rolls.
Hosted a birthday party and Tracey went above and beyond. The staff were so friendly, the food was yummy and the room was beautiful. I can’t express how appreciative I am and how well it all turned out!
My husband had the Reuben, and I had the Shepherd's Pie. But we started by sharing the macaroni and cheese. That was the best mac and cheese we have had so far in Portland. The Reuben was very juicy, and they didn't scrimp with the meat. I had to take the Shepherds pie home after a few amazing bites, having enjoyed too much macaroni and cheese.
We will definitely go back and try other menu items. 😋
Came here for a late lunch today and were very impressed! Great food and service. Husband got the shepherds pie and I got the chicken Caesar, then we shared the bread pudding!!
Shepherds pie blew him away, and he’s very picky with his Irish food. Bread pudding was very good as well, we loved the golden raisins and caramel flavor of it, and it came with whipped cream on top that melted into the bread which added extra creaminess.
Fantastic spot! We’d love to come again!
Always get the Shepherds Pie! Best one I’ve found. Also grabbed the Corned Beef and Cabbage plate. So tender and flavorful!!! Live music every evening, awesome place.
Very pleasant stuff and good atmosphere. I ordered fish & chips. Fish was gorgeous looking, and pieces were huge. Unfortunately, it had no flavor. Salt, pepper, paprika, garlic and herbs on the fish, or in the batter would have been great.
Loved Kell's Irish Pub. Great food, drinks, atmosphere, service and live music! Drinks and food are so good and reasonably priced. Had a fun time!
The service was great. Bread pudding is very tasty. Burger was average. Corned beef and cabbage should have been hotter.
Wonderful find in Portland. Service was fast and friendly. Food arrives quickly and is flavorful. Comfortable and friendly atmosphere, with a cigar lounge downstairs. Humidor is limited, but some quality names and blends available. Food and drinks are served in lounge as well. Worth visiting more than once.
Highly recommend! My husband and his family have been telling me great things about Kells and I finally got to experience it for myself. We visited on a Thursday evening and it was somewhat slow, but was starting to get busy when we left. The service was nice. They had live celtic music playing that made for the perfect atmosphere. There is so much to take in at the restaurant - music, architecture, decor, etc.
We both enjoyed their self brewed beer and cider options, the nachos, fish & chips, and a reuben. The nachos were the best Irish style nachos we've had. The fresh potato chips were the perfect texture and thickness and all the toppings were tasty. The fish and chips are one of my husband's favs! He often tries the fish and chips at restaurants and he always references back to Kells as a way to judge. The reuben was super tasty! My fav of the entire meal were the house pickles included with my reuben. Wow - so good!!
I did not pay attention to signage about whether under 21 individuals can dine, but I would say you could still enjoy dinner with your family at Kells at appropriate times.
Again, highly recommend! Thank you for a great experience!
Wanted to visit an Irish pub for a while and stumbled upon this place in downtown PDX.
Our server welcomed with a warm smile and was a fun person to talk to. We tried old fashioned and orange mule (both good)
Ordered some bbq chicken wings and they were fresh and tasty. Owner of the restaurant was Irish and we had a fun time chatting with him.
Live music! Good food! Good folks!
I was here for a private event held upstairs in a beautiful hall with stunning high ceilings. Chandeliers hung down and a projector with screen discretely hung at one end. The 2 bars, the chairs and tables and other furniture was solid and stately. Their was lots of friendly staff and the event manager Tracy was on site the whole time helping as needed. 5 stars to this Portland icon.
Very cool atmosphere, it's a classic Irish Pub, but a big one. We had the curry on fries, which turned out to be a great combination.
By far my favorite bar in Portland! The Service was exceptional and John was amazing, attentive, and friendly. The staff definitely made me feel welcomed. Will come back and enjoy the ambiance, live music, and the food when traveling here.

We didn't have any food, but from what I saw, no complaints. There is a wide variety of Whiskey available and I highly recommend sampling a few. If you need a hand deciding, the staff will gladly help you out or give you more time. It was a busy Saturday night when my group was there, 5 of us, and it seemed that only two people and a chef were working, but we were never made to feel like a burden or hassle. We were welcomed and thanked for being there. I can't recall the waiters name, likely due to how much I was enjoying the Whiskey, but I think his band was Dylan. He was incredibly kind and attentive, even though he had many tables. The live music was loud, but not an issue. It was a fun vibe and I would definitely go back. 10/10 - Recommend!
Great place to go in Portland. Humidor cigar room downstairs. Great find and drink. Excellent time!!! Great people. Very friendly and courteous providing an amazing experience. There is all atmosphere of leisure and class. I will definitely go back many more times. Thanks for making this celebration one of the best. The mystique of the cigar room adds to the experience. Kelly’s is definitely an experience of its own amongst the plethora of Portland experiences.
Excellent British pub with huge selection of beers and ales, as well as all the usual pub favorites. Fish and chips was superb. Chips (fries) were exceptional. Ambience is wonderful.
Live music and great atmosphere! Service was nice. We Checked out the Cigar room downstairs, if I was a smoker I feel I would like to hang out there. Ballycastle Sausage Roll was too soft for my liking. Not sure if the sausage is supposed to be mushy, but it was soft like mashed potatoe. I Kinda wonder how they stapled the dollar bills to the ceiling.
