The first thing that one notices upon entering the restaurant is a huge birdhouse. I was initially perplexed but it all made sense once we were seated in their patio. It's surrounded by a slew of birdhouses with a gigantic fountain in the center of it all. I don't get the motive, but it's a very unique Portland thing to do. To this day, I believe this is the best restaurant patio in all of Portland.
The food is farm-to-table Pacific Northwest inspired. We ordered a bunch of items. We particularly enjoyed their cauliflower soup and their crab deviled eggs. My pasta had the proper amount of sauce, it was seasoned perfectly, and had a pleasant texture. The salads were fresh and the pizza had an astounding crust.
The staff was attentive, accommodating, and didn't rush us. The wine was good as well as their cocktails. The only major negative is that we had to send several drinks back because of dirty glassware.
The restaurant was decorated with fall produce which made it seem like we were in a country kitchen. I really enjoyed sharing the pantry board that had five different options like mushroom and squash arancini and Dungeness crab deviled eggs. I had the "Skyline Beet Salad" and a winter squash soup with roasted pumpkin seeds and both were well prepared. I also got to taste the seafood risotto which was creamy and delicious.
Best. Crab. Bennedict. On. Earth.
