Went for dinner with family from out of town. They didn't have a table for 5, but found a table for 4 that would work. Our server was great and very patient. We had one of our party with very specific dining needs. We had a pizza, 2 orders of gnocchi, and a seafood type stew. For flavor of food, I'd say it was a 6 out of 10. It was good, but a little bland. I wish they would turn the flavor up. Definitely worth trying.

We ate at Lucca last March on a visit to Portland and I can't stop thinking about the classic Caesar salad I had there. The romaine lettuce had flavor, real flavor like I suspect romaine lettuce should taste like everywhere but doesn't.

Stopped in while visiting Portland. The food was amazing and fast, especially for how busy it was. The staff was friendly and attentive. Will definitely try to go back.

Good ambience and vibes, customer service was amazing. The appetizers were excellent, salad was very fresh.. Wood fired Pizza could have been better, nice but a little under done. The only thing I was surprised with was the employee healthcare tax added to the receipt, I’m all about benefits but I would rather see the cost reflected upfront in the price of food items than the surprise at the end. Overall a lovely experience, the exceptional customer service was definitely the biggest plus.

The service was excellent. The food was even better, they have been around for awhile and the reason is consistency. Also love that the menu is perfect sized just enough options to please everyone.

Our family had a fantastic meal. The staff could not have been more accommodating and pleasant, even though they were unexpectedly short-handed. If you love Italian food, this is your place; although expect your meal choices to be taken up a notch or two. Some really nice surprises on the menu mixed with more traditional expectations. Clearly, the chefs are having some creative fun, and the results are delicious! Reservations are highly recommended.

The food here was some of the very best Italian food I have ever eaten, and I've lived in Italy... It was tomato week, and we ordered the burrata salad, which came with heirloom tomatoes. Pistachios, shishito peppers, burrata, and the dressing- it was magical. We moved on to the caeser salad- the butter lettuce was soft and sweet, simply excellent. The bolognese was perfectly al dente, but the pizza- wow! Thinly rolled, puffy, crunchy, and delectable! I will be back here again!

Lucca has a great atmosphere. Our waiter gave us incredible service and the staff was very friendly. I had a pizza that was pretty good, the crust was average. My wife had a Bolognese that she really enjoyed. The wood fired bread was very very good.

Italian-American restaurant. The place is spacious. There is a suitable distance between the tables for those who are afraid of covid Menu is limited but the dishes are delicious. We ordered pizza, pasta and salad. They were all great. Pizza with excellent crunchy dough. Pasta is well made with an excellent sauce. And a delicious salad. We also ate 3 desserts that were really tasty. We really enjoyed it.

This photo doesn't do it justice. A beautiful spring pizza with mild flavors. I enjoyed the shrimp and crab ravioli. Always a pleasure Lucca.

Went on a business lunch here on a recommendation. It’s a really quaint neighborhood eatery; parking was surprisingly easy no problem. Everyone there is super friendly and attentive. Little to no wait on anything during the whole time. Great ambience and decor for anything from a business meal to a date night. Food is fantastic! We both had the Caesar Salad. My colleague had the pizza which he said was great. And I had the garganelli pasta dish which is phenomenal. The sauce and mushrooms are excellent but it’s the house made fennel sausage that is the star of the show. We split the house made pistachio ice cream which is as good as it gets. I definitely plan on returning and highly recommend that you give them a try.

Every dish I have ever ordered at Lucca's has been exceptional. The grilled peaches, the olive oil cake , The grilled salmon, the fungi pizza. They have an exceptional wine list and knowledgeable and very friendly staff.

Love the food, atmosphere and bartenders were really nice. I liked the mix drinks they made. Reserve a table if you don't want to wait $5/glass wine at 5pm. Roasted Brussels sprouts and delicata was our favorite.

My girlfriend had been walking by this restaurant for a few weeks and had always wanted to go as from the street everyone inside always seemed to enjoy themselves. When we arrived they had just started to get busy and we were lucky enough to get 2 spots. We were pleasently welcomed by the waitress and we're allowed the perfect amount of time to choose our initial drinks and when they arrived we were greeted by one of the best "bread appetizers" I've had! Their cocktails are definitely some of the best I've ever had. The wine selection with dinner was also exceptional and the main dishes speak are also delicious. This place may be a little higher priced, but the food and experience are WELL within the value. Highly recommend!!!

One of our favorites. You know it's a neighborhood institution when there is always parking in the 8-car lot, yet the restaurant is always buzzing - most people walk. There are always couples at the bar, multi-gen families, ladies tables, prom gaggles, you name it. No matter who shows up or how they arrive, they make them welcome. We drive cross-town to get there. Pizzas are WONDERFUL - change with the season. We love the ones with pear or cherries!! Our gang is half vegetarian, half omnivore, occasional vegan, gluten-free - everyone goes home happy. Always start with roasted veg of some kind. Whatever they do with cheese is heavenly. Duck and lamb to die for. Elegant fish. Their desserts are perfect, and even small, plenty to share.

First time here was for Portland Dining Month. I read a lot reviews prior and couldn't agree more with them. Delicious food and great service. I recommend Lucca and will be back soon.

It was such a fantastic dinner at Lucca! The pizza was served as an appetizer, and I loved the pasta main course. Our server was fabulous! Location in a quaint Irvington neighborhood was the cherry on top.
