Great food and staff the best blueberry pancake I've ever had also had the fishermans omlete it was great went on Saturday morning they had a classical guitar player again just perfect
Kitschy little place in an underserved area of NE Sandy. It sits next to the Cameo Hotel, but as far as I can tell there's not official connection. The interior looks like it has intentionally remained the same for 30 years, though the server informed me that "we've been open for a REALLY long time, like 20 years!" She was pretty young.
The prices were surprisingly high and not in keeping with the vibe of the place, though the portions were HUGE. Half of my omelette was rewarmed for lunch. It was pretty good if uninspired. The wait staff was tremendous.
Good but a little pricey. I decided to try this place on a Sunday morning. It was packed at 10 am, but I sat at the counter right away. I was intrigued to try the bulgogi omelette, but it has 5 eggs and is apparently huge and $15. They will make you a smaller one but charge you the same price (?). So my visit here left me with mixed feelings. On one hand, I thought this was a well run, cozy place with friendly staff and owners. On the other, the breakfast was fairly pricey for what I got and I felt rushed to order due to their being busy. The pancake was massive: one pancake is known as "1/4 acre" and it runs off the plate. It is equivalent to 3 small pancakes at most places. It was ok, but I couldn't finish it, and I am a fairly big guy. I also had an egg and two slices of delicious, thick sliced bacon and good coffee. I would recommend this place, but order with caution because their standard orders are a ton of food. You can split any order with someone for $1 extra and that is definitely the way to go here if you have somebody with you.
This is one of my favorite breakfast places. It's a small place ran very well some times theres a wait but its worth it. The food is always consistent and delicious. It's got a variety of food fare that is not your typical breakfast. For example the buckwheat pancakes, kimchee hash and a few of my favorites which is the kimchee bulgogi omelette and the pindeattok . I took a picture and posted it. :)
Huge Portions. Love the staff here! Be careful as the portions are quite large... my girlfriend and I left a lot of food on our plates.
Big portions, great food, a little crowded though. Gargantuan pancakes! Well worth it.
Good experience to have. We went in for brunch today. we were enchanted by the people there, particularly by Sue Gee.
the food was korean basic with nicely subtle seasons, cooked in front of us, the atmosphere was sweet, and we went on our way with a good feeling.
recommended for anyone who appreciates fresh korean food made by kind people in a kinda quaint setting. great date breakfast!
COCONUT WAFFLES....coconut waffles......
The Sue Gee special. Real Hash browns (with fake butter/flavored oil), eggs done to order, pancakes that would feed a family for a week, as good as it gets: sausage, bacon & etc. The "strong bread" is Perfect; the service is practiced. The food is Old School Diner mixed with Korean. Have I had better diner... Yes "Otis Junction", have I had better Korean... Yes! but somethings like a pancake with veggies and grilled cheddar served with a spicy soy sauce... Come here for breakfast! You will like it! Your mom from the Midwest will like it! and the Asian exchange student living with you will like it too!
A fav place. Love going to the Cameo, always good food, always good service. It can be a bit crowded though on weekends but then, isn' that a good sign? We always grab a loaf of Strong Bread to go.
Crowded but cozy. Everyone's in a good mood because they're getting some really excellent food. There are breakfast places that offer the same old same old and then there are those that bring something unique to the table. Cameo falls into the latter camp. The staples of Bacon, eggs, pancakes and omelets taste fresh and vibrant. For added spice there's the Korean interpretation of the American classics. I am a fan of the Kim Chi omelet. Finally, you will find the host engaged and receptive to her guest's experience. A breakfast at the Cameo is truly a positive experience.
The breakfast is so good. Nice amount of portions and the staff is cheerful
This place is a wonderful mix of classic breakfast/lunch foods with a festive addition of Korean influenced foods. LOTS of veggie selectios - the Veggie Eggs Benefict is so good I hope they add it to the regular menu. Festive and attentive service. Good prices. Huge portions. Oh Baby sauce and Strong Bread. If you can get in, you'll be really happy. VERY LGBT friendly. I was here with my Honey, and spontaneously a waitress (not ours) stopped by to admonish us to realize how lucky we are. We'll be back.
Cute little breakfast place in the skinniest building. Place is pretty space-challenged so better to come in groups of 2 and come early since it gets packed. There's also an outside area that's covered for overflow guests
Partner and I tried and loved their veggie fusion pancake which came with soy sauce and hot sauce. Food and service was quick.
We were charged an extra dollar for our food, even before tip was calculated. Maybe this was because the two of us only ordered one dish in between us???
Otherwise great food. Will still come back to try their other plates
This place is just amazing. You are literally welcomed with open arms! The owner slides the door open for you and warmly seats you herself.
The vibes are impeccable. There is live guitar and laughter in the air and real maple syrup on the tables.
You can get a steak or pancake, as the sign says, but also many delicious Korean dishes. Even just the house special hot sauce adds a delightful Korean flair to a regular breakfast if thats your choice.
Prices are very reasonable, only slightly higher maybe than a chain diner, but barely.
Service is great, the food comes out lightning fast and piping hot. They bake their own bread. Just a wonderful little breakfast place all around.
Happened to be driving by from the airport. Just an impromptu stop because it looked unique. It was awesome! Atmosphere is something you just can’t explain until you go. The service was amazingly good and friendly. Excellent food! I highly highly recommend you stop in for a delicious meal.
This little whole in the wall breakfast place caught me by surprise! Absolutely stellar service and their crab and shrimp omelet was 🔥. The biscuits and gravy was amazing too and the best part is the size of the bacon. They also are exceptionally large portions which is everything I wanted. The building looks so ancient on the inside you can feel the energy of hundreds of years of happy customers I will visit again.
Food is fantastic service is great a little cramped inside but very cozy
Live music playing in the corner
If I could give 6 stars for atmosphere, I would. Cameo Cafe East is the best Diner I have been to in the Portland area. The sound of guitar being played live and decor, makes you feel right at home. Then came the food, and let me say, it did not disappoint. From beginning to end, my experience at Camero Cafe East was of the highest quality.
My favorite breakfast restaurant in Portland! I bring all of my friends from out of town here for a truly unique experience. The owner and all of the employees are so sweet. My grandma who is extremely picky loves it!
Nice classic diner feel to the place. I was immediately greeted and the service was great!! Prices are little higher than expected but well worth it. The portions are huge and the food is delicious. Their house made hot sauce is amazing. A nice substitute for huy fong during the drought, but this will be a regular sauce in my collection now. Great experience!!!
If you like mom & pop shop diners then come check this place out. It's mom & pop with some Korean twists.
Staff was super friendly and so was the owner. You could tell they both cared about the operation.
Food was exactly what I was looking for.
They make their own hot sauce and seasoning blend. The hot sauce is yummy... Starts off sweet then adds a little heat.
I will def be back.
If you love diner food this place is the best! The blueberry pancakes with raspberry sauce is amazing and HUGE!! The bacon is think and perfectly cooked! If you are in the area stop by and see Katie! High energy waitress and lots of laughs! So good and I recommend them all the time!
