Michelada was bomb!!! I saw others people's drinks and they looked bomb too haha it's all guys working right now idk if there is any girls working here but the guys where super nice and helpful, I sense a huge teamwork vibe and the guys work very hard, place is super clean, bathroom is funny (small) haha but I think it's a cute touch for my toddler hehe I recommend this place will probably be back again gracias muchachos :)
Loved the food and the margarita was delicious. Small with limited seating though
My friend and I love stopping in here during our lunch hour. Great food, good portions, and good prices. The salsa is the best and they have Cherry Coke in the bottle. yum!
The Brazilian burrito is ,what some of my peers may call, fire!! It's mild to people who consume spicy food regular but may be spicy for those with "bland" taste buds. It was wet, which to me was amazing. The burrito also came with some chips and a side of salsa. Not bad, especially for the price paid!
The only thing I wish had happened earlier was faster service especially when there are 3 people behind the counter ready to serve and only one person ahead of me.
Delicious food, Fast Service, Great staff and Atmosphere. Good prices too.
We ordered: Carnitas green enchiladas with black beans, Carne asada burrito, Carne asada tacos and a filled churro.
100% recommend, We’ll be back!
It says 'awesome' on the door, and it is! The quesadilla was particularly delicious - everything made fresh in front of you. The level of choice in terms of drinks and extras is mind-boggling. The burrito I had (with Brasilian beef) needed a wee bit of a salt, but was flawless apart from that.
I’ve been coming here since 2019 and it’s delicious every single time. If you love tacos, Al pastor, enchiladas, and especially horchata this is a must for you.
I think this may be the best Mexican restaurant in downtown Portland. Certainly has been here the longest. Through Covid and the protest it maintains its foundation. Still has its own unique atmosphere.

Mayas Taqueria in Portland is an absolute gem! It's not just a spot; it's a flavor expedition that has become one of my all-time favorites. The prices are a pleasant surprise, making it a steal for the unbeatable explosion of tastes. A visit here is more than a meal; it's a savory journey that I can't recommend enough. Prepare your taste buds for an affordable adventure that redefines the taco experience!
Tried this place recently while I was in Portland and I must say that it was great! Prices were generous and the portions were good too. I had the platter which had the taco and enchilada and that was delicious! The restaurant was colourful, inviting and well-decorated. Staff were also pleasant during my visit.
Prices were very good for the portions you got. The menu is very large with everything you’d normally expect from a Taqueria. The staff were also very quick. Decent amount of seating for its size as well.
Great window seating. Love seeing my options and choosing was looks great. Had the pork bowl with black beans, rice, guacamole and cheese. Very tasty. Highly recommend if you are in the area.
Small place but big on flavors and lots of menu options! Indoor and outdoor seating, and if you like mangoes, the mangonada is a big glass full of fresh mango and tajin (chili lime) seasoning - and you can add tequila!
I ordered. 2 sopes of deshebrada they were delicious, a good portion meal. You can have salsa. I founded this place as an Authentic Mexican Food.
It is not Tex-Mex.
If you are in downtown you need to come and enjoy the best Mexican food in Portland.
By far this is the best Mexican Food in #PDX! It's fresh, friendly and really fast if you need to get in and out for lunch break.
They also do Catering and that's a huge plus for successful parties and kids birthdays.
Plus they have a plethora of beer choices on two and in bottle - they have all the Mexican beers - even carry Victoria, one of my favorites.
Highly recommend stopping by if you're traveling into or through town. The Max and the trolley stop by there - just a block down from the public Main library branch, too.
My favorite is - well, everything.
Lately I have been doing a black bean option for my vegetarian version of dishes. They have regular pinto beans and refried beans, too.
Next will be their Enchiladas.
I love their Nachos and their homemade hot sauce is excellent.
Mayas Taqueria is a survivor that has delivered great food and a place to be right in the middle of town. Great food at reasonable prices, made right up and fast, cold beer available, comfortable seating, especially upstairs. This place has been here for so long, and with the same basic set up, it feels like your favorite pair of shoes. Comfortable, solid, friendly.
One of the better Mexican take out joints. Plenty of meats to choose from. A bit stingy with salsa. PRO TIP: If you like lots of flavor, try the Brazilian beef. UPDATE: Bland the 2nd time. I'll try something different next time. Check out my profile for more great eateries and cocktail bars. ✌🏼✌🏼
The food is spicy and plentiful. The service is a bit spotty, and the max trains rumbling by constantly are distracting; however, it's definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a quick bite.
