This place was very good definitely recommend even tho they messed up our meal they made it right and the service was amazing!
I've had this place on my To Visit list since I moved into NoPo a year ago. It had a very familiar vibe to it and I couldn't shake the feeling that it was very similar to Tabor Tavern, one of my favorite restaurants on the east side. A quick inquiry confirmed my suspicions and I am so excited because I love their sister spot so much! They even have Bacon Jam!! <3. The menu made for some tough decisions to make, everything looked amazing. Hubby and I shared two entrees: The Porkchop and the Seared Salmon (complete with bonus Mussels!). So much yummy!! Mara made me a simply delightful Old Fashioned and we capped the meal off with one of the best creme brulee's I've had the pleasure of devouring. Thanks Zig, for sharing your expertise with the North end. Now I have two amazing spots to enjoy all the time. Great job!
The food was delicious, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, and the vibe was upscale casual. Loved it!
The food at Swift & Union is consistently excellent, innovative, on point. Generous servings, perfectly cooked and seasoned, beautifully presented.

Swift & Union is the (only) place to go for fine dining in my Kenton neighborhood. We ate outside, streetside, and it was very pleasant. (Staff can't do much about the weather, but thankfully the heat has abated and so temps were fine.) The City has required landscape stormwater runoff "troughs" on Denver street so the restaurant tables are near some very lovely vegetation. We have eaten inside before, and I find it a bit noisy. The service was professional and efficient. We shared a laarb salad, and always love the lamb burger. (Do order it rare.) This was the first time we tried the Steak Bahn Mi and liked it very much. Our sides were tomato soup and fries and those were winners, too. Stuck with water this time, but in the past we've enjoyed the adult bevvies.
Holy crap that was good! Service was great, burgers were great, crab fritters were amazing and all the prices were reasonable. Seriously a place worth going to.
This an excellent place, great food and service, plus it’s in the iconic Kenton business district
Consistently great food here, outstanding staff and service. Not just an IPA on the beer list but an IPA selection, love that. Came here recently with a party that grew way too large generally for a space of their capabilities but they handled everything amazingly well
Always consistent, always delightful! I cherish this neighborhood gem! Great food, nice variety of beer options and delicious cocktails
The cocktails and food was amazing. The steak frites to die for! And the beet salad!
Found this restaurant on Yelp. First, great atmosphere with good lighting and colors. Second, great service. Our server, Karissa, was just the right amount of attentive. Third, French fries. We will be back often even though it's a 30 minute drive.
It was slammed when we visited and the servers were running around but very friendly. Food came out pretty quickly and we all loved our food aside from one of us. His French dip was not very good but it may have just been an off night. My smoked pork tenderloin was very tasty, if a tad overcooked. The fish and chips were delicious and generous. The mushroom pasta was lovely. I really enjoyed the experience and look forward to coming back again.
Well prepared food, drinks, and dessert. It was so much better than what I was expecting. WTG!!
Great, kind, thoughtful, helpful, and patient staff and servers.
Whatever you're doing, keep it up! SO, SO, SO good. I'll be back!!!
I found parking to be tricky because it seems like it's street parking only. So, finding parking can be frustrating. Also, lots of 30-minute, 60-minute parking, which made the amazing experience at this restaurant, create an aspect of anxiety, which is subjective to each individual.
A friend and I were looking for a place to have lunch and we stumbled upon Swift and Union. We had been discussing that fish and chips is what we were both wanting. When we walked in to take a gander at the menu lo and behold, there were fish and chips on the menu. We were trying to decide if we would sit outside but then we just took a table inside. The environment is very casual and inviting, our wait person was prompt to acknowledge us even though they were rather busy. We both ordered the fish and chips and had a beer from their great selection of local breweries on tap.
Before we knew it our food had arrived and what a pleasant surprise. We both looked at each other and said "I've never seen just one large piece of fish presented before" the fish was moist and flaky and the batter was something that I've never tasted before. It had a tangy but yet slightly sweet combo that worked perfectly with cod. The fries were house cut & prepared, the same with the coleslaw, which had the perfect amount of sesame seeds and fresh horseradish mixed with it. All in all a fine meal. Price points were excellent for what we received. We will definitely be going back and recommending to our friends.
We had lunch here for the first time. We were recommended to the place as a nearby destination that serves Barley Browns. The food was excellent and fast, and the bar tender serving us seemed like he was genuinely the nicest guy. Very positive experience. Outdoor seating was delightful on a sunny fall day! 😎
Wedge salad, prime rib dip, Bloody Mary. Perfect Sunday and so tasty
Fantastic little restaurant with amazing fresh food. Everything except the bread seems to be made from scratch. They even make the ketchup. Very reasonably priced. I will have to come back for dinner and try it again.
Solid place. Been here several times despite it being across town. It's an enjoyable, typical dinner atmosphere. Solid beer options. Food is well above average. Service was about average. Definitely worth checking out if you're near by.
One small TV near the bar area. Not the best place to go watch a game but the local game might just be on with you roll in.
This place has an amazing happy hour. Not only the price but the serving size is well portioned. Without a doubt one of the best places in north Portland to have brunch. I recommend the eggs Benedict on a fresh home made biscuits and smoked pulled pork smothered in hollandaise sauce, yum, yum, yum! And as always having a nice clean bathroom is a must and this place has two unisex bathrooms that are roomy and clean.
we really liked this stop for lunch!!
the caprese salad was a delightful heap of greens with balsamic, mozzarella and lots of tomato. the salmon cakes were different - interesting spices, I thought they were decent (nothing outstanding). the custard french toast was really tender and the whip cream made it great. (really sweet, of course.)
cute place and we'll come here again for a fresh meal!
Great burger place. The food is very good. Love the fries. Tried the fish and chips plus the turkey sandwich, all were excellent. Prices are a bit high but every restaurant is jacking up prices. Service was pretty quick for a packed restaurant.
First timer. We came in for an early lunch. It was nice and comfortable inside. I ordered the fish and chips but substitutes the chips for a salad. My son ordered a cheeseburger and it came with fries. Our lunches came out appropriately timed, not to quick and not to long. They were hot and freshly made.
My fish was a real fillet with the tail blunt slightly curled up. The breading was nice and light. And the salad was had a nice oil and vinegar dressing. My sons cheeseburger was VERY tasty and a perfect medium. We will definitely have lunch here again and hopefully we’ll be able to have dinner sometime when we come to Portland again.
Staff was great and the bathroom was nice, well lit, and especially clean. 👍👍👍
Very solid flavors for an okay price. The menu isn't too extensive though. We got the Union Burger and the Lamb Burger. Patties could have been slightly larger, but they were cooked well. The accoutrements that came with, like the Bibb lettuce and onions, were very fresh and sweet. The decor is also nice and fits with the industrial, small town feel of the area.
Great burgers and loved the Lamb Burger with Pesto. The fries were great!! Really relaxed atmosphere, very inviting!!
Our server, Steven, was exceptional and super attentive. Very friendly staff!
Also, if you like bourbon try the Cherry Bomb, yum!!!
First of all our waitress was super great! My salmon Picatta was absolutely delicious! The salmon was some of the tastiest salmon I've had in a long time! Prices are reasonable and my Manhattan was fantastic! Overall an amazing experience and I HIGHLY recommend dining in here!
Great staff and management, excellent customer service. Really good food. Parking in this neighborhood is VERY challenging. Inside of restaurant is a bit small, but they have outdoor/ sidewalk dining when weather is warm.
We had such a great meal here last Sunday. The chef's killed it, my polenta bowl was outstanding seasoned perfectly corner to corner. Everyone else's plates were gorgeous. Thank you!
Would really prefer 4.5 stars if that was possible. Contemplated a 5, but don't want to get in the habit of giving away 5 stars too easily. The place is overall great. Had a burger that was lights out. Kids enjoyed pasta. There are only subtle little things that are nitpicky. Fries started out awesome but kinda went soggy after a few minutes. Salad dressing was just a tad too light. Water glasses were a little short and couldn't hold much ice or had to be refilled more frequently... Honestly not bad stuff. Just little details. Overall really enjoyed. Service was great. Food was all 8/10+. They had their bacon game dialed. Pricing is in line with the area for a sit-down place. It's definitely casual, but in a comfortable way - not low quality at all. Would happily visit again.
