The best Rose tea! Lots of goodies here! Pastries, tea, turkey chutney sandwich and so much more! Worth every penny. Parking is a bit congested most of the time but otherwise I give it 5 stars!

Amazing! Forget about your pockets when you explore this place for handmade artisanal flavors of savory and sweet delight. My boys literally took 15 minutes to choose because se everything looked so good. My company also inquired about Holiday boxes for my accounts. There was no BS at B&S!

This is the best Portland bakery we have eaten in. It is comparable to any European bakery we've had the opportunity to visit.

Probably the friendliest bakery in town. The staff are nice, actually, fabulous. The drinks are amazing, and so is the food. I come here almost every day before or after school. Possibly the best thing, is the sense of community I get from the staff.

The food is as fresh as the season! You feel like you've been here a million times, even the first time because the staff are so nice and helpful. Definitely a treasure in Hillsdale

Best scones in the Portland Metro Area! Excellent soups ,food, bran muffins and a great selection of whole cakes to purchase. Love the coffee, not a fan of the coffee cup lids.

The only place I’ve found for delicious crumb cake that’s close to how I remember it from the East Coast. It’s also simply a wonderful bakery overall with great folks behind the counter. I’m not naturally a morning person, but they make mornings worthwhile.

Simply the best. Everything here is excellent, pastries, cookies, bread, Sandwiches, breakfast croissant, etc etc. fortunately don’t live in Portland anymore or would truly overindulge. Go whenever we visit tho:) have been going to them before they even had a brick and mortar location, when they were doing their amazing hand pies at the Portland farmers market:) and I am so happy they have only gotten better and better. And I find their staff very nice, harried as they are quite busy but always helpful and accommodating, and can’t wait to check out the cakery, as they also make amazing amazing cakes:) highest recommendation

Stopped by this awesome bakery called Baker & Spice in the SW Portland neighborhood of Hillsdale. Portland has a ton of bakeries and this place is one of the best! Baker & Spice has an offshoot store a couple doors down called The Cakery that bakes gourmet cakes. Gonna have to try it sometime as well!

Happened upon this little gem. I love baked goods. Got a small variety and everything was delicious. Great prices that won't disappoint. They sell out of items so get there early. Can't wait to go back.

Sad to hear they aren't doing cakes anymore! I came here to pick one up for a party. Fortunately they had a blueberry crumb breakfast-y coffee cake that I was able to take instead, that was still delicious. Highly recommend for breakfast pastries!

I live in California, but when I get the chance to go to Portland, my first stop is Baker and Spice. Seriously. It is my favorite bakery that I have ever been to, and trust me I’ve been to a lot of bakeries. Oink. I love almost everything they have there, but I especially love their sandwiches, coconut tartlets and lemon tartlets. And I love their cakes at the Cakery. Please go to Baker and Spice and change your life!

Every pastry was so good! The almond spiral was probably my favorite, but it was hard to choose. I loved how soft and chewy the cookies were and the tea cake was delicious! Will definitely have to come back to try more treats. I ordered online the night before which made pickup the next day so easy.

If you ask me what is my favorite bakery in town - Baker and Spice are the first to come to my mind. I trust their quality and it’s simply the best. Savory galettes are to die for and their pudding is so soft and fresh and not super sweet just how I like it. 🤍

The best bakery in the Metro area ! Our favorites are the rhubarb hand pies, the seeded sandwich bread, tayberry pear pie, cranberry scone, and the garden bread.

Hands down best bakery ever. I love trying something new every time I come here and I usually get at least 3 different things. There's so much flavor in every bite. This place is highly addicting.

These are the best bakers on the west side, and really good people. You MUST try the ham and cheese croissants, just fantastic. The pear handpie, dense and rich bread pudding, and scrappy (pecan roll type of a thing) are also essential. Covid specific: Placed an order online and picked it up 20 minutes later, super-fast and efficient. Called and let them know I was there, they brought the order to the door and I was off. So glad they’re still baking through all of this!

Everything baked fresh. The Katie Bun is a light & airy pastry that pulls apart, melts in your mouth & tastes like a cinnamon slice of perfection. Highly recommend!

They have all kinds of beautiful big pastries. They have a big bathroom and they have a family environment. Only had a soup with bacon in it so there's no vegetarian option since they do only once per day.

What an amazing bakery! Very retro, you grab a number when you walk in and then ogle the pastries behind the counter until they call your digits. Stepping up to the counter, one of their amazing staff members will answer your questions and take your order. From what I have seen, there isn't a bad thing on the menu. Personally, I highly recommend the ham & gruyere croissant as well as their breakfast biscuit sandwich. Parking can be a bit hard to find, despite the off-street lot, but Baker & Spice is very much worth a visit!

Definitely going to be returning! A great mix of different pastries and loaves of bread. A tip to other first timers - there isn’t a line to order but rather a numbering system. Inside the shop their is a small stand where you can take a number and then wait till they call it or shows up on the screen.
