Excellent service, yummy food and great beer!! Our server was super helpful and attentive. We all had something different on the menu and all 5 dishes where great! The Sunflower IPA was perfectly matched with the grilled cheese sandwich. The building was filled with history and very comfortable. Would defiantly recommend stopping by if you are in the St. John's area.

Doing the passport tour, collecting our stamps, and this place surprised us with its funky decor and laid back atmosphere. The waitress was beyond accommodating and very friendly. Food quality and presentation was superb. This McMenamins is at the top of our list of favorites!

We always have such a great time at this McMenamins. Devin is wonderful, attentive and funny. One of the things I appreciate most is that he brings out food for my kids first. We will definitely be back!

This is my favorite McMenamins to visit! The food is always great, and their staff is even greater, especially Devin! Whenever I go in and he’s working, I know my visit that day will be a good one!

Great food, friendly servers, neat atmosphere. Celebrated Hammerhead's birthday, and filled our growler.

The theater has closed captioning devices for the deaf that sit in the cup holder and work very well!! Makes for a comfortable movie experience!! The seats are pleasant and have plenty of legroom. There's a table to hold the food and drinks. Such a pleasant place!

Looove the look of this one! I could spend an hour studying the walls. I'll have to come back for the theater but no doubt it will be pretty cool too. Super friendly staff!

The atmosphere here is pretty decent. The food that I ordered unfortunately ended up being fairly bland. The drinks were good. The service was excellent! The service alone would get me to return back to this bar.

Saw a scary movie there for the first time. Great theater with a unique feel. Able to eat in the theater so you can save a spot. Definitely smaller than a typical theater (80 seats I think) but the visual and sound quality were really good. I’ll definitely come back for more movies! Great mixed drinks. Standard McMenamins food. I hope they do some classic movies or shows since there’s a little stage. I would definitely love to see Frankenstein or something there.

One of the more cozy Mcmenamins in Portland. Great vibe, nice staff. Good selection of beers and juuuust enough difference from other Mcmenamins in town. Has a great theater, awesome popcorn. Super good place to hang and enjoy yourself. It’s got a rad upstairs, nice stained glass windows. Also, great alcohol selection. And a weird but awesome toilet in the men’s restroom.

We arrived an hour early for the movie and so asked if we could sit in the theater until it started. They had no problem with that, so we had a seat and talked and sipped. After a few minutes, a gal came in and asked what our name was. "Uh, oh", I thought, thinking we'd violated some protocol. But she was just returning our debit card, which we had left in the card reader. Much appreciated! While we waited, there was a young staff gal who meticulously went through the theater, sweeping. She was doing the same in the restaurant area when we first came in. Kudos on cleanliness! All of the staff seemed extremely friendly and the atmosphere is very appealing.

One of my "Go to" places in St John's PDX. This McMenamins has a nice private outdoor garden complete with firepit. It's a fantastic place to stop in and have a pint of Ruby, Purple Haze or Terminator Stout along with a plate of fries. The menu is small and clean while the drinks menu has a fantastic amount of options. On a hot summers day, nothing beats a walk to St John's and stopping in here for a pint of McMenamins Cider. If you want to stay here longer, check out the cinema in side. They show movies at 3pm and 9pm and it makes for a great day out. A fantastic little pub and well worth the visit.

ThisbMcMenamins has a movie theater as well great atmosphere and delicious food. To top it off, it's a poke gym stop with a lot of poke stops around it. Very unique chandeliers and props around the building. Inside could get a little crowded perhaps on a major holiday like st. Patties day. But! If you go during happy hour on a Wednesday between 3 p.m and 5 it goes for a good date. Gots to go.

Spent the morning getting our hike on in Forest Park and the Zoo. Needed solid refreshments and decided to give our fav a try for the first time in a long while. Excited that we not only found parking but seating right away too! Getting a few different beers between the group - all tasty of course. And the ever delicious tots two ways. Cajun and naked! 😁🤘🏼😎

Such an idyllic little pub! Yani really embraced the McMenamins vibe and went out of her way to dig up some seasonal beer stamps for our passports. The theater is super cool and is over 100 years old! This isn’t a location to miss.

Saw a movie at the theater which is gorgeous under the dome with ornate sculptures, pictures and eclectic decorative touches along the walls, consistent with the appearance of the pub portion of the building. The theater for the inexpensive price and historical feel is just fine. The seats are comfortable, but not tiered or sloped so the risk of a hindered view is possible on a crowded night. The popcorn was stale, but other than that it was a very enjoyable movie-going experience!

Cool old church with large outdoor space. Great local brunch spot. Signature drinks/beer/whine ... + odd/unique decor, and cheap movies... make for an Awesome local hangout. Ask them about their passports too... you can get stamps for visiting all of the McMenamins. Update! June 19, 2020. They are sanitizing tables in between customers and providing an extra coaster to cover your beverage.
