I've been eating the #17 large here for at least 10 years and it never fails to cure hangovers, colds, and weather-related dysthymia. The service is quick and the prices are great. Some places charge up to $13 bucks for a bowl of pho (hello Fish Sauce? LOL), but not these guys. I also love the success story of the family.

I'm obsessive about my broth and I can tell you that the best time to eat is around 3pm. This falls between the lunch and dinner rushes and they usually seem to have a fresh run of broth that is teeming with beef fat globules and more intense flavors. Plus, there aren't a lot of people around which makes the service even better.

Best Damn Pho Period!. I absolutely love Pho and have been to numerous places both here in the Portland metro area and elsewhere. Pho Hung is by far my favorite Pho restaurant. They have fast and friendly service and excellent food. I highly recommend them.

The best Pho in Portland metro area. They have added a few locations and all serve same menu. Simple and very flavorful.

A lot of Vietnamese places do either Phở good and Bún not so great or vice versa. This place does everything fantastic. Phở Hùng is one of my two favorite Phở places in Portland. The food is authentic and fresh, has lots of flavor, and the portions are just right. The service here is good, and the prices are very reasonable. Another bonus is that they have their own parking lot, which is a major bonus in a big city like Portland. Yelp

Very tasty and fresh. Best beef stew ever had anywhere, with the right amount of spices. The vermicelli salad with the fish stuffed fried tofu skins was also tasty.

Out in Portland. Ample parking. Open dining area really spacious. Hostess / service was great . We had the lemongrass chicken and the beef stew. The food was OK. First time without picked salad, had broccoli. The chicken seemed a little dry but all chopped up in small pieces. The beef stew / noodles was good-consistency with mild spicy-ness. Would recommend the beef stew.

My favorite Pho restaurant in PDX! Local joint. Great beef pho for a good price. Fast service. Clean space. Weekend or weekdays, there’s always people.

Excellent pho! The broth is clear and super flavorful. The portion size is huge - I would’ve been satisfied with the small. The teriyaki chicken is also some of the best I’ve had in Portland. I will likely be back just for that and the crispy fried spring rolls. All around great place!!

Good to re-visit. Used to come often. Last time I visited was around 25 years ago lol It was around $5 at that time I think.

Being Vietnamese myself and being from the bay area I grew up with home made pho and many authentic pho restaurants at every corner. Therefore, I am very picky about the pho restaurants I go to due to my high standards. So I read reviews about how great the broth is at this place. I take reviews for pho restaurants with a grain of salt in the portland area because sometimes they're often provided by folks who never really had authentic pho.. But I gave it the benefit of the doubt and told my friend I wanted to try this place. She agreed. Got seated right away at 1130am. Our food order came out pretty fast. I got the Hu Tieu and it came with a fried chicken leg. The chicken leg was very very dry but the Hu Tieu was soooooo good. The broth was on point and it reminded me so much of home (which says a lot). It had so much flavor and a great balance of all the aromatics and spices. While I must tried the Hu Tieu, I have no doubt that the pho is equally as good because of the similar broth that is used between the two. Service was decent and even though it was getting busy, we did not feel rushed to leave My friend ordered the banh mi sandwiches and she said it was really good. I didn't try it but I made a mental more to buy one in the future. It did get loud and busy for the next hour and a half we were there. So this place does get busy. I plan on coming back here with my bf. The reason for my minus 1 star is that the dishes are kind of expensive for the type of food that is being offered.

You can say I found the new new favorite Vietnamese restaurant in town😍 The broth is so flavorful, and creamy almost. It is SOOO good, so far tried a few different dishes (take out for most of them so don’t have good pictures, will update if I get more) but none of it has let me down. Its 👌🏻👌🏻(chefs kiss) lol

This place was fantastic! Had a lazy Sunday where I was craving some pho and decided to search for the best pho restaurant near me in and this place was a standout. It had received lots of so we decide to go here and we're not disappointed. Some of the best I've ever had in my life and it was all affordable. I highly recommend would definitely come back here again wish I took photos.

Very good phò soup 🍲. Awesome bhan mi sandwich with fluffy french 🥖 bread. Very snappy service, very clean. You would be hard pressed to find a better spot to meet your Vietnamese cuisine needs.

Quaint little restaurant. Fastest service I have ever had, and some of the best Pho (#11) and deep-fried spring rolls. Would definitely recommend this spot and would eat here again!

If you are first time Pho eater, come here. The soup seasoning is mild, not heavily on spices as many other pho restaurants. I myself give it a 3.5-3.9 just because I ordered "gàu" ( a crunchy fatty cut of beef fat) and it was not it. Overall, ok for first timer.

I'll start out by saying that the food was exemplary. The Spring Rolls were extra crispy and the Spicy Beef Noodle Stew arrived at the table with all the color and depth of a bowl of glowing lava. The stew had great noodle lift, a nice little bite, layers of flavor, and there were plenty of basil leaves and sprouts to toss in. It was in fact one of the better bowls of broth that I have had in Portland, which is seriously saying something as I haunt the Pho shops like a lost ghost haunts crazy old cat ladies. I mean, the broth itself was even exceptionally beautiful, such a deep red and orange and yellow Well, sprinkled liberally with chopped green onion and hiding a treasure of tender beef and perfect noodles. So why only 4 stars out of 5? Am I one of those people who will only leave a 5 star rating if Jesus himself comes down out of the clouds to serve my table? No, I take a joy in dropping 5 stars on those who can wow me like this place wowed me. The problem is something else. The problem is the staff and it might not even be their fault. The place had a distinct cafeteria feel. It was busy of course and though it seemed the staff was banging, it did not look like they were understaffed, it was just, impersonal. Every interaction seemed rushed and distracted. I got none of that welcoming ethos that I find in so many Vietnamese Restaurants. If I lived down the street, I'd probably drop in pretty regularly, but I wouldn't go out of my way... I wouldn't take friends there or make it a destination, there are simply too many great places where the staff makes more of an effort to be friendly. I mean the meal came quickly, the staff seemed to be keeping the place clean and everything, but I just didn't feel welcome. I mean, man! When I went to the pho place where no one spoke much english, I still felt more welcomed than Pho Hung on Powell. The clientele was certainly different than most Pho places around, not one Asian Family that I could see. Lots of what looked like students from the area. I suppose I might be asking too much. Asking that I be greeted with some small semblance of friendliness, asking that the server pause for just a moment while taking my order , that someone smile for god's sake. There seems to be a disconnect there. I feel the passion, or at least the patience in the food, but not in the servers. I won't avoid the place, but it will never be a Destination. Four out of five isn't all that bad... really. I mean it's kind of good... right? But like I said, it might not be the staffs problem (other than youth). It might be a management issue. PS... Looking back over past reviews it becomes apparent that service is their weak point. Management generally replies with a standard "come try us again", but does not seem to address the issue. Before the place fulfills its true potential, they will need to deal with this.

Best pho in town. The rice combination plates are also great. Prices have been going up recently though but the Pho Dac Biet super bowl with extra noodles is enough to feed two.

I haven't eaten in the restaurant, but it's so extremely fresh and delicious that anytime I'm hungry and pass that area I order for pick up. I'm a bit of a cilantro freak, and they are HAPPY to accommodate me every time I ask for extra extra cilantro with my veggie mix. I am really happy to have found this place. Every time I order it feeds me 2-3 times if full meals....I have photos to share, but they're cold in my fridge and I don't think it would do justice for an online visual. But if you've been wondering about pho, looking for a good place to get local pho or just want to try something new I highly recommend them! I am sensitive to hot spice. Thankfully they put their hot pepper paste in a little plastic container for you to add according to your own taste. Just try it, you'll be happy you did!!

I’ve been coming here since I was 4, now in my 20s. I love love their fish ball pho & garden wraps. This one is much better than the one on 82nd, maybe I’m biased but the atmosphere & the memories cannot be beat. They’ve recently remodeled and repaved so it’s very bright & clean inside. Huge portions, well worth the price. (Runs about $40 for rolls, two pho and drinks for 2 people)
