The garlic knots are good but the pizza is consistently the best slice I've ever had. The pepperoni is crispy and perfect and the sausage is seasoned incredibly well. The sauce is tangy and dynamite and the crust is crispy and perfectly buttery. The deep dish is also awesome! Just wish I lived closer.

After four hours in a soul stew chased by Aquaman intent on melting my face, I left Stefano behind and wandered onto Stark, head aswim in retro beats. "I'm starving!" said I to friend on sidewalk, "Anything open?". A grunt and a gesture crooked finger pointing right. "Pizza". Thus began my gastrointestimal journey to the wonders of pizza by the slice at Baby Doll "open late". Upon ordering (meat, and uhm, that other meat) the lovely pieista confronted me with a choice of paper plates. Having drank at best guess a pint previous of something Stark and Stormy, and, to wit, not expecting a late night quiz, I stood nonplussed, my mouth slightly agape. "What are my options, like, fine bone china?" It turns out your option is paper plate or paper box. To my surprise and delight, I was presented with two slices on TWO paper plates, one artfully askew of the other. Oh, also, the pizza was tasty.

I love their gluten-free crust...it's thin and tasty, and crisps up/reheats wonderfully. Also kudos to the staff for paying attention...today I ordered 3 GF pizzas and a Caesar salad; I didn't say "no croutons" on the salad, but the staff noticed that the pizzas were GF, and added that detail for me, with the charming note "NO KROOTS" on the salad box. It was lovely of them to pay attention when I wasn't. :-)

Portland: Meet real pizza. By the slice, open late, no nonsense, char or too much artisan or arugula. Just pizza. Even Sicilian. And they don’t run out or stick an “a” in front of the pizza.

Much love from New Hampshire. Keep that attractive tattooed dough maker out of sight! Thanks Baby Doll for your hospitality and delicious pizza and drinks during our first time in Portland!

Your vegan pizza is super delicious! I think it's the best pizza option in town. I really enjoyed it. Great to have it just around the corner.

Ok, ok… this is the real deal. I know this is gonna be a bold statement, but this just might be the best pizza I’ve had in Portland. 🙀🙀 Perfectly crisp on the bottom, fresh tomato sauce, melty cheese, and killer peps! Open till midnight on Saturday which is a WIN!

Been coming to this spot for the last 8 years or so. It’s my goto and favorite pizza by the slice spot in Portland. Always consistent and rivals any other spot in town. The dough is killin and the topping distribution rules.

September 2023 update: Pandemic annoyance - most pizza places have pivoted to a 4:00 PM opening time. For me, one of life's great pleasures is a slice or two for lunch. Baby Doll is, happily, still open at midday, making me very happy when I'm driving around in inner S.E. Portland. A great deal of comfort can be found when cherished traditions do not change. Aside from lunchtime service, additional amenities include indoor seating, outdoor seating, and a highly efficient to-go operation. There is a large indoor dining space, separate from the counter area, decorated with pizza box artwork on the walls, as well as stacks and stacks of boxes waiting to be filled, which I consider to be a delightful form of art, in and of itself. Street parking in this neighborhood is much easier than other parts of the city where by-the-slice service tends to be found. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Older review: Excellent to-go experience. I called in an order, and it was available for pick-up at the time they quoted me. The lobby was well marked for a limited number of customers being inside at one time. The promptness of the order impressed me largely because they were BUSY. They had a large crew cooking and ringing up orders, and I was pleased to see the cashiers regularly checking with the people waiting outside, to make sure that nobody was standing on the sidewalk while their pizza was inside, starting to cool off. Just as it was before the pandemic, the pizza itself is delightful. We went with caramelized onions and sausage, and were very happy indeed.

Pizza had good flavor and it was quite large sized, I just was a little disappointed that it took so long to arrive. Placed the order at 4:15 and it didn’t arrive until 5:55 and I only live 10 minutes from the location.

Best quick service meal! Pepperoni was crispy and flavorful! This was the most affordable we had while in Oregon! Can eat in or outside! Sell by the slice as well! Highly recommend I'd your in this part of Portland to try it!

For me, restaurants fall into 3 categories - never coming back, will come back if someone else wants to go, definitely going back. This falls under category 2. Nothing wrong with the place. Service was great. Friendly, cheerful staff even though they were busy. But for me the pizza was "ok"...not bad but not great either. They sell by the slice or whole pies. We had 4 slices - veggie, vegan, pepperoni & meat. Didn't like the vegan one, others were decent.

Anything I could say about this place wouldn't do it justice! A great place to hang out, eat phenomenal hand made pizza, have a drink, ( I love the hazy ipa) and meet some awesome people! I absolutely love this place and have been many times!

Pizza was good, no complaints...got a veggie slice and quite enjoyed it. Not quite as authentic an NYC slice as I was hoping for, but passable enough, definitely won't regret it. Seating and ambiance is nice, the wood and decor helps mute sounds and the lighting isn't too bright. My biggest complaint was distant and distracted service and lack of transparent pricing on beverages. I greatly dislike buying something I don't have a clear price for, and have enough social anxiety I certainly don't like feeling I have to ask
