Tried this place for the first time. Found them through Uber Eats. Wanted to dine in but this place is only takeaway. Ordered Guttivankaya Curry, Chicken 65, Chicken and Egg Fried Rice and Gobhi Manchurian. Curry was ok but the other dishes were too good. You could get that real Indian Chinese taste. Everything was yummy, rightly priced and well portioned Recommended!!
I stopped by this restaurant en route from Washington Park and found that currently, the restaurant only offers takeout. However, the owner, a kind lady, allowed me to sit in their dine-in area while my order was being prepared. I ordered in bulk for a couple of meals for two, and the owner kept me engaged in polite, friendly conversation. She even made a few recommendations for day trips from Portland upon request and shared her personal experiences and insights while I waited for my order.
The food was packed neatly with multiple side chutneys that came with the order. All dishes tasted excellent, but my husband's favorite was the sambhar, which had the right amount of sweetness and sourness. We tried their uttapam, mysore masala dosa, samosas, veg hakka noodles, butter paneer (which comes with a side of rice), and chutneys (coconut, mint/coriander, tomato, and tamarind). The noodles were made spicy per our requested customization. However, be aware that it carries a solid punch and can be really hot if you're not used to that kind of heat.
Overall, it was a great experience. Although the food is on the expensive side, the excellent customer service, staff's friendliness, and delicious taste completely offset the cost-quantity ratio aspects. We would definitely visit this place again if we're ever in the city.
This place makes the best Indian food in Portland, but since COVID, it is take out only. Don't be deceived that there are no tables to eat and the space of the restaurant is being used for storage now. It's a bit odd. But I'm telling you this, you WILL NOT be disappointed, but you will be missing out if you don't order their food. I've been to India four times, I've had great Indian food in India, but nothing comes close to the food at Dil Se. Their paneer Tikka is so friggin good, their malai kofta is not over sweet, their chole batura is so flavorful. Every dish is amazing.
Just had lunch there and couldn’t stop sharing at once! Their food is delicious, service and staffs are so! But no wonder they don’t allow sitting inside. Just take out. Otherwise I would recommend 100%enn
Dil Se Indian is in my personal Top 3 of Indian restaurants on the West Coast. The prices are great for such insane flavor and generous portions. I haven't had a dish here I haven't liked yet. The Chennai Curry is one of our favorites. It has a unique blend of warm spices. Their raita is the perfect consistency in my opinion, neither too thick or too thin. Even something as simple as their Vegetable Fried Rice is delicious. We haven't ever dined in, since we only discovered them after COVID, so I can't attest for how it is in-house, but takeout and delivery, this restaurant is a regular staple for us when we don't feel like cooking.
OKAY! WOW! Dil Se Indian Cuisine, absolutely delicious. Did take out, the dine in is still unavailable. I did the chicken Tikka Marcela (medium) and garlic Naan. I also had to give the Raitha a try. That sauce is yummy. All the flavors and textures are fabulous. Will absolutely drive 25 minutes to Portland for this place again!
Ordered butter masala with chicken, samosas, malai Kofta and na'an. It was all so very good and the portion size is fantastic. We have enough for another full meal tomorrow. The rice was so well cooked and seasoned, something a lot of places overlook. I'll be eating in the next time I'm visiting.
We stopped by without knowing this place is takeout only. No worries. The service was excellent and the wait was not too long. We were all surprised by the authentic taste of delicious food. The Indo Chinese noodle with chicken was amazing!
Excellent taste. Food is kind of fusion. Don’t expect Typical South Indian or North Indian food. I liked mutton kurma fried rice more compared to others.
Wow. Yumm. I am of Nepalese descent and I thoroughly enjoyed the past two times I came here. The samosa Chan a chaat was fantastic. Not what I was expecting but it was a familiar, unexpected surprise.
Chicken tikka masala was delightful. The chicken wasn’t dry which is awesome.
The eggplant curry is pretty good but just know that it’s essentially a peanut curry.
I recently went to this place for a quick dinner. I ordered medhu vada, masala dosa and chai. Food was very delicious, specially chai. Wait staff was very friendly. I went there late on a weekday so the place was dead but I'm sure that's not the case for lunch time or early dinner. I would recommend this place for sure.
Last time I was here, I ordered their Indo-Chinese noodles. This meal turned out to be a tasty and enjoyable fusion in a large portion. I forgot to ask that they don't include cilantro in my dish, so I didn't enjoy it as much as I could have, although it was entirely my fault. However, my cilantro-less bites had such an excellent flavor which intrigue me to want to try more! In addition, I only picked up my order but the service was friendly and helpful. Good place overall!
