I know it seems a bit more expensive, but what you get is leagues ahead in a full dining experience. Full grade "A" table service & wonderful atmosphere. Tables and even the flatware is nice to the touch with reusable proper chopsticks šŸ„¢. What I have not tried before or my son was the fried šŸ£. It was the first time I ever tried this, and served with an amazing presentation. Make no mistake, this is a high end place but absolutely family friendly. They also have zero issues with custom orders & will make or cater to your order as you wish. Basically, it's the real deal Japan experience food & service wise. I'm a bit boisterous so it's not really a place for me for dinner. But I'm sure lunch service would be the time to go. Please be on your best edicute and you will enjoy the experience. It's a bit to formal for me, but my son loved it. Service here is out of this world 5 star quality. So if you want to impress someone on a date this is where you take them. Perfect for business meetings as well as it's one heck of a nice place inside. The selection on the menu is breathtaking. Lots to choose from. Portion sizes are large so come on an empty tank! If you are new to sushi? Or want a guided expert to help you see what flavors and tastes you would enjoy? I would happily recommend this place for a first foray as the wait staff is absolutely phenomenal!

This is a great spot for some delicious sushi. I imagine this place can get quite busy so eating outside of the rush hours for eating times would be suggested. The staff are friendly and helpful. Cash payments are preferred but if paying by credit card, then 3.5% is added total.

I tried to get a table at Zilla down the street and they were rude but Iā€™m really happy how it turned out because Hana was so so good. The service is great, the sushi chefs are legit, the fish melts in your mouth, thereā€™s a wonderful sake selection and the price is reasonable. If youā€™re deciding between places on Alberta go here!

My daughter made me promise to leave a 5 star review because it was BOMB. Our server was incredible as well! He had killer recs, and was so on top of service, he noticed before we did when our kiddo dropped one of her chopsticks. So basically incredibly killer service, and wildly fresh and delicious sushi! And look at that boat- how beautiful is that??

Favorite place to get sushi anytime I visit Portland. Only spent $100+/person because I was solo and hadn't eaten yet for the entire day. Otherwise with friends it would've been much lower per person.

Hana is a great Japanese Bistro, sushi, yakisob, miso, all the food is yummy. They do not have ramen, but they do have other great soups, vegetarian or shrimp. There are lots of options for the vegetarian or meet eater. Our kid loves the sushi. It takes a bit to get the food, but it's worth the wait. Everyone who works there is really nice, the place is clean with a comfortable atmosphere. It is moderate to expensive, but that is quality sushi.

We either order from or eat at Hana once a week, itā€™s definitely our favorite sushi in the neighborhood and everyone that works there is attentive and kind. We love to order out or sit at the bar and share the Alberta box and some sake. Highly recommend

Absolutely stellar sushi! Great prices. Service was a little slow considering they weren't busy and the restaurant was uncomfortably warm, but that wouldn't deter us from coming back for some delicious food!

Really solid lunch menu and teriyaki! They have a good miso soup and green tea as well. They also offer good sushi, I've tried their unagi a while ago and enjoyed it. The interior is pretty nicely decorated and service is friendly and fast.

Come for dinner with my husband to try their sushi, and I think it was the freshest fish I have tried in Portland definitely. My husband also agreed. Super delux sushi combo had an impressive selection of fish. I can't remember all but I really enjoy the O-toro and wild sockeye salmon.

The food and the service were both great. The owner, Yun, was there, so maybe the food is better when Yun is there:). (I saw that someone else complained about the quality of the food, so...) Nick was who I placed the order with. Both Nick and Yun were great. What I had: 1. To eat: the Sake Donburi. If you like salmon sashimi, you will like this. 2. To drink: the Sayuri sake, aka "Little Lily", was nice too. It's clowdy and on the sweet side. Cost: $32 + tip. (Dec 2022)

Dropped in for lunch on a whim. Was made a bit nervous by the sign saying under new management and new menu, that's usually not a good sign. However overall it was a very positive experience - we've got a new goto place for sushi now! We had the unagi don buri and chirashi. Both were excellent, much to the relief of my husband who has found most of the eel to be had in Portland to be pretty meh. The serving was generous, the fish was well if not expertly cut, and the variety of fish on the chirashi was surprising (eg, two different types of salmon). The chirashi presentation was nice and well arranged with decorative veggies and an edible flower. The fish was all extremely fresh and the texture was good. Prices were on the higher side, but we felt that the value for the dollar was definitely there. The dining area is clean, fairly spacious and airy, tastefully decorated and with minimal clutter. Some spots could use some TLC such as unfinished table top ends, but no big eyesores. The service was pleasant and unobtrusive. UPDATE: Came back for a second visit and was even more impressed. Changing to five stars, they deserve it. My chirashi was different from last time, which was great to see - that usually means the chef is choosing what is best each day for the dish, rather than just assembling it by rote. Selection was varied, fresh and delicious again! Loved all the little additions of sunomonos and pickles, really added to the flavour experience. My husband had a mango roll that had lackluster mango, and the management came over to make it right. They worked with us to find something else on the menu instead that we would like better (which turned out to be their awesome scorpion roll, would recommend!) The new management is definitely doing the right things and serving great food. The chef has good knife skills and the presentation is well above average. Looking forward to many more visits!

We were leery walking in, we didnā€™t know much about Japanese food! Shawn walks us thru the menu and was so patient with us! While sitting down to eat. The sushi chef Nick sparked convo with us. We were surprised and delighted by how pleasant, polite and kind he was to us! Low and behold he made us vegan sushi rolls that tasted AMAZING!!!! This is my new favorite place on Alberta! Great food! Great service! These people get it!!!

Comfortable, friendly spot with great service. Good selection of sushi and sake. The sweet chili edamame is fantastic, if you like a little spice.

10/7/2023 - Quality fresh sushi!! Was supposed to go to a sushi spot near Rose Gardens before my flight but the streets were packed and couldn't find parking so I decided to get some sushi near the airport. I found this Gem! Glad I did because they had fresh Otoro!! Nigiri was beautifully presented. Not too busy crowd at 5pm on a Saturday night. Waitress, Emma was awesome even though it was her second day! Sushi chefs were amazing. I saw two little baby otoro rolls that they didn't want to waste! Hope you support this local spot! I'll be back!
