We were walking around Multnomah Village looking for lunch options, and saw their menu. So glad we stopped in! We ordered the Grilled Brie sandwich and the Willamette Valley salad. Both were excellent and the service was the best!
Based on nothing more than the general appearance of this storefront breakfast Cafe, I was expecting the food to just be just solid. Man was I wrong! My breakfast burrito was absolutely awesome. I exchanged he chicken for bacon on the California chicken breakfast burrito and it totally hit the spot. My wife got an omlett and really enjoyed hers as well. The service was ok, as was the atmosphere. I'm definitely coming back for the food though.
We’re regulars at Down to Earth, we usually go for brunch once a week. It’s almost always a weekday around 1pm and we’ve had no issues with service or food quality. If you visit on the weekend it’s like anywhere else, gets very busy so you’ll wait longer. Yesterday we ordered two items from the specials board; the Huevos Rangeros and Yuppie Skillet - both delicious!
Fantastic local run café. My wife and I were visiting from UK and dropped in for lunch. I had delicious avocado toast with eggs, salad, French toast plus coffee and heath nut vegan smoothie. It was all great! The waitress was friendly and helpful. The owners were welcoming and very accommodating – they kept kitchen open long enough for us to get our late orders in. The prices were very reasonable. Perfect place for relaxed breakfast or lunch. We’ll definitely go back next time we visit!
Thought I'd stop in at a near by local breakfast place in the village.. Usually go to "Fat City", But Decided to check out, "Down to Earth".
Fresh local pastries are displayed. With a middle eastern feel..... Clean yet small.. Friendly Service.. Prices are reasonable. They offer Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten Free produce. As well as Organic.
Started my meal with a very large memosas. That I must say was made very well😊. Then there was the delicious "Down to earth French Toast", from their "Sweet Eats". Section of the menu. There presentation of the food is not only beautiful it's yummy. Everything was on point...I'll be back
The food looks simple but don’t discredit it :)
Please note that the majority of 1-3 star reviews are either take out/delivery or they visited during peak hour. This last time I went was about 50 minutes before closing, and we had a great experience. We were only a party of two but we were able to sit at a 4-top, and our food was delivered to our table less than 10 minutes after ordering.
I ordered the breakfast burrito with no sour cream (hence why my plate looks so empty), and the sandwich is the chipotle turkey. The burrito was 3 meals for me, and the sandwich is at least 2 meals. We paid about $13 per meal, and it was worth every penny.
This is the most affordable sit-down restaurant in the area (besides a bar/pub), and in my opinion the highest quality. The owner is wonderful, I cannot recommend this establishment enough. Definitely stop by, if not for food at least a smoothie.
The stuffed grape leaves and tzatziki on the Mediterranean plate were the best I’ve ever had.
If I could give less than a single star, I would. Walked in to this absurd establishment and was looked at multiple times by what I can imagine is the owner and for what had to been 10 minutes with nothing said to me or a greeting. Just completely ignored. I eventually left.
So after a couple months, I completely forgot and came to find an empty restaurant so sat immediately and ordered…damn good breakfast. Veggie omelette with juice and turkey bacon. It was all very fresh and delicious. $1 charge for 3 very thin slices of avocado.
Best and most affordable breakfast in Multnomah Village. The juices are so good and the staff is super friendly, cozy vibes and great food all around. Tons of vegan and veggie options as well.
Food is so good! fresh and hearty. It’s a nice little sit down cafe, super mellow, we just love it here.
What a lovely place to venture out to on such a rainy Portland day. Brunch was perfect in this charming little place. It may seem like tight sitting area but it is still warm and welcoming. Even when you are eating you can over hear cute conversations. For example: Person 1: "I wonder if that is a picture of the original owner?" Person 2: "That painting?" Person 1: "Yeah, I think it could be the owner." Person 2: "That's a Van Gogh painting, dear." Person 1: "Oh!" 🤯
You walk in, and you’re treated like family or a long time regular even it it’s your first time. Great food, delicious coffee and impeccable service!
Had the hamburgers: plain, mushroom, and bacon...2 with a soup, 1 with chips. Gotta say it was just plain food served very well. The hamburger meat itself, though, really raised the bar-- very fresh, flavorful, tender and juicy. The was very nice quality, I just prefer a little more seasoned. The smoothies we had were a perfect blend of fruits in a perfect creamy smoothness. Mot watered down or weak. Great friendly, quick, service.
So delicious! The food was tasty costumer service was great and the most important the coffee 🤘
Quite a pleasant little shop, pleasant people to chat with and nice menu. I've so far only tried a scramble and it was delicious!
Great quality food, great service. Nice addition to multnomah village.
